makonko: I hope so.
And even the "successful" ones don't come here anymore. Maybe they were told not to discuss their progress or have a different group.
It is well. Perhaps, they feel the thread has served its purpose and it is high time they moved on. After all, they've got what they wanted. Moreover, they may think their contributions will no longer be appreciated, after all the drama that marred the tail end of the recruitment. And saw some of them (SH candidates) being scapegoated. |

makonko: Bros, are you sure the new batch will be incorporated into the first batch for the induction or it'll be done separately? I believe the induction will be done separately. If they had wanted the two batches together, it would have been more logical to release the names at the same period. It seems they are following some bureaucracies, as some other news has it that they requested for two batches of recruits in 2018 from the National Assembly. |

I think we have been overreacting to this woman's action. The woman may not be as much rich per se, but wanted to do something that is unique and that will trend. We do not know what that particular day meant to her. Moreover, she knows she is not in America, and not legally bound by the rules and regulations governing conducts there. And to think that that the bills may even be fake, renders some of our bashing here unnecessary.
And again, what is it with some of us blacks in making a blanket statement over the deed of one individual. Black man does bad thing-- blackman mentality: blackman does good-- blackman with a whiteman mentality. We always find a way to compare ourselves with the white. Does it mean that blacks will always seek the approval of the western world in every singular act they do? And most of you who will jump at every opportunity to label the black race stupid seems not to read news to see some utterly bizarre actions the whites indulge in. |

Africa and Ethics!!! Oga what you just wrote is not the meaning of nonentity. Unless you are saying that was what you had in mind, when you used the word. |

iLegendd: Here is the inside story. Explorèr creates educative threads and everyone hails him for that.
What everyone just did is to cage him into behaving a certain way. Since he gets lots of compliments, he wouldn't want to disappoint them. This is to say, he has been caged into pleasing these people.
Typing... This bolded assertion may not altogether be true. It may also be that the said explorer indulges himself in educative materials or stories because he enjoys them, and may only feel it is worth sharing with others. His bringing the educative stuffs here on Nairaland may have nothing to do with compliments, but a sense of commitment to educate or just a hobby. |

Most part of this write up makes sense.
In my own opinion, the easiest and most effective way to cage oneself is to expect too much respect, love and acceptance from people. When you know that your comments or opinions are subject to debate or even outright rejection, and accept that people are entitled to their own interpretation or perception of your opinions, then no level of compliments can cage you. |

Babyforever: This is what attracts respect to the woman once a man pays all these he'll never disrespect her in anyway.......It pays to keep a wife On the contrary, when some men pay all these, the wife in question ceases to be a person but a commodity in the eyes of the husband, which was duly paid for and owned. Dowry payment in its true understanding should be a figurative payment to signify the entering into agreement between two different families, and not a literal outright payment of a family to another for their daughter. If not, then women are being objectified and monetized which amounts to a very great debasement of women. |

DelTel: Waowww! Sorry for your situation. But there must've been some agreement/terms & conditions before buying thru them. Your seller is a third party as the original vehicle seller is IAA not where you purchased it.
To reduce the cost, ask them if you can handle your inland transport & shipping yourself/elsewhere; then contact me to help you out (that will surely cut the price by almost half).
It's way better you ask plenty questions before dealing with organization/people. They should have educated you on where to buy, and not to buy, as per location. Agreed Nevada ain't a good location but still.
A (good) Nigerian with same bidding account rights as your albatross won't charge you up to a tenth of what you paying now. I think the transportation is optional, and he should exercise that right if he so wish. |

Try and pay up the fees. Losing $1000 for nothing is far worse than the extra charges. After all, you must have to transport the car to Nigeria before you can use it. And bulk of the amount is on transport and export duties. |

No SINGLE MERIT CANDIDATE CALLED IN BENUE!!! Why wast our time? Why are you killing hope of the youths for this country? Is there any need working hard in school to come out with a good grade again? ( Following your impressive performance at the last CBT exam, you are hereby invited for an interview) who will received this message and will not even borrow to attend for the interview? Tata and team!! My money, time and hope!!! I can understand the feeling at the bolded. It is not over yet. Even if it is over now, God is not done with us. Not receiving any offer from Dpr may just be the final step to breaking a bigger and better milestone. The truth is, Dpr has be clouded our minds for too long that we perhaps have been passing by better packages with less attractive 'foils'. Keep pushing relentlessly. There is still hope for the meritorious candidates. |

Xtruzz: Exactly....Andrew Obaje desarve it... Andrew Obaje doesn't deserve anything. After the government has paid him heavily for years, yet he is given a slot to put his descendant. This is one of the major reasons why the margin between the elite class and the lower classes continues to widen. Until we accept one needs to chart his course to deserve a position, the prospect of Nigeria will continue to be bleak. |
