Education › Re: Crack Out Your Brain: Hard Riddle For Brainstorm. by dprpikin: 9:47pm On Jan 21, 2021 |
The number of persons is 357.
Solution:
7 men + 7 wives = 14
Number of children for each man and each wife = 7 Number of children for each man with the seven wives = 7×7 = 49 Number of children for the seven men and the seven wives = 49 × 7 = 343
Total number of persons = 14 + 343 = 357. |

mu2sa2: I don't think op's puzzle has been cracked. 0 × 3 = 0 ( the answer is logical: nothing 3 times is still nothing). But why is 3 × 0 =0 (this is illogical: e.g if I have 3 apples and try to multiply it 0 times, I can't, but my 3 apples should remain 3, not 0. In case the puzzle can't be cracked in Queen's English, I beg let somebody try good old pidgin - maybe this will help, because with pidgin you are not constrained by rules of grammar ( just say it any how- the language is immaterial as long as the meaning is plain). Let the first figures in each of the two mathematical expressions stand for apple, and the second figures stand for the desire to eat apple. In the first case, there was no (zero) apple in the house in three different times (×3) you desire to eat apple. How many apple did you eat? None ( zero) In the second case, there were three (3) apples in the house but no time (×0) again did you desire to eat apple. How many apple did you eat? None (zero). |

BobFischer: This translate to zero 0 (if i dont have 1 naira) * 1 or * 100 = 0 (i still dont have any)
NOW THIS
(You have) 100 * 0 (nothing) = 0 (nothing) translate to you have 100 and i ask zero time(simply i dont ask) and then you loose your 100
so how do you explain this? losing you 100 when you do nothing Going by this logic, in the second case, the hundred naira availability is not the issue but the 'receiving' aspect. Mathematics deal with the resultant effect of an action or an inaction. |

Op, your topic should have read "Why are Igbo manufacturers not as great as their Northern and Southwestern counterparts? ". Let me tell you, a lot of Igbo manufacturers are making it down here in the Southeast on a low key. I want to believe that the Igbos dominate the SME in Nigeria. And in a developing economy, having numerous SMEs is not bad at all. If anything, it ensures fair distribution of wealth.
Moreover, the infrastructure and policies to drive manufacturing business is not really there.
Lastly, the hype on Igbo men business acumen is done mostly by non-Igbos, and you can't really blame them for what people say about them. What most people don't understand is that an average Igbo man believes in survival and luxury, and goes about it as circumstance permits him. |

Ortintin: Can u explain better on your first sentence because its quite confusing how your profession doesn't affect intelligence and how achieving does. What he meant is that practicing any profession does not guarantee you are intelligent, but distinguishing yourself in that profession does. Because it is easier to judge one's performance peer to peer within a profession than across professions. |

elchariotlp: Either the Staff that advised you is ignorant or you did not understand the advise given.
10% of the money is payable as Estate Fee to the Government. The sum is usually paid by the Administrators (survivors of the deceased) before the Letter of Administration is issued while in some states, the Court directs the Bank to deduct the 10% and remit it to the state while the Balance is made available to the Administrators.
All that the Bank deducts averages 5k to 10k expanded in confirming the Letters of Administration or Court Order from the Probate Registry or Court respectively. The bank should have demanded for a Letter of Administration and not ask their clients to pay 10%. From the narative, if they had accepted to pay the bank/banker the 10%, the remaining balance would have been released to them even without the Letter of Administration. That is clearly wrong. |

Bahamas95: I think it's the same thing with Igbo and Yoruba. There's always that fusion of English, you can attest to that in their movies..... Whenever you watch a Yoruba or Igbo movie they speak YORUGLISH or ENLIGBO through out. I don't know if they are forming posh or something.
The only language I have heard native speakers speak without or little fusion of English for lengthy periods is Hausa. You should know that Hausa language has a lot of adaptions from other languages-- notably Arabic and even English languages. English language itself owes it's versatility to its overwhelming adaptations from Latin and French languages. I would dare say that more than half of the English words in use today does not originate from the native speakers. Igbo language, on the other hand, is very rigid. |

oglalasioux: Don't forget the countless dialects.
In Ebonyi State alone, there are almost a new dialect per local government with Ishielu LGA leading the pack with at least 10 different dialects. Thankfully, every Igbo man understand and speaks the Onitsha dialect which is closet to the generally spoken Igbo language. Which Onitsha are you talking about? The purest form of Igbo language is spoken in Aba, followed by Owerri/Orlu. |

bookworm8: Hello everyone, how are you doing? Something not so funny happened in my office this morning, a colleague of mine was given a task to perform days ago of which he has been doing non-stop while in the office, minus break time. This morning, the Chairman came to his office and ask angrily "what have you been doing since morning"? my colleague showed him his progress on the task, but the chairman was like, "is this what you have been doing all this while" my colleague was totally dumbfounded, he didn't know what to say and just kept quiet. i wanted to say something but I just decided to stay silent also. To me, did a nice job.
What do you think he should have said?
(Note: the chairman is nice to everyone including my colleague.) In your post there are two questions; the first demands an answers and was furnished by your colleague, the second was rhetoric which doesn't necessarily require an answer. Your colleague did the right thing. Like my mum would always say 'not every statement is to be responded to'. |

Please, someone should help me call Abia state governor to come and see. You can bash Abia State on different fronts, but when it comes to craftsmanship, Abia State can compete with any State in Nigeria. Not too long ago, Abia State government sent some of its citizens to China to learn the art of mechanizing the shoe production and followed it up with the purchase of the pertinent pieces of machine. when it comes to hardwork and high activity level, you can't look past Abia State. |
