Moody’s Investors Service, better known as Moody’s, has finally downgraded Nigeria’s long-term issuer ratings from Ba3 to B1.

B1, B2 and B3 are judged to “have speculative elements and a significant credit risk”, while Ba1, Ba2 and Ba3 are seen as “speculative and a high credit risk”.

Moody’s has also assigned a stable outlook after concluding the review for downgrade initiated in March 2016.

Announcing this on Friday, the company, which ranks the creditworthiness of borrowers, said the downgrade is based on Nigeria’s increased external vulnerability “brought about by the prospect of lower-for-longer oil prices”.

The rating was also affected by the “execution risk” in the transition to a less oil-dependent federal budget, and the implications for the government’s balance sheet should it not achieve its aims

Moody’s further said “an elevated interest burden over the next two years while the government grows its non-oil tax receipts” was the third factor in the downgrade.

Thanks for asking of me. Although I did want to tell you, I didn't want to make anyone feel bad for me. I had to have surgery...which came about very quickly. I had 2 weeks to prep for it at the end of Feb. I actually was actually quite afraid that I would not wake from surgery . Fortunately a good friend of mine was my surgeon, I knew he would do his best, and God got me through. I was quite weak and in the following three weeks after surgery I had to have 2 blood transfusions. I had booth of my knees replaced with titanium prosthetics and it was terribly painful, I'll be rehabilitating for quite some time and actually did nearly 2 months in the hospital after surgery. I am home now and I'm making progress. It's tiring and painful but I see the light at the end of the tunnel although it's far off at this point. I really hoped that I would make it through so that I could see this season Penny Dreadful and be able to talk with you guys once again. I really missed our weekly discussions, lol.
I am sorry that I didn't share this with you because I know you would have checked on me and appreciated it. So, no feeling bad I still have a long way to go so you can still check on me from time to time and ask how I'm feeling
