Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have been handed a transfer ban for the next two transfer windows, FIFA have confirmed. The two clubs will be able to register players during the January transfer window but then will be unable to make signings for the two subsequent transfer wndows due to “international transfers of minors”. The Boko Haram commander who was killed recently by security forces spearheaded several crimes including the kidnap of foremost northern leader, Shettima Ali Monguno, and seven French citizens, security sources have said. Momodu Bama, also known as Abu Saad, was killed by security forces in a clash on August 4, the Nigerian Military said on Tuesday. The spokesman of the Joint Task Force in Borno, Sagir Musa, described Abu Saad as the deputy to the Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, saying the military had placed a N25 million bounty on him. They said the deceased was from Bama in Borno State, the same town where he was killed. The Information Minister, Labaran Maku, said on Tuesday that the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan had recorded more achievements than its predecessors despite the ceaseless activities of the Boko Haram sect. The Minister of State for Finance, Yerima Ngama, said on Tuesday in Minna that the Federal Government would spend about N1.7 trillion on salaries this year. The Police in Delta on Monday said it arrested 10 suspected members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) in Asaba. The Police Public Relations Officer, Lucky Uyabeme, announced this at a news conference in Asaba. Some members of the terror group, Boko Haram, dressed in military uniform, crept upon worshipping villagers in a mosque in Konduga, 34km southeast of Maiduguri, and shot dead at least 44 worshippers, injuring 26 others, sources said. The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, on Thursday has denied a claim by a senator that members of the Islamist sect, Boko Haram, have infiltrated the state. The governor said there would be no breathing space for insurgents to operate in the state and environs. His remarks came in response to comments by Babafemi Ojodu, a senator, who said on Wednesday that the senate had been informed by the military that the fighters have gradually moved southwards to Lagos, Ogun, and Rivers States, following ongoing military operations in the north east. An Osogbo Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded Ezekiel Adenipekun, 18, for allegedly killing his mother with a machete. The police prosecutor, Inspector Wilson Meriti, told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 21 at about 3p.m. at Irojo area of Ilesha, Osun. The Executive Council of the Federation (FEC) may during its weekly meeting on Wednesday approve another $230 million (N27 billion) credit facility from two international development agencies. The West Africa Examination Council, WAEC, has threatened to impose penalties on candidates who failed to collect their certificates on or before December 31. The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) is to formally present to the public, Nigeria’s first comprehensive audit reports on the country’s extractive industries. The report to be presented by the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, covers from 2009 to 2011 for the oil and gas sector and 2007 to 2010 for the solid minerals sector. A prosecution witness, Oliver Chineke, on Wednesday said that an oil marketer, Abdullahi Alao, forged documents to fraudulently obtain N1.1 billion fuel subsidy payment from the Federal Government. Mr. Chineke, a former Lagos Branch Manager of the Q and Q Control Marine Services, Nig. Ltd., testified at the resumption of Mr. Alao’s fraud trial before an Ikeja High Court. The accused, son of a prominent businessman, Abdullazeez Arisekola-Alao, is being prosecuted alongside two other oil marketers. The others are Opeyemi Ajuyah and Olarenwaju Olalusi.
