President Muhammadu Buhari has said that in fulfilment of one of their campaign promises, his declared assets and those of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will be released to the public upon the completion of their verification by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB). His clarification will quiet critics who complained about his statement early this week that anyone who needs to see it has to request for it via an FOI request to the Code of Conduct Bureau. The president expressed hope that the verification process by CCB will be completed before the expiry of the 100-day deadline within which he promised to declare his assets. The Senior Special Assistant, SSA (Media and Publicity), Mal. Garba Shehu who announced this in a statement on behalf of the President on Saturday, 6 June, said “the duly completed forms by both the President and the Vice President were submitted to the CCB on March 28th, a clear day ahead of their inauguration.” He said this statement was warranted by the need to clarify some suggestions that the President and the Vice-President may not, after all, declare their assets publicly. “While such public display of concern is appreciated and valued, it must be said that it is a little precipitate. “As required by law, the declaration and submission of documents to the CCB have been made, but there still remains the aspect of verification which the Bureau will have to conduct to authenticate the submissions made to it. “In the circumstances, it is only after this verification exercise, and not before, that the declaration can be said to have been made and validated; and only after this, will the details be released to the public. “There is no question at all that the President and the Vice President are committed to public declaration of their assets within the 100 days that they pledged during the presidential campaign. “The President and the Vice President wish to thank Nigerians for their show of concern, and for the confidence they have shown in their leaders’ integrity, as evidenced by the high pedestal of uprightness and expectations on which they have placed them.” http://www.thescoopng.com/no-need-for-pib-i-will-declare-my-assets-publicly-as-promised-pres-buhari/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |

All Progressives Congress’ lawmakers-elect will sign an undertaking pledging to abide by the party’s choice of candidates for the leadership of the 8th national assembly, TheCable has been told. According to source in the APC hierarchy, the party would conduct an internal election for its lawmakers on Saturday. “The aim of the election is to present sole candidates for the position of senate president and speaker of the house of representatives,” he said. “The party is trying to avoid a situation in which its lawmakers will be divided next Tuesday when the national assembly election will take place. “The party does not want the lawmakers to undermine its supremacy. What we want do is to avoid crisis. We know there will be hiccups, but we will get through them.” The APC leadership is currently meeting with its house of representatives members-elect at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja. The meeting is replete with occasional shouts of “no, no”. A sole candidate for speaker of the house is expected to emerge after the meeting. TheCable had reported on Friday that the APC was facing internal crisis owing to “irreconcilable differences” regarding the leadership of the 8th assembly. Read more at: http://www.thecable.ng |
A public policy organisation on African affairs, the Africa Political and Economic Strategic Center (AFRIPOL) has recommended former President Goodluck Jonathan for the Nobel Peace Prize. The organisation noted that the will of Alfred Nobel, the progenitor of Nobel Prize stated that Peace Prize be awarded to whoever “shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses”. Accordingly the organisation the ‘peaceful way President Jonathan conceded to President-elect Buhari deserves the attention of Nobel Peace Prize committee. He may have not promoted “fraternity between nations” but he surely promoted fraternal peace among Nigerians by conceding power.’ The group maintained that the “concession speech by President Jonathan averted bloodshed, violence and imbroglio in the most populous country in Africa. This gesture by Jonathan [sic] buttressed to the whole world that Nigeria has joined the comity of civilized nations”. http://leadership.ng/news/438861/jonathan-gets-nomination-for-nobel |
So bad is the singer’s situation, that he is said to have been given a quit notice by his landlord for failure to pay his house rent. This is no doubt coming as a shock considering that a little over eight years ago he was the rave of the moment, with his huge jam ‘Yahoozee’. Olumide Adegbulu aka Mr. Olu Maintain as he’s fondly called, in that song reiterated to everyone who listened that he had ‘hammered’ meaning money was no longer his problem. Awkward. Even after the Yahooze fame, Olu managed to get public attention recently with his ‘Nawti’ single, video for which had on display many beautiful women, and state of the art cars, leading people to believe that Olu was still living life on a Kentro level, even though the single was not as successful as ‘Yahooze’. The story for Olu Maintain has however changed and his finances has no doubt depleted. So bad is the situation that he was given marching orders by his landlord to vacate the property he resides at Akin Osiyemi street,Off Allen Avenue Ikeja, Lagos or face the wrath of the law. You might be tempted to ask what happened to all the dollars, pounds and euro Olu Adegbulu ‘had’, while living the ‘Kamakaze life on a Kentro level, leading people to believe that he had more than enough to spend and in the reserves? Well the answer like they say is blowing the wind. Olu instead of investing in property and other valuable assets which may have saved him from his current predicament preferred to live in a rented apartment. He made many circles believe that the place he calls home was actually bought by him until now that he is facing eviction orders just like D’banj. The grapevine has it that, but for the goodwill of a kind-hearted neighbour who appeased the wrath of the men in uniform from throwing out his belongings and taking possession of the rented building since he has been unable to meet his rent obligation to his landlord, he would have been thrown on the streets like and made homeless. How did Olu get to this level? Well, like the usual saying goes pride goes before a fall. Olu had all the opportunities in this world to be atop of his game, he’s an embodiment of style. He doesn’t smoke; drink cognac. His vice of the three common to men is womanising. He has been linked to some very hot actresses and known ladies. This of course is a story for another day. Olu is said to have had people behind him who rallied round to support the Yahoozee album only for him to make bigger bucks and then he started to show how ‘true color’, thereby biting the fingers that made him. This act, according to close family source, made him loose a lot of things and has made a lot of people distant themselves from him.Apart from this, MDB also heard from sources close to the situation that Olu has penchant for getting songs from upcoming artists and turning them into hits, promising them in return a brighter future, record deal, or even visa abroad but failing most times to fulfil his promises to these unknown talents. Perhaps, his current predicament may be as a result of Karma as well. Here is hoping Olu learns from this experience, and changes for the better in future. Source: Ynaija.com

lolababe331e:if this is true then let him continue but if he becomes a pawn in the hands of Tinubu and Oba Akiolu, then he should kiss the govt. house goodbye by 2019. |
If this turns out to be true, then Ambode is preparing himself for failure. |
The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, may not have started his official assignment on a very friendly note with the immediate past governor of the State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) as many of the loyalists of the former governor have just been relieved of their various positions. According to our reliable source, who pleaded anonymous, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode sacked many of them the in his first day at work and he is even determined to send many others packing. This development has prompted many to wonder if the new governor is using this to settle a score with former Gov. Fashola. Governor Ambode revealed this sad news to the affected people in a meeting he had with all directors of Lagos State Agencies. One of those unlucky people that have fallen victims of this action of Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode is Ms. Ronke Azeez. Ronke Azeez was the coordinator of ‘Lagos Eko Project’. ‘Lagos Eko Project’ is a World Bank Assisted Project on Education in Lagos State. Ronke is adjudged by many, particularly by her employer, Babatunde Raji Fashola, very brilliant and innovative. Our source revealed that Gov. Ambode just asked the lady to handover to the next person to her without giving any reason. On a similar note, another person that has also been relieved of her position by Gov. Ambode is Adenike Adekanbi. Adenike Adekanbi is another innovative woman who has been the one in charge of Lagos State Facility Management Agency. From the investigation carried out by Naijahottestgist, we gathered that it was Deji Williams, Personal Assistant to Gov. Ambode, that had actually written the proposal that led to the birth of the agency during the administration of Babatunde Raji Fashola. Furthermore, it was revealed that Mr. Fashola realised that the proposal made so much sense, and handed it over to a commissioner (name withheld) for execution. It was this commissioner, due to his extra-marital affair with Adenike Adekanbi, who brought her (Adenike Adekanbi) into the picture. Unfortunately for her, the new governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode was quoted to have said to her “I know everything that has been going on, handover to the next person to you.” Mr. Gbenga Akintola, Chairman of Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) is another loyalist of Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola that Gov. Ambode has decided to send packing from LSPWC. Gbenga Akintola was actually residing in the United States before. Our source revealed that his emergence as the Chairman of LSPWC was facilitated by his closeness to Prof. Wole Soyinka and Demola Azeez (Raji Fashola’s best friend). Indeed, we reliably gathered that after Gov. Ambode has asked Gbenga Akintola to handover to the next person to him at LSPWC, he eventually walked him out of the meetingThe last but not the least of those vital positions occupied by the loyalists of the former Lagos State Governor, Raji Fashola, and which Gov. Ambode has decided change their leadership is Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA). This time, the victim is not just the loyalist of Raji Fashola, it is his younger sister, Ms. Yinka Fashola. Our reliable source revealed that Gov. Ambode has relieved the younger sister of Babatunde Fashola of her position as the General Manager of LASRRA. He instructed her to handover everything in her care as General Manager to the next person to her in the agency. Without doubt, many would begin to wonder why Gov. Ambode actually went after loyalists of his predecessor in his first week in office, knowing full well that Babatunde Raji Fashola was one of those few people who have aided the victory of Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode in the last Lagos State Gubernatorial election. Is this a good start for Gov. Ambode? http://www.naijahottestgist.com/2015/06/05/first-day-at-work-ambode-goes-after-fasholas-loyalists-sacks-fasholas-sister-and-others/ |
