Coronavirus is over hyped.
Kano State Government has revealed on Wednesday that it has applied for N15b from the Federal Government to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

This was disclosed bythe state governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, during a television programme ‘Politics Today’ aired on Channels Television and monitored by Daily Trust.

The governor stated that the state had not received a dime from the federal government as support to fight the COVID-19 disease since when the state recorded its first index case of the virus. Kano’s COVID-19 cases are rising by the day and in just over a week, the cases are close to a hundred. Ganduje had last week declared a lockdown to curb the spread of the virus within the state. He explained that the N15b would be expended in paying voluntary health workers engaged by the state to support the health personnel, personal protective equipment (PPE) and the creation of other testing centres.

“You can understand that Kano is the most populated in the country hence the only testing centre at AKTH is not enough for us,” said Ganduje. However, reacting to the reported mass death in the state, the governor denied the report.

Kano State government has relaxed the one week stay at home order from 6am – 12 midnight on Thursday.

This is despite the fact that the state has confirmed 73 total positive cases of coronavirus including one death.

Deputy Governor, Alhaji Nasir Yusuf Gawuna, made the announcement while briefing journalists on Wednesday at Government house.

Gawuna who is also the Chairman, State Taskforce Committee on COVID-19, disclosed that the relaxation of the lockdown was considered by the government to enable residents prepare for the holy month of Ramadan.

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje ordered total lockdown for seven days on Thursday 16th, April, 2020, to curtail for spread of the global health burden in the state.

They keep telling us that there is no cure and people are being discharged.

But why must one be forced to take an oath before commenting on Muslim threads but not so with Christian threads? Is Nairaland set up to manipulate people into Islamic oath.

It is good one gets basic guidelines on fasting before embarking on it. Otherwise it may turn out to be a suicidal mission. Rip to the dead.

If you are using prepaid meter, you don't have any business attacking staff of the company. It is those who distribute estimated bills without power supply that actually need this beating.
