THAT IMPLIES THAT IT IS MANDATORY FOR NON-ADULTS BUT NOT MANDATORY (OPTIONAL) FOR ADULTS ...YOU DID NOT DISOBEY ANY RULE. |

brainy02: My little thought for the ongoing drama:
The dude in question I believe has dropped some valuable details here, while I will appreciate that, whatever is the motive behind barking out those instructions is left for him to deal with as it keeps getting heated.
Secondly, that he seek for legit hustle to support his journey in other threads should not even be a nail that will be used to pierce his heart with. Read again, that he constantly respond here does not ever mean he still can't hustle if he needs some funds to meet certain needs but.........
But he coming on here to cast another man's legit hustle to make him look worthless was his biggest undoing.
The golden rule of the Hustle Wall Street is that you don't call a fellow man lazy.
YOU DON'T KILL A BIRD POINTING A GUN TO YOUR OWN HEAD........ This he certainly did. True LOL. |

Jachy4real: Hello everyone! Visa approved in Lagos on June 13th, 2019 at the 6.30am appointment.
Ok, I was here over a month ago to ask about my chances of getting my visa approved since I planned to go with my spouse and child. Some strongly suggested I went alone while others said we should all go since I was fully funded and my case was subjective. Some said my chances were low since I had no work experience, can’t show home ties and my funds were solely from the school. Well, since I didn’t want to divide my home while pursuing my career, I decided to brave it anyway.
We arrived Walter Carrington by past 5am and went to join the queue by past 6am. My baby was all joyful, playing with everyone and everything that came her way. Immediately we got into the consulate, she became restless and started crying. We tried to pacify her and feed her but to no avail. And there was no way I could breastfeed her there! I became disoriented. The black lady at the first check point had pity on us and gave us an expedite slip. She called the security and asked him to take us to the front of the next queue where we met a white lady.
White lady: Pass me your passport Me: (I did with the expedite slip)
White lady: Why do you have an expedite slip Me: The lady gave it to me because of my baby
White lady: (angry) We don’t give expedite to babies! Why will she give you an expedite slip?! (she called the security)
White lady: Why will she give her an expedite slip? Security: I don’t know. I am surprised myself.
She then went to confront the black lady. My baby was still crying. I made up my mind to join the queue since I wasn’t ready for any of that drama. When she came back, I started walking back to the queue.
White lady: Where are you going to? Who asked you to go? Pass me your passport. After all the checks and biometrics she handed me the documents.
White lady: (clearly angry) I don’t know why you were given an expedite slip, but congrats. My baby was still crying. I took her from my husband and tried to calm her down, but no way. I became more tensed. The security took us directly to a white guy for the interview and my husband took the baby from me.
VO: who is the applicant? Me: I am, good morning (I tried to smile, and passed him our documents)
VO: What are you going for? Me: to study for a PhD in Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry (this was actually my area of specialization not the course but I was so disoriented that I said that. He obviously didn’t see that on the I-20 so he asked for a repeat of my response. Me: To study for a PhD in Chemistry with a specialization in analytical and bioanalytical chemistry.
VO: What University? Me: The University of Alabama.
VO: Tell me about your research Me: (I started to talk, but he cuts me off)
VO: I mean, what instrument would you use for your research? Me: Mass Spectrometer and Bleep
VO: Do you have a supervisor to work with? Me: Yes, Prof Bleep
VO: I can see your assistantship covers all your cost. Can you tell me about it? Me: (I started to give him a breakdown of my benefits, but he cuts me off)
VO: I mean, what do you have to do as a graduate assistant? Me: I have to teach, grade reports, make good progress towards the completion of my degree and maintain a good grade.
VO: Is he going with you? (referring to my spouse) Me: yes
VO: What will you be doing in the US? My spouse: for the first year I will help with the baby because it will be incredibly difficult for her to cope with the baby and then... (cuts him off)
VO: Have any of you travelled outside the country before? My spouse: Yes, to the UK for my master’s degree (he wanted to mention other places but the VO seemed to be Ok with just that)
VO: what work do you do? My spouse: Bleep
VO: Is that your only child? Me: yes. VO: (he gave me a pamphlet) read this and let me know if you don’t understand. Immediately I started reading the pamphlet, I knew it meant that our visas were approved from the information it contained.
VO: Do you plan to receive any medical treatment in the US? Me: (I didn’t get the question, so I asked for a repeat) No.
VO: Do you like American football Me: (smiling) Yes. The school is well known for it (he happily agreed with me).
VO: I will be approving your visa… He asked for our pick up location since he could not clearly see it on the passport.
VO: Enjoy your stay Me: Thank you.
I packed our documents and we left. Immediately we came out of the consulate, my baby stopped crying. It was while the people outside were congratulating us that I looked at the top of my file and saw the white paper. I was so disoriented that I didn’t even know when he gave me the white paper. So Kudos to those here who said they saw both the white and pink paper even while interviewing. It shows the level of their composure. I didn’t have the luxury of that because of my crying baby. However I answered my questions confidently and tried to smile all the way.
So this is my transcript, unfiltered. I will like to encourage everyone who sincerely want to pursue their career to go for it. Don’t let anything stop you. Work hard. Do everything you can and let God do the ones you can’t. Impossible is nothing! Congratulations!! |

Auditmonkey: Yes. I am aware of that. The circumstances wasn't favorable for such a thing at the time. Besides, I am home now. So, I just need advice in the next steps please. Thank you.
For those asking for a clearer picture: 1. I spent 1 semester in school 2. I informed the school about my intentions before I left. 3. I left ASAP, so I didn't have any days of illegal presence. 4. I am not going back to the same school 5. I am aware that I could have transferred, but I didn't. I know, my bad. I just can't begin to explain the circumstance.
So, please help a sister out Hope this is helpful. Normally...you can transfer your SEVIS details to the new school to be able to legally enter the US with your F1, except....

CptCharlesVane: Apologies, but it seems you are naive about modus operandi of con artists and the con game. Stop justifying BS. No one asked him to contribute to this thread. Matter of fact, most of the relevant stuff written on part 14 and 15 of this thread are recycled information freely given and freely recieved by selfless people, some still present here to this day.
If his posts have been of help to you, fine but NEWSFLASH: He probably read it here anyway, like many of the newtimers. Or how many visa interviews has he gone for or organized or is he married to a VO?
How someone who opened an account in 2019, barely 2 months ago asking if he could present T-bills at the embassy as SoA, and looking for legit hustle to travel instantly becomes a consultant luring people into PMs to charge them, for what?. Same fellow even went on to the GRE thread to advertise himself.
Is it really that hard to spot a poser?
I know it's your opinion but this one dey vex me la I really do understand It just didn't feel right to see him completely painted red coz of something that everyone perceived as wrong, after all the help he has given. I had to dilute the paint a bit. . I think it went too far. |

Predstan: 80k for recommending only 2 schools Lol Lagosismyhome, Fairheart, imperioxx, Walspring and others have all been a major contributor to this thread for over 3years. They charge for no information. But someone whose first post on this thread was April 2019 is charging for the same information he got on this thread.
Let him look for his potential customers out of this thread. Brown2Green helps a lot on this thread and through PM's. You can't deny the fact that he has been very helpful to an extent. Does he request for money when openly giving advice in this thread? No. Did he PM you to ask for money? No. Is his advice worthwhile ? YES. If at all what was said happened, it is a private matter and did not occur on this thread. Let's learn to be grateful. This is starting to look like beef and amebo. Afterall he did not force anyone to give him money. If he put a price tag on his advice it's none of our business, especially when it never happened on this thread. |

TokeOlawunmi: Hi everyone, My visa was approved on Thursday,Thank you to everyone who assisted in answering my questions especially Time2win, you are super amazing dear. May all of your dreams come true.
Deficit on I20- 45k School- Georgia Institute of Technology Program- Quantitative and Computational Finance
VO- Good morning Me- Good morning
VO- Pass me your I20 and passport Me- Passed the requested documents
VO- What program are you going for Me- Quantitative and Computational Finance at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta Georgia
VO- Why did you choose this school Me- I want to be a thought leader and an expert in the area of risk management in Nigeria. Also, application of knowledge is very important to me at this stage of career, the program is very practical, you get to learn skills such as R, python, matlab and also get to apply these knowledge by working on a capstone project. Also, the program has a small students to faculty ratio hence more access to faculty members and better learning opportunities. As you are aware the financial crisis originated from the US, learning from the school will give me a first hand learning experience of what leading practices standards issued after the crisis are trying to correct, for example Dr Chauva is very popular for teaching cases in financial crisis and credit risk analyses. when I come back, I would like to take a senior financial advisory role and work with the cbn, fmdq (financial market dealers quotation), sec (security exchange commission) in developing standards for our economy. The school also has one of the most brilliant minds in the Quantitative Finance space for example Dr Daniel Weagley who is an expert in teaching the relationship between financial markets and government agencies. (Basically I forgot my transcript and just kept rapping)
VO- Who is sponsoring you? Me- My Uncle
VO- What does he do? Me- He does internal audit, board appraisals and helps organizations in assessing their governance structure
VO- Do you have account statements for me? Me- Yes I do (passed the statements)
VO- Are you married? Me - No I’m not
VO- Any kids? Me- None (laughs)
VO- I have approved your Visa, please pick it in 3 working days
I was worried about my deficit and then saying it was my uncle (different surnames) paying. All the best guys, thank you for your support Congratulations!!!! |

doziej84: Visa approved Lagos consulate; time 6:30am; June 17; fully funded; PHD (Physics); VO-Black American lady
VO: good morning & pass me your documents Me: good morning (squeezing my face) & gives her my passport & i-20
VO: where are you going? Me: I’m heading to the University of Houston for my PhD in Physics. I’d be specializing in seismic physics.
Types furiously for like forever….
VO: why did you choose this school? First, because of the research fit. There is a strong research overlap between my research interests & that at the University of Houston. I’d be working with prof….. Of the Mission oriented seismic research lab. Together we’d be working on seismic data processing & analysis……..said some other stuff. Secondly, UHouston is in Houston which is energy capital of the world. This will provide access to research internships etc. I also intend to use UHouston’s international networking resources as I transition from graduate studies into a professional career. This will enable me take up research scientist roles in the industry or take up lecturing position in academia anywhere in the world. A PhD from UHouston, I believe is the beginning of a successful research & academic career. ....spoke quite fast here & demonstrated with my hands
Keeps Typing for like forever….
VO: how many schools did you apply to? Me: 9
Keeps on typing (she can type for Africa sha)
VO: name the schools Me: Uhouston, Utexas, LSU, Ulouisianna, NIU, UTulsa, VTech, GWU, Auburn
VO: did all give you assistantships? Me: No, some gave me only admits, some gave admits + partial funding, and some rejects
VO: your visa has been approved bla bla bla…hands me white paper, education usa docs etc...I actually stood & listened to all her talk b/4 walking away.
PS: security men just dey congratulate me.....This visa matter no easy oooo
Despite being well prepared using previous transcripts, I held onto God for his grace...I repeat, I held onto God for his grace. Kept a straight face, throughout. I was not trying to be over-convincing. I answered questions directly & didn’t over answer her questions. Her body language showed she was probably expecting me to keep talking until she cut me off…lol….I just gave her short, direct answers, kept mute afterwards & stared right into her soul through her eyes.
Pls, where the "Baba dem" wey dey Houston?....I need to ask some pertinent questions. Also, who has any idea on any airline giving flight discounts...I need the cheapest transportation to Houston....Money don finish for my hand. GOD BLESS US ALL. Congratulations!!!!!! |

Vo: I see you re going to southern university Baton Rouge Me: yes ma
Vo:to do what Me:to pursue my msc in urban forestry is
Vo:when did you graduate Me: march2018
Vo:have you gone for Nysc Me:yes ma
Vo: what did you do for your nysc Me: I taught agriculture in a secondary school
Vo: why us Me:US graduate schools re very good in research and this I very good for me as urban forestry is more of practical oriented
Vo: how many schools did you apply to Me: three
Vo: name them Me:SUBR, Florida A&M university and Texas A&M unio
Vo: how many admitted you Me: all
Vo: what re your plans after Graduation Me: I intend to come back to nigeria and begin working with the federal ministry of environment as a conservationist
Vo:how do you intend to pay your tuition Me: I’ve got funding
Vo: (pointing to my i20) you re only given 10k graduate assistantship, you still need about 9k to be able to pay your tuition, who’s going to sponsor that
Me:my dad and my uncle Vo:pass me your dad’s SOA
Me I didn’t have it just my uncle’s and my dad’s asset documents) passed her the asset documents Vo: handed it back to me that they don’t recognize that give me your uncle’s SOA Me:I did
Vo:went through it for a while, then started typing for a while, gave me a blue paper, sorry you not eligible You sold yourself away that you could not pay for the fees. If at all you're mentioning your 10K funding, say it along with the sponsor that is covering the remaining. DO NOT REGRET YOUR CHOICES WHEN IT'S TIME FOR THE INTERVIEW, THERE IS NO POINT. You knew your uncle was your sponsor, but you were afraid to state that coz of the denials that have happened with it. People Get Approved With Uncle. You just need to present the best out of your situation, and do it with courage. You said your Dad when you don't have his statement. All the responses sound cooked up... From the schools you chose & got into to NYSC & your sponsor...The VO may have noted on the system that you were not at all a genuine applicant, so I'm not sure what advice to give for your next interview (changing what you said in the next interview is also not good). Try applying to other countries. |
