But my main reason for this post is different. A close friend of mine got her Visa from China just last week for an MBA. Her school was not a really known school somewhere in Boston (d name didn't stick to my head). She didn't write GMAT, GRE or TOEFL. She is from a neighboring African country and her official language is more of French than English, but her English is good.

However, she went with a properly loaded bank account and this is how her interview went... Roll your sleeves ladies and gentlemen.....
Her: Good morning.
VO: Nice to have u here. let me have your passport. Have this paper. Your Visa will be mailed to u in 3 days. You may leave now.

She went to Chengdu embassy, too many applicants at Beijing embassy she said.

Aside funding, your profile beats hers hands down. Calm down, get your responses across without confusing the VO. You should be fine but it is better to be over-prepared.

The ratio of Lecturer to Students, and the state of Art facilities where also the convincing factors.

VO: Any standardized test?
ME: GRE: 280 and TOEFL: 80?

V.O: What will the degree do for you?
Me: The program is a science-based and technology management focused, it will equip me, put me on the edge to accept the challenging mission of achieving renewable energy utilization and its sustainability in the food industry, which will reduce our over dependence on crude based source of fuel which will lower the prices of and demand for natural gas by increasing competition and diversifying our energy supplies.

VO: Who is paying the school bills?
ME: My dad is footing the bills.

VO: What does he do? Pass me his SOA
ME: He’s a lecturer of Law at University of Ibadan, hands her SOA

VO: I can see you married with Kids, why are you not going with them.
ME: My wife just got started work with XYZ bank and there’s a bond she signed with them that won’t allow her leave her duty post for two years.

VO: You can pick your visa in 3 days.
ME: Alright, have a great day.

I know how important it is to share a visa interview transcript, I mean I have learnt so much from what I have read here. I would never refuse to share mine when it's time. Until then, I am committed to making helpful noise on this thread

Bro try to get ur visa and run away. Is not a must u will look at the VO. Even the VO your looking at won’t even notice you since his or her eyes will be on the computer.

No sir. They cancelled my interview. According to them there has been changes in the immigration laws for those from a royal lineage. They believe I would be a cultural asset to them and can't wait to have me. So yes, I have been issued a visa.
Now that I have blatantly lied, can I rest? Can I also respond to questions without been asked about my interview? I am no longer comfortable, I feel pressured!

No dear, there are other strategies to buy time to think. Like saying " sorry?", "I beg your pardon", "can you please repeat that?", "I'm sorry I didn't get you correctly". Do you know you can smile and say uhm...(that's how to buy time but don't over do it!)
Furthermore, this is where your transcript comes in. You ought to have anticipated over 25 questions a VO would ask. Yes there might be one that will take you by surprise but I'm sure with devoted preparation, you'd be able to give a sensible impromptu response.
So please have it in mind that you are going to donate your eye balls to the VO and you won't take them off until the interview is over or you want to bring a document from your file

A poor school will not even get funds from the government and private organizations.

And funding is very key.

I think (without enough funding) 'What would this degree do for you?' didn't show enough reason to return, (though it's a possible reason) since it's almost hard to believe that someone would return from the United States after paying over $24K per year to take up a lecturing job at a (federal?) University.
I think chances would also have been higher if you were married with kids, and if you had a closer relative sponsoring you.

I was denied a B1 visa in 2017 through an AGENT.
But now I'm doing my F1 myself. Today I was trying to apply for my visa. But when I was trying to update my profile, the site says that my personal details match with a profile already on the database. And the email address the agent wrote was written on it.
What options do I have incase I can't reach the agent again for the password of the former account?
What can I do?

It happened to me too..upload your passport as prompted by the system, and in 24 hours your portal would be good to go for appointments.

The United States Government last Week, without prior information or notice, launched a New Immigration Policy called "Build America" It is a new merit base visa application system that seeks to increase the standard of scrutiny of visa application to prevent people of questionable reputation, economic immigrants and People without travel history from getting US visa.

Under this new rules, key changes have already been implemented without notice, as follows :

1. End of Drop box (automatic visa renewal without interview for existing visa holders is cancelled. Existing visa owners will now apply and be interviewed like everyone else when their visa expires )



2. Green Card to be scrapped
3. Applicants for B1 or B2 visas without adequate travel experience will now be automatically denied.

4. Applicant with monthly income below $1700 will now be considered as economic immigrants and denied.

5. Strong ties & attachments (compelling proofs of what can bring you back )to Nigeria now to be strongly emphasized.

If look at the attached picture, you will see No AOS stamped on the passport. AOS means Adjustment of Status.

I just want to point out , a salary of $90,000 a year comes to about $65,000 a year after tax . You still have to factor the owner of this salary will pay Mortage or Rent , Food , Clothes and other bills . Easily that can slash that 65,000 to half of what is left or less than half . If he has children and family then there hardly anything left self. Then to tell a VO that person would sponsor a non biological child with that figure 38k on a 90k salary

Let pray you are just ask on a high-level who is your sponsor and what does he do, without going into breakdown of salary . Once you start breaking it down, you see it not easy for someone working abroad to fully sponsor someone. but Nigerians never believe. Some people have successfully sponsored but its not easy and kudos to those sponsors . A man earning 90k in the US with a family is not a rich man at all, so welldone to him

He is still rich with a 90K salary..that's not an average or above average man's salary in the US..If he has children, he has a wife, which may also be working. But don't get me wrong..I totally get your point

There are many interview transcripts on this thread You just have to go pages back. From now till July 15 is more than enough for you to see at least 10 past transcripts from this thead.

I just rescheduled my appointment. Go back to your portal and click reschedule appointment. You would see dates for June 7, 10, 26, and others in July.

My F1 visa was approved last Tuesday. I was advised to pick up my passport 48hours afterwards.

Wednesday was a public holiday. Thursday and Friday were working days. However, my passport is still at the embassy when I tracked it this morning.

My school resumes in 2 days. I have sent the embassy a message but no reply yet. What can I do?

Firstly, congratulations on your approval, please post your interview transcript. Keep contacting them, or be patient, they would reply. Is there any way you can contact the pick up center? I think you also should. If in the end you are unable to get your passport before the program start date, contact your DSO for an extension letter.

It's like the new change only affects those that haven't yet completed the DS160.
