Oh oh it's for spring oo. Let me check somewhere else and get back. I know I saw for fall 2023. |

Oh, they might want the GRE ooo. Sorry. 🤦 |
Zihno:But they recently posted a GA ad for Mechanical Engineering for the Fall 2023 term. Yeah. Also, you can try Virginia tech..they love engineers. There, even though they listed the WES as a a criterion, people I know only just sent the one they did with the gpa calculator... |
Zihno:Yeah, I know about Fellowships. But I hear people talk about funding so much these days, that I began to wonder if Fellowships are no longer merit-based. Except, they're seeking some kind of reduction in their tuition, surely that many people cannot be qualified to want a piece of those Fellowships...and this is why I assume that every Masters student, especially from Africa, shouldn't be choosey as to start by ignoring graduate assistantships, when even PhD candidates apply for GA. Anyway, I don't know what program you are applying to, but I know for a fact that Georgia Southern has GAs. For Masters students. |
Zihno:When people say funding, do they often mean that their admission letters should come with free money that would not require them to do some kind of work in return? |
Guys, please where can I download "Heidi" (2015)..please. I've checked everywhere I know. I think it's a German/swiss movie. |
YoungWizard007:February 1st is the priority deadline for the fall term in many schools. Of cos, many students have waited until this last day to apply. |
YoungWizard007:Do what you may and hope for the best. That's what every other person here does. Good luck to us. |
YoungWizard007:I already am applying, but that's because I know the kind of profile I'm working with and know what I want. Promises are not my problem at this stage..I have two of them. I just can't fold my hands and put all my hope in them. I believe though that if you have all the docs, you are already more than half way across. |
YoungWizard007:Hahaha.. This is what I talk about. It was a 150 dolls and it put people off. All good... cheddar is not easy anywhere. Then we hear that it's free, but see the number of interests it is piquing. As I'm picking up as well, applying to the more competitive programs, has also been made tougher. So far, someone has mentioned BioMedCAS, another, EngineeringCAS, I did BusinessCAS and have also seen SOPHAS ---- all centralised app systems that compulsorily request for stuff like WES, test scores, sometimes publications and the works, before ushering candidates ahead to do supplemental applications at the schools' websites, costing even more, typically. But the beauty herein (amongst other advantages) is that, these bumps and stops, put..people..away. And it gives those who do not ordinarily have a fighting chance, one... We also hear ChiBertha talk about GA openings scattered about her campus, don't we? While I'm yet to get to where I can confirm this, it's a given that the sail would be smoother than many others, that do not utilise such systems. I'm not old oo, but I know some wise sayings. And this is just my cent please, not an invitation for anyone to come join me in a WWF ring. |
NightCyrax:Awesome! Don't mind me too ![]() |
NightCyrax:And if I do not copy your point, would you still not peace me out? ![]() |
iamola30:Ohh, you have finished writing your own. Okay. |
NightCyrax:Dude, I didn't say you did either. I could easily call you peevish too. It was an overview. My advice was even directed at someone who's looking to correct course, after a failed attempt. What d'you hope to gain from painting scenarios, that detract attention from the value of doing something more? |
NightCyrax:Semantics... Better research antecedents are dependent on what I publish and can defend before an admissions committee. Would you even say that we do better research than our abroad counterparts? Going by that, we will not even smell their embassies. How do we compete, is the question? Okay, say we ride out the impassioned logic that standardized tests are not crucial, if both have wonderful research works prior to admission and one has a score to submit, who stands a chance then? In brief.... let's help ourselves. |
iamola30:Been there and done that. Everything I didn't want to do, I found a way to convince myself and others why it might not be necessary. Until I began to acknowledge the competition out there, like the OGs have been preaching about here. When you hear that a program is competitive, how do you advice people then, to make themselves stand out? Would it not be for them to up their game in every possible way? The Ugochukwu Madu you mention is one person that made it without the GRE, will you deny the existence of a lot others that had succeeded with one, and even with a smoother experience? Was it even handed to him on a platter? Tell his complete story... We strike off WES, we strike off Standardized tests, we look for free applications everywhere, so how do you want people to compete? Speak better grammar in SOP? Well, my advice for people who have Gone and now Know, should be to take note of the time you waste and be smart enough to know when to up your game. I personally know how all these I mentioned up there have greatly covered a gap for me, given the fact that I didn't have a stellar GPA. |
EmeDavid:No publication, no standardized tests, big man schools, no WES...straight to PhD. Hmnnnnn...okay . |
Sisib15:Very correct. Same to you. |
That's how they tell you that the GRE is not a requirement and then they tell you that they encourage students to send anyway and provide an actual code ![]() If you are a prof and you see two students' applications for funding/GA, one with GRE score and the other without, who would you pick? Think am well. |
Successmock:Thanks. |
Lovethchisom:Okay you didn't understand what I said then. Your school can send directly, electronically to WES. Of cos, you'll often get e-transcripts (student copy) as every transcript request is generated from your school, but I mean they can send to Wes electronically. |
Lovethchisom:What about the WES? I've responded. |
Trust you having a great Sunday?
