DAramis: Thanks for the wishes.
The reason we spread our option in school application is also the singular reason why all eggs are not put in a single basket😅🤣
Utah is pending for me. After paying app fee, they started demanding official transcript. ASSU Wahala and unnecessary school closure made it impossible for me to be able to apply and deliver official transcript to them before deadline (February 28). 2 schools, still have not paid their app fee up till now cause I don't have it.
It is well. Just one Full admit to drop like Michael Jordan 3 point in basketball game is all that matters. God will do it.. honestly, all my body is paining me like this. But it is well. |

DAramis: Soft Reminder
February 28/March 1 is the last application date for remaining universities for those interested in Funding. Other passed date include December 15th, January 1st and January 15th (I think they are the major ones).
So push through those your application if you are still considering Fall, 2023.
1 love letter (Regret message/mail) just dropped for me ( Tulane University). Checked profile and saw it there. Eyaa..ndo..I wish you well. Thanks for the updates.. For me, it's the wait that is killing me..and the fear of the unknown. I don't know how you people manage. I feel I shouldn't do too much, when I can end up getting what I need from one of the many I have already done. But then, I'm just waiting for time to roll, so I can know what the future holds...but if the future flops..my own don be for this year be that... it's stressful. |

Najdorf: Something like an MSc/MA. Sure, they technically all have "Masters" in their name but an MBA is so unique that it's hard to group it together with the others. For example, most schools may not have RA and TA positions open to MBA students. An an MBA student you also contribute little in terms of research.
It was only a suggestion to the OP to consider another option. I have add this point because I know people on this thread like to swallow someone. Hahahahaha...okay. |
Travel › Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by Dreamsss: 9:59am On Feb 11, 2023 |
Najdorf: My program is not an MBA. I'm going for undergrad. If I'm a finalist for any of their scholarships that I applied for, I'll be called to interview by March 1st.
Since you're getting these offers your profile must be strong. Have you considered applying for a regular Masters degree rather than an MBA? It might be easier to get full funding that way. Just my thoughts. What d'you mean by a regular Masters, rather than an MBA? |

Well, the matter is delicate. While I might not be comfortable with sharing details of prof and department, from whom and which I'm trying/about to clinch an assistantship..after getting it, I doubt that I'd be able to hold myself from sharing...as I see a lot more people do around here, especially when they share visa transcripts.
Which is why I did not put mouth before, because Myflair's already gotten it, soo....
Well, that's me. Every aboki with hin kettle😒 |

We had a similar experience in LAUTECH with lots of courses actually, but particularly the then 200 level Organic Chemistry 222. The fear of 222 then, was the beginning of wisdom. You'd see nothing in the course and yet people would fail over and over and over again. Sometimes, even people that paid money, could not entirely be saved, because their GPA would've undergone permanent paralysis, following the first failure. And it was a 4points course, so you can imagine what I mean. It was sooo pathetic, and it has been telling on many of us, even after school.
Good thing for others as I later heard though, that it got completely scrapped from the entire school's curricular....following my own graduation. That's to confirm to you that it was that bad. So we were the unlucky lab rats abi na scapegoats. |

PRYCE: Hi, please in what format did they send the GPA from the free calculator?
As a screenshot or they downloaded the mail WES sent to them and emailed it?
Like this?? Now, all three people (2- Virginia tech, 1, Binghamton) I know, did not do this directly with admissions, I must let you know. They wrote to profs, who accepted to take them under supervision and asked for their official transcripts. They gave excuses to the effect of our country wasting time and blah, but offered the WES calculator gpa, saying that they knew they were in good standing..and that was it. I believe it was the mail edition. |

Donbigi2: I just checked their website. It's a bit expensive, do they usually offer graduate assistantship? Is it? Well, I wouldn't know because where I come from, we never plan to pay shi shi. Are you an engineer? Write to profs and find out for yourself. |

Zihno: Thank you very much. But the link isn’t opening I wonder why, but it's supposed to let you download the job description in pdf. You may access it through their "available assistantships" or if you have access to the mygeorgian website, you'd see more of those listings. I know two people at Virginia tech that didn't submit the Wes but got GAs...even though it's listed as a requirement. Then I know another that got Fellowship at State Uni of New York (Binghamton), if you want a go at it. He's an Electrical Electronic grad though, but I'm not sure department entirely matters for engineering...in many schools. |
