European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Okocha Agrees return to Super Chicken by dreeldee(op): 1:43am On Sep 12, 2009
Okocha succumbs to pressure, agrees to return to Eagles

Former Eagles captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, has finally succumbed to pressure to return to the Green Eagles, spokesman of the team Idah Peterside has revealed.
Peterside told this reporter in Lagos that Okacha bared his heart to him before Sunday’s World Cup qualifier in Abuja where  Tunisia held Nigeria to a 2-2 draw, a result that has given the North Africans better advantage to qualify for the World Cup finals.

They lead the group with eight points while Nigeria are next with six points. Nigeria can only qualify if they win their remaining two matches while Tunisia drop a match. Peterside told the story this way:
“I discussed with Okocha and the problems in the team’s midfield  came up. He told me that he could play in the World Cup if Nigeria qualifies. He said he could prepare from January and in four to five months he would be ready to play at the World Cup level again. Part of the preparation would be to play in the league in Nigeria.
He could sign for Enyimba, Rangers, 3SC or Warri Wolves, the club from his native town Delta, the only state that honoured him with a testimonial match. He lives in Lagos and has business in Lagos and it would have been nice if Lagos had a premiership club. I say this because there could be a situation where he would play only home matches.
The clubs may not be able to cough out  enough money that may make him to leave supervision of his business in Lagos. His business creates  the attraction for a club in Lagos but there’s no big club here. He feels strongly about helping the national team and he believes he can still contribute a lot based on what he sees in the team.”
One time Green Eagles star Adokiye Amasiemeka was first to make a clarion call to Okocha to return to the Eagles. This led to national controversy and Adokiye maintained that nobody in the present team can boast of the creativity of Okocha and that he could still turn the tide. Adokiye foreclosed that doom awaited the Eagles if nothing was done to their midfield to have finesse that an Okocha could contribute.
His views are coming to pass with the draw the Eagles played with Tunisia in Abuja on Sunday. The midfield was hopeless, the defence porous and the attack blunt. Qualifying for the World Cup is now an uphill task for the Eagles.
Okocha is a member of the Task Force President Yar’Adua set up to ensure Nigeria’s qualification for the first World Cup that will be staged in Africa. He fumed over the inability of the players to hold on to their lead on Sunday and said he would have killed the game if he were playing.
“The baby they said we should go and welcome is dead,” he lamented over the draw, wondering why the players did not slow down the game when they lead 2-1 and it was just two minutes to full time.
“There are ways to do this. You could hold the ball on the  flanks and shield it in a way that opponents may make contact and you will fall. The referee blows for a foul and you pass the ball to a colleague who rolls it back to you and you shield it again and another forceful contact will result into another foul and time is passing.
Every player will be involved in killing time. I feel bad about this game. I expected the experienced ones to have taken leadership and known what to do. I almost jumped into the field to stop the Tunisian attacker when he was rushing  into our goal area in the very move that led to their equaliser. He had so much space and I thought of stopping him. In seconds, I thought of crazy things.
If I rushed into the field from my close position and stopped that move FIFA would have probably banned me from watching live matches but Nigeria would have had a better chance to go the World Cup. I went crazy at that moment. It’s not good to say but crazy things went through my head. I was almost by the touchline when that move commenced and see how the whole thing turned out,” Okocha told this reporter in his hotel room few hours after the match.
Peterside revealed his nod to the calls for his return Wednesday in Lagos before jetting back to his base in South Africa where he mentioned it on Supersport Thursday night.

This one game doesnt tell us anything. . . . same Scolari was winning matches 6-0. . . . if you were wise, you would notice how open we are to the counterattack. . . look how one ball forced Ivanovic to pull down Kenwyne Jones. . . . the right team would easily kill us on the counterattack . . . the defence is very porous. . .
Ok this is different from saying CA isn't right or the formation isn't working for us, I agree the difference was a little bit porous in the early minutes of the game.

@Ibime this is why it's too early to complain about the coach. We need to give him the benefit of the doubt, half way into the second game of the season isn't enough.

I still don't see aw the formation is not working . .
Is it because we are behind . ?

It's not like we are not creating chances . .
And every formation is meant to create chances . .
We just have to convert the chances . .
Exactly my thought, it's too early for now

"Lots of possession and penetration for Chelsea until they get too the penalty area where its too congested. . . . they will find it hard to score a goal like this" - BBC Radio 5

Sounds like DeJaVu from Scolari days.
Anyone who thinks Ancelotti is good for Chelsea needs to be lobotomised!!!

I cannot back a failure.
This is our second game of the season and y'all are already blaming the coach. If anything It should be the strategy not the coach, and it's too early to start throwing it all at the coach.

Good plan i would say but man you've really got a great control of yourself. I do too but not this much, I admire you. Left for me, God knows what coulda happen. And to those telling him to ask her why she cheated, it's like giving the devil a chance which I'm sure nobody wants to allow. I have a very vivid imagination and If i was in your shoe, taking her back would mean living with the regret for the rest of my life, trust = 0

HAHAHAHAA THATS STILL VERY FUNNY.
What makes you so confident Rita should have been the winner of this senseless show?
TV/MoviesRe: Is Rita The Koko Mansion's Biggest Mistake? by dreeldee: 4:40pm On Aug 08, 2009
IMO and excluding her delivery (I don't judge people based on their fluency of the English language), Rita is not as smart as she tried to portray herself, she's dumb. Yahoo yahoo under EFCC?? shouldn't it be the other way? Like yahoo yahoo, like jazz (whatever that is) most of it in Nigeria, she must be kidding me, Nigeria is the most troubled country with all these problems? she don't know shit, only a smart ass. That's not to say she doesn't have some commendable qualities too, one of which is her enthusiasm while delivering her speech. She can become a good orator if she knows what she's talking about, but for now the English language should be the least of her problem.

sounds like you tied the knot for the wrng reasons   angry if you think you weren't ready to give up the game and turn in your player card WHY ON EARTH WULD U play with sumbody feelns like that and marry them. n then turn around and have a baby. this is exactly why less and less women get married in the first place bcus dudes like u (christans like u) don't believe in, value or respect the sanctity in marriage. i strongly suggest you ask the lord for mercy and forgiveness and try love honor and respect the woman you chose to marry seriously u need to grow up man. life aint always bout what you want ta do but what you gotta do thats what u call being a man and accepting your responsibilities. word to the unwise handle yo business. good luck man God bless.

I read through this thread with the poster own headline and not until i signed in later did i realized the thread title had been changed. If this was done by Seun then that's really bleeped up (Sorry i can't think of anything to explain that action). If you got this much of a power and you cant use it for something positive other than discourage somebody's own believe about to be put into action then you should rethink. If people wanna do something positive, encourage them, and if you don't believe in their ideology, then sit back and relax rather than use your own power to discourage meaningful moves like this. If the headline was what you changed it into, i probably won't bother reading in details. And to others who don't believe this will work, pretend like it's one of those things politicians say and just ignore it rather than kill positive minded actions.

oh my G, nairalander it's ok, if you didn't see the irony of the post, no need to snap back like dis, I understood the point being made, it wasn't meant to demean men in general but to show where they are lacking. Instead of taking offence let's discuss each point and how some men are trying. We ladies are not perfect too and we would like to hear correction. but you guys seem to hate criticism. Beyonce sang, Irreplaceable, Neyo reply am, TLC sang Scrubs, dem Wyclef sing "No Pigeon". Why can't we stop the hate and move on to reconciliation? Anyway, who said sexyleamon is the one who wrote that article? I'm sure she was quoting from somewhere. Even mrbrownjay found a matching article. Brothers please, treat women with dignity.
Well then until y'all find a reasonable comparison.
