Enasdan: good afternoon everyone, please how safe it is to marry one's US fiancee on her first visit, will this be of a red flag by the USCIS and by US embassy during interview? thanks for your contributions. Nobody knows how safe it is. Besides are you engaged or married to your fiancée? This is a K1 thread. |

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing great? During my interview, the CO said my visa will be ready in a week, ceac updated twice last week, one after my interview and one on Saturday. On Monday, it changed to non-immigrant “application received”. No further updates since then, I do know the mumu june 12 holiday slowed things down. How long will it take. My fiancée is anxious for us to leave. I don pack bags already sef. Thanks all.
Secondly, please if you are having your interview any soon, please familiarize your self with the questions asked during interview. People who had their interviews today both said COs were tough( they both used the word “brutal”) and only God made it happen(they changed one CO at the late hour). It isn’t a walk in the park. You can go on vj and go to the Nigerian section and familiarize the questions, some reviews are on here too. Good luck to everyone. |

[quote author=Esorae85 post=79243774]Please whereby the divorce certificate is from customary court because the only marriage performed was traditional marriage what happens? I was told at high court that embassies don't recognize our traditional marriage thus the divorce certificate is of no use to them and during B1/B2 application I stated married.
If you are married and no longer married, please get a divorce decree at the high court. Were you probably divorced? |

Must the affidavit of support be sworn to by a Notary public or the sponsor just completes the I-134 and signs off? Urgent request please. No need for notary lol, just the sponsor sign and then date it. Shikena |

Enasdan: good morning everyone, please I do kindly need your help, I do need your experiences on this. 1. I want to know the advantages and disadvantages of K-1 visa, that is the pros and cons 2. the pros and cons ( advantages & disadvantages ) of spousal visa.
so to know which one will be suitable and best for me and my fiancee.
Thanks in advance for your swift responses I do appreciate Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation. K-1 Slightly faster arrival in the US (currently about 5 months sooner) More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 5-6 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 5-6 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. CR-1 Slightly slower arrival in the US (currently about 5 months later) Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US. |

ifunanyamaka: Hi guys. Please I need help with directions on getting to DHL collection office to pick up my visa. So Uber doesn't seem to recognise the address and since I do not reside in Lagos, I don't know how to get there from VGC estate. Those who have picked up their visas please how do I get there? Preferably using Uber or Taxify. Do I need to put in a different address or something? Hi, how long did you visa take to be issued and picked up? |

Dutchleez: Hey Guys! Happy weekend to y’ll
I noticed a whole lots of visa applicants I’ve come acrossed prefers Lagos embassy to Abuja embassy. Here is my question: Could it be as a result of easy access due to their respective locations or Lagos embassy COs are more lenient while Abuja COs drills a lot .
I live in Abuja and my house is just twenty minutes drive to the embassy (Traffic free except for the traffic lights) and I’m hoping to have my interview by God grace at the Abuja embassy.
I’d be glad to have you guys take on this. God’s Blessings Always! K1 applicants do have their interviews at Lagos. If you live in Abuja and your petition is K1. You are having your interview in Lagos. |

@sandraigho, I advice you go back home and commence the K1 Visa Process. Its the right thing to do. People have stayed behind in the States, got married and filed to adjust status and got their green card but it's a risk not worth taking. Thanks bro! Permit me to take a leave off thread today sir legit |

mekusa10: Wawu!! Finally bro! Congrats!!! How did it go? Please let's learn from your experience. Thanks man! Experience goes as thus. Went through the normal protocols of security. Then went inside the embassy and waited for probably 5-6 hours? So be prepared to wait. Got there 5:20 and I left 2:10. My appointment was 6:30. 2 COs were interviewing us immigrants. One was a white and the other was a kinda Pakistani or Indian. The Asian guy already denied 2 people due to them not knowing their fiancés well. 2 were told to bring additional documents. After waiting for almost 6 hours, I could see the Asian guy checking my file. Called my number and interview goes thus; Who is petitioning for you. When did you meet. Where did you meet. How did you meet. Was she previously married? What date was her divorce? How many kids? How long has she been at her current job? Does she stay in a house or apartment? How much is her monthly salary? How old is she? How old am I? How old are her kids? How many? How many times she visited me? When is she going back? After typing and all bragado. Man said all looks fine, gave me 2 papers, one for pick up and rights as a spouse. Ran out cos my fiancée was out waiting for me and she was tired. Kissed her 10 times. My advice, please know the important dates. These people are ready to approve, interview is just mere questioning. Thanks and God bless. To those who have their upcoming interview, stay confident, look them in the eyes. Before I left only 2 people were denied out of 20. |

OOT1: Hello People,
Please what's the K1 packet? We have sent a mail to the embassy after we saw the status of application changed to ready on the US Embassy website. Only a generic response came same day, we have completed DS I-160, payed visa fees and scheduled the interview. Beneficiary will be taking his medical test later this week. Is there any need to contact the US embassy again for the K1 packet because we don't know exactly what other specific correspondence from the US embassy in Lagos is required before the visa interview which is already scheduled for 1st week of July 2019. Nothing really. Embassy just send you a list of what to do which is called packet 3. |

Tonello: She makes lesser that's why I want to involve a Co sponsor but when can I? I don’t think you can yet. Uscis only deals with the aspect of usc eligible, consulate dealing with the visa, once approved at the uscis, get ready for a co sponsor. |

Tonello: Hello guys please I want to involve a Co sponsor for my filling, do we submit the form for the Co sponsor and the affidavit of support along with other documents when my fiancee files? How much does your fiancée makes? There is a list few pages back. Check and see and only at the interview is when you are shown if you need a co-sponsor or not. |

It's a security check. Yeah the ds3555, it was used for countries known for immigration fraud, Morocco, Pakistan and the likes. Now it’s for everyone. |

Beautyaddy: Huh...that is hard for most US visa officers to detect that.
As long as the USC does not suspects that even if the US visa officers do...the petition will still be approved but might take a little longer than usual. From another angle, true that. |
Travel › Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by Drenimarcus(m): 5:48pm On May 31, 2019 |
123JohnF: All get approved, you are a USC family. If you bring all documents, you are approved fast. If you miss some document, you are asked to bring it and you will be approved. If your fiance / husband, wife needs a joint sponsor, they should find one and you will be approved. Even if you were deported from US or have a criminal record, your family, USC claims you, it will take time asking USA for forgiveness but you are approved. If you are a drugs user, you may not pass the medical yet after you stop taking drugs for 6-12 months, you go again and you are approved. It is rare being denied but there are some political issues and big crimes which may deny your acceptance like crimes against humanity, terrorism, dealing drugs, prostitution, etc. which is very rare for common citizens.
The most important is a genuine real relationship and USC always on your side. You are a USC FAMILY now and the future US citizen, voter, our government welcomes you as part of our country. Yes you are right about this. Once they see you ain’t using their USC for greencard. You are good to go. |
