i entered purely on merit 4 MBBS ,what i'm trying to say is dat even if u read, and u don't make d ryt choices, u might just end up achieving nothing. D guy who had 72 should have at least been considered on merit second choice or not. Anyway no hard feelings. I wzn't rlly expecting Lasu admissn, i focused more on my 1st choice.

Religion / Are We Really Living In The Last Days? by DrGboy(m): 7:15pm On Oct 08, 2012
News headlines are predominantly shocking, all we hear are crimes, wars, rumour of wars, sexual immorality, global disasters, economic problems, etc.
Are we truly living in the last days as Jesus Christ prophecied in the bible? , most of our moral ethic values have long waned away. The domination of the illuminati, the New world order, the nuclear threat to eliminate Israel ,the mark of the beast which would take effect in USA by march next year, the mayan doomsday prophecy ,and most importantly the evolution of a one world religion CHRISLAM.
Does this events all sum up to the return of our Lord Jesus Christ?

@Dr. Gboy, it depends on the country u're willing to go. I am in the carribean and it's a little bit expensive(compared to nigeria) but cheaper (compared to other carribean and american universities). Although, countries like Ukraine and Hungary seem to be a lot cheaper also. All in all, it depends on your financial status or whoever is sponsoring you. But studying abroad is not easy oh(for an average nigerian).

kk, thanks alot 4 d info.as 4 now i'll stay here in 9ja, later i might study in university of kansas.

Amb Fitsaint: Hello medics and medics to be.
I am a staunch and a die hard medical aspirant of any reputable medical school.
Medicine has cost me 2 gud years.
I did jamb last year with 251 and 257 in jamb and oau postjamb respectively.(cutoff was 295)
I had 60%(may be 70%) in lautech also.
This year, i had d gusto and determination to score @ least 280 in jamb but unfortunately I had 245, I later changed my institution to eksu to secure more changes of getting medicine.
@ d end.. I had 69.1%. I didnt make it in d 1st list due to indigene tosh(doe peeps wirh 64% made it in catchment).
I av given up on eksu since d mbbs has not been accredited.
Now, I know no one denies me of my admission but my mediocrity.
I did oaupd entrance with 79% dis year with d sole aim of getting medicine next year.
Pls, I want pep up talk and encouraging words 4rm docs in dis rum so as for me not to give up on my dream. pls, what were ur challenges b4 getting admission to study MBBS.
I av always dreamt of setting d pace in d medical world.
I am set now to step out of my mediocrity which has made my dream unrealistic.
Pls, how true is stories of dose using 3-6 years b4 getting medicine?
Thanks.

i don't know much about those who use 3-6yrs b4 getting d opportunity to study medicine, but i wrote JAMB only once and i'm now a fresher at unilag grin with a jamb score of 242 and post utme of 82.5% . Maybe u need to do ur homework really damn well, work while others are playing, read while others are sleeping and most importantly put ur trust in God, dat's all. And also never try to pass thru d backdoor in JAMB no matter d fustration, post utme will separate d seed 4rm d chaff.
CHEERS!!!

A STUDENT DO A LAPAROTOMY, HERNIORRAPHY, OR AN APPENDECTOMY??

The highest a student can do is to set line, insert catheter, and maybe apply sutures on minor cuts, etc... But all those major operations.... HA HA HA HA!!! Even ordinary registrars are dreaming of doing that...

at least even though d major operations are not meant 4 us, we could still drain absseces, and use d catheter to treat thrombosis, plaques and arterioscleriosis. At what stage are we able 2 operate on a patient without any restriction?
Islam for Muslims / Re: Muslims Fight To Defend Their Prophet And Christians Dont? by DrGboy(m): 10:57am On Oct 03, 2012
Fellow brethren. Dis issue of Christianity vs Islam is an unending argument. We are presently living in d last days ,dat's why Jesus Christ said if d world hates u, rmbr it hated me first. That is exactly what we are facing pure hatred 4 d truth.d world loves d darkness and refuses d light. Unless we all come 2geda and humble ourselves b4 YAHWEH, he will heal our land.

LOL....

But please try and develop interest in it, that is the only way u can enjoy it...

Moreover, there are better ways of making money: forex, oil and gas, selling online ebooks, marketing, business, etc

there are better ways of making money, but none of those proffesions demand such great awe and respect as medicine does. Saving sm1 4rm d cold hands of death is d best gift u can give sm1. Although i had dis flair 4 mathematics which enticed me 2 engineering. On a second thought, medicine according 2 my definition is d ENGINEERING OF LYF. In medical school, THERE IS NO ROOM FOR OVER SYLLABUS!!!!

Let me tell u the truth, you cannot cover up the whole syllabus!!! Even if u think u can, u cram all the chaurasia, gannong, etc the silly examiner can just set one silly question that can make u sweat under the a/c!!!

My advice is to read all u can and leave the rest to God... #shikena

thanks 4 d advice.i really appreciate it.
