I see no reason to be in a hurry, these courses are quite voluminous, especially anatomy. The numerous volumes of anatomy is enough to literally fracture the suture joint of the head if placed on the skull.

I'm also enjoying every moment of this ASUU strike, because this might be one of the best hols u might have in a very long time.

Have fun too , but don't let those books lie low.

Religion / Share your Repentance Prayer Here by DrGboy(m): 10:40pm On Sep 21, 2013
Heaven is a few moments away.
Alot of us have all gone astray from God's love. Knowing the earth itself is gradually getting ready for the epic return of our king, i'm using this medium to reach out to all nairalanders, enough of the arguments, bitterness, selfishness , anger, malice.

I believe it's time to get serious with Christ himself. Please share your repentance prayer here.

May God forgive our sins and draw us more deeper into his glorious ineffable presence. Then we can shine as lights for the whole word to see.

21. A student in
your class will
have intimate relationships with
an attending or
resident.
22. After the first
two years are
over, your
summer breaks
will no longer
exist. Enjoy
them as much
as you can.
23. You’ll be sleep
deprived.
24. There will be
times on certain
rotations where
you won’t be
allowed to eat.
25. You will be
pimped.
26. You’ll wake up
one day and
ask yourself is
this really what
you want out of
life.
27. You’ll party a
lot during the
first two years,
but then that
pretty much
ends at the
beginning of
your junior
year.
28. You’ll probably
change your
specialty of
choice at least
4 times.
29. You’ll spend a
good deal of
your time
playing social
worker.
30. You’ll learn that
medical
insurance
reimbursement
is a huge
problem,
particularly for
primary care
physicians.
31. Nurses will
treat you badly,
simply because
you are a
medical
student.
32. There will be
times when
you’ll be
ignored by your
attending or
resident.
33. You will
develop a thick
skin. If you fail
to do this,
you’ll cry often.
34. Public
humiliation is
very
commonplace in
medical
training.
35. Surgeons are
assholes. Take
my word for it
now.
36. OB/GYN
residents are
treated like
shit, and that
shit runs
downhill. Be
ready to pick it
up and sleep
with it.
37. It’s always the
medical
student’s fault.
38. Gunner is a
derogatory
word. It’s
almost as bad
as racial slurs.
39. You’ll look
forward to the
weekend, not
so you can
relax and have
a good time but
so you can
catch up on
studying for the
week.
40. Your house
might go
uncleaned for
two weeks
during an
intensive exam
block.
41. As a medical
student on
rotations, you
don’t matter. In
fact, you get in
the way and
impede
productivity.
42. There’s a fair
chance that you
will be
physically struck
by a nurse,
resident, or
attending
physician. This
may include
slapped on the
hand or kicked
on the shin in
order to
instruct you to
“move” or “get
out of the way.”
43. Any really bad
procedures will
be done by
you. The
residents don’t
want to do
them, and
you’re the low
man on the
totem pole.
This includes
rectal
examinations
and digital
disimpactions.
44. You’ll be
competing
against the best
of the best, the
cream of the
crop. This isn’t
college where
half of your
classmates are
idiots.
Everybody in
medical school
is smart.
45. Don’t think that
you own the
world because
you just got
accepted into
medical school.
That kind of
attitude will
humble you
faster than
anything else.
46. If you’re in it
for the money,
there are much
better, more
efficient ways to
make a living.
Medicine is not
one of them.
47. Anatomy sucks.
All of the bone
names sound
the same.
48. If there is
anything at all
that you’d
rather do in
life, do not go
into medicine.
49. The competition
doesn’t end
after getting
accepted to
medical school.
You’ll have to
compete for
class rank,
awards, and
residency. If
you want to do
a fellowship,
you’ll have to
compete for
that too.
50. You’ll never
look at
weekends the
same again.

CONGRATS to all newly admitted medical school, u've finally conquered d rigorous admission process in dis country.
Here are some important things you need to know b4 u start this journey:
Simple enough, here
are 50 things you
wish you knew before
starting medical
school.
1. If I had known
what it was
going to be
like, I would
never have
done it.
2. You’ll study
more than you
ever have in
your life.
3. Only half of
your class will
be in the top
50%. You have
a 50% chance
of being in the
top half of your
class. Get used
to it now.
4. You don’t need
to know
anatomy before
school starts.
Or pathology.
Or physiology.
5. Third year
rotations will
suck the life out
you.
6. Several people
from your class
will have intimate relationships
with each
other. You
might be one of
the lucky
participants.
7. You may
discover early
on that
medicine isn’t
for you.
8. You don’t have
to be AOA or
have
impeccable
board scores to
match
somewhere –
only if you’re
matching into
radiology.
9. Your social life
may suffer
some.
10. Pelvic exams
are teh suck.
11. You won’t be a
medical student
on the surgery
service. You’ll
be the retractor
bitch.
12. Residents will
probably ask
you to retrieve
some type of
nourishment for
them.
13. Most of your
time on
rotations will be
wasted. Thrown
away. Down the
drain.
14. You’ll work with
at least one
attending
physician who
you’ll want to
beat the shit
out of.
15. You’ll work with
at least three
residents who
you’ll want to
beat the shit
out of.
16. You’ll ask a
stranger about
the quality of
their stools.
17. You’ll ask post-
op patients if
they’ve farted
within the last
24 hours.
18. At some point
during your
stay, a
stranger’s
bodily fluids will
most likely
come into
contact with
your exposed
skin.
19. Somebody in
your class will
flunk out of
medical school.
20. You’ll work 14
days straight
without a single
day off.
Probably
multiple times.

Religion / Re: A Thread For Atheists, Skeptics, Agnostics, deists, Irreligious etc! by DrGboy(m): 10:58pm On Aug 19, 2013
Hi everyone, i just want to a pass a very important mssg.

first of all, creating this thread won't give u PEACE, it can never give u that succour or comfort u've been looking for.
Fine u've finally been able to convince yourself ( which obviously took alot of effort to do) that God does not exist. Well the devil himself didn't have the courage to do that.
Let's not deceive ourselves, u made that decision because of your selfish personal interest, no wonder CHRIST himself said the road is very NARROW and only FEW find it.

Living a life without CHRIST is full of crisis, suicidal thoughts, jealousy, hatred, fear, anger, lust. This life u hv is very short, very very very SHORT!
u won't wake up every day and come to nairaland to express ur bitterness, someday u're gonna say bye bye to dis world. Then u'll find out that nothing else matters.

obviously, if u're so certain that God doesn't exist, then why don't u die for what u believe in, or perhaps has any atheist every ressurected from the dead. CHRIST died to prove a point.

U might rain abuses on my post, but remember one day u'll exit dis world and i must tell u d gospel is d only TRUTH dat u can find, not only that it gives us peace, joy, hope, love, grace to live above sin and most importantly PARADISE.
HEAVEN or HELL the choice is yours, someday in d future i'm 100% sure u'll rmbr dis post, i pray it won't be too LATE by then.

PEACE!!!

Religion / Is It Possible To Live Without Sin? by DrGboy(m): 8:24am On Aug 18, 2013
Considering the high degree of pervertness and immorality in the world today, I really ask myself if it is actually possible to live a completely sinless life at least even for a month ( without jealousy, contempt, lies, bitterness , anger e.t.c)

I wonder if it is actually possible ?

Religion / Re: CHRISLAM !!!!!: One World Religion Emerging. by DrGboy(m): 7:33am On Aug 17, 2013
Ishak Akintola, a religion
scholar at nearby Lagos
State University, told
PRI the spiritual basis for
the merger is sound:
“The Bible concentrates on
teachings of love; that’s
what Jesus says in Matthew:
Chapter Five, that you love
your neighbor and you
even love your enemy. Now
you find the Qur’an saying
exactly the same thing.”
And there are those
academics who predictably
think Chrislam is
wonderful. Anthropologist
Mara Leichtman at
Michigan State University
notes:
“According to Islam, the
prophet Muhammad was
the final prophet, but
certainly not the only
prophet; and they believe
in Jesus and all of the other
prophets of Judaism and
Christianity that came
before the prophet
Muhammad,” “So it’s
nothing foreign to a Muslim
to believe in Jesus, to pray
in Jesus, to light a candle
for the Virgin Mary, for
example, as I’ve
experienced Muslims do in
churches in Senegal.”
However, Alan Wisdom,
director of the Presbyterian
Action committee and vice
president for research and
programs at the Institute on
Religion & Democracy
contends that Islam should
never be viewed as an
equal to the gospel of Jesus
Christ. Moreover, Qurans
should never be placed next
to God’s Holy Word, he
says. He told writer Chad
Groening at the news site
OneNewsNow:
“The Bible is God’s unique
revelation to us. The pulpit
of a church is for preaching
the Word of God, and we
believe that that is the
scriptures of the Old and
New Testament. When we
go to worship God, we
worship Jesus Christ, and
we can’t mix that worship
with any other allegiance.”
Wisdom said that while he
believes it is important for
Christians to study and
understand religions like
Islam, he does not think
believers should ever cross
the line and blend
Christianity together with a
religion that is “antithetical
to Christian teachings.”

Religion / Re: CHRISLAM !!!!!: One World Religion Emerging. by DrGboy(m): 7:27am On Aug 17, 2013
In Nigeria, Shamsuddin
Saka seeks to bridge the
religious divide. However,
notes Fred de Sam Lazaro
for “The World” radio
program on Public Radio
International :
It doesn’t take much to
spark religious violence in
the West African nation of
Nigeria. Just this past
weekend, rioting erupted in
the town of Bauchi after
Muslims parked their cars
in front of a church. Bauchi
lies along a line between
Nigeria’s mainly Muslim
north and the Christian
south. Tensions in the
region often spill over into
violence, but one man is
trying to bridge the gap. He
preaches a liturgy that
blends Christianity and
Islam.
Of hundreds of small
churches in Lagos, this
likely is the only one that
has both a Bible and a
Qur’an on the lectern. The
invocations come loudly
from both. Practitioners of
what the preacher calls
‘Chrislam,’ fifteen 1,500 on
some Sundays, see no
religious fault line.
Saka preaches that
Christians and Muslims are
both children of Abraham
— which is historically
accurate, according to both
the Bible, the Koran and
DNA studies.
Saka was born Muslim, and,
the PRI report notes: ” it
was after returning from a
Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca
that he was inspired – he
says instructed by God – to
launch his new ministry:
“That was about 19 years
ago. I was praying and I
[laid] down and the Lord
told me, make peace
between Christian and
Muslim.”
Religion / Re: CHRISLAM !!!!!: One World Religion Emerging. by DrGboy(m): 7:25am On Aug 17, 2013
The concept is likely to be
embraced by a few non-
fundamentalists on either
side of the divide, such
as Universalists, Unitarians
and maybe some Buddhists.
There are Hindus and
Shinto faithful who are
willing to add Christianity
and Islam to their belief
spectrum — rejecting that
there is any single path to
God.
However, Christianity has
at its very core that Jesus is
the only way to heaven —
and that eternal salvation is
a gift of grace, earned for
mankind by Christ’s
crucifixion. Islam holds the
firm view that eternal
damnation awaits those
who do not earn salvation
by submiting to the
requirements of the Koran,
which describes Jesus as a
noteworthy prophet who
didn’t really die on the
cross.
Religion / CHRISLAM !!!!!: One World Religion Emerging. by DrGboy(m): 7:24am On Aug 17, 2013
Are Christianity and Islam
about to merge in to a
worldwide mega-religion
called Chrislam?
Popular TV preacher Jack
Van Impe recently ended
his decades-long run on
Trinity Broadcasting
Network after he publicly
accused California
megachurch founder Rick
Warren of mixing Christian
and Muslim beliefs. TBN
pulled the episode before a
repeat broadcast could air
— prompting Impe to
announce he could no
longer work with TBN.
Van Impe and his co-host
wife, Rexella, cited
Warren’s speech to an
Islamic conference in
Washington in 2009
and Warren’s invocation at
President Obama’s
inaguration that invoked
the name of Jesus in several
languages. They claimed
Warren said churches can
attract new believers by
taking crosses down from
inside and outside their
buildings.
Warren, however, has
said exactly the opposite:
“If you remove the cross
from the church, it’s no
longer the church. Just a
social club.”
Is Chrislam the religion
of the future? Science-
fiction author Arthur C.
Clarke, who wrote 2001: A
Space Odyssey, may have
been the first to coin the
term — as a futuristic
religion he imagined.

Sir Lagusta( you are already a Doctor), how many hours per day did you use to sleep when you were in Medical school? Other Drs and Medical Students in the house, pls CONTRIBUTE. Thanks.
