Its a waste of time and investment for anyone from the east that wants to run for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
They should rather channel the energy to achieving Biafra, what will they get by being president on a sinking ship?

They should ask the captain of the Titanic how he felt at the bottom of the ocean.

I really don't understand what is going on here. There are no competition between any of the Eastern areas. We are happy with all areas in our region. Is this what a full grown man like you is doing with your life? What can we call these? Jealousy or what? Why people are using their resources and life to work for the good of the Entire region, you are shaming us with this type of behavior and attitude.

Do you think it will end with Enugu? You will eventually criticize Imo, Ebonyi and Anambra and even criticize Abia some day. You may even start to Jealous your friends and family members if care is not taken. It starts gradually and eventually comes with bigger targets. Criticizing is not bad in itself but this aren't normal criticism but pure wicked and unnecessary Jealousy of another Region that share same blood with you. Imagine if everyone start fighting the development due for Abia or Imo or any other place, how we gonna develop.

Use this energy you used to write this trash and write Business plan or a book, it will be much better.

Brother I love all region and wish development could over take everywhere and better life for our people.

Am not criticizing you as a person but am criticizing the wicked heart that prompted you to write this. That heart won't help you and that's why you need to fight it.

@Dr Goodman, Excellent points. However, learn to walk first before trying to run. We cannot be talking mechanized farming at this point. We don't have the enabling environments, infrastructure, preservation, logistics, skilled manpower etc to support it. Ban importation, that will support local production and drive up the cost of food production, that will in turn drive more people into Agriculture like it's currently happening, (i have three classmates that are big time farmers and employers of labor as well). Just like Sanusi said, you want to have overhead bridges in Kano, for what? for farmers to take their produce from the farm to the city? We do not need to copy America, UK, etc, and start large scale mechanized farming which has lots of disadvantages like overproduction, genetically assisted growing, obesity, etc. Dont get me wrong, i am not saying go to farm with hoe and cutlass or have the continuation of Transhumance, Nope, but again, not large scale mechanized farming. I am talking about taking the middle lane because that is where we are realistically speaking.
That is why I said the policy is meant to impoverish the people and you didn't understand. grin

Excellent point. However, don't you think this policy will kick start and necessitate the rush to manufacturing? Most especially with our mega corruption? I live in the USA, i send things home, whenever i go to send things home, the place is full of Nigerians buying tin tomatoes, rice from Sams club etc to send to Nigeria. Now based on Naira vs $$ exchange rate, that has drastically reduced and almost stopped. Even me that charter used clothes and send as gifts, its not viable anymore, its better sending the money. Also, i now hear of Lake rice,(LAgos and KEbbi) Ebonyi rice, Awka rice etc. Many rice production in Nigeria now. What do you think of all that?
Your types are those who think food production must remain at the subsistence levels forever, plus herding cattle into bushes everywhere, so so old.

We are the set of people who knows that farming rice in large scale, animal husbandry in big scale, tomato and fresh food farming must be mechanized, that's why we demand for power before any bans on imports.

Ban on imports without an enabling environment to farm is licenced starvation.

Tankio.

@DrGoodman, i sincerely want to learn and understand where you're coming from. Please educate me on your economic perspective.
Shutting down imports when you lack power for manufacturing is economic suicide. Economics 101

Haba Bros, use your head naa. I am not a Buhari 2nd term fan, however, are you not aware our major wahala is our dependence on importation for "food" and fertilizer? You want to keep importing food? You dont want to feed yourselves? Same with Generator, are you not aware if we ban these things that is how we will be forced to depend on ourselves?
You don't know anything about any economy. Go and sleep.

NaMeAboki:
Do you mean to say that during the Jonathan and pre-Jonathan PDP era that petrol was freely available and guaranteed at the filling stations without frequent long queues due to scarcity - especially at Christmas and other holidays?
How time flies and how some choose to develop selective amnesia.
Fuel was largely available all through Jonathan era, except when the north wanted to sabotage his government. Fuel was also scarce in the early part of this administration. Kiss the truth, you won't die.
