Vcojuro:
For aspirants and those who are yet to make decision on whether to study medicine,

so far since my journey into medical, I won't say it's totally a smooth one. There are lots of up and down, the joy, happiness, the disappointments, stress and various challenges, I and my colleague encountered.
Medicine has a way of making you look like a mediocre(obviously most of us were the best in our former schools). Most of us were told stories about how students who were on 7.0 in their first year were sent packing out of medical schools. We were told disheartening stories about how people who after years of utme attempts were asked to withdraw because they couldn't cope.
We have heard lots of them, but we don't allow fear to conquer us, we have always offered word of encouragement to one another. We believe that since we have started the journey, we must finish it.
Some of you have various motivation for choosing medicine e.g prestige, job security, peer pressure, love for children, wealth, love for the sick and others but please make sure that your reasons or motivations for choosing medicine should be able to keep you motivated throughout your stay in med school because believe me med school is really tough if not extremely stressful, you spend 6 to 7years of your life reading, writing series of tests and participating in academic activities. You tend to have a reduced to zero social life, you are always glued to your books throughout the day. I can't count the number of sleepless night, You read through out the night till dawn, because there are loads of material to read, a medical student will understand what I mean.
Motivation keeps you fired throughout your stay in med school and makes you forget about the whole stress.
Also learn how to set goals and priorities as it will enable you to make good use of your time and ensure proper time management. Believe me, the greatest enemy of medical students is Time.

And to my esteemed colleagues i.e doctors in training, I salute your doggedness and your zeal to push on in face of adversaries. I respect all of you, especially those who braved all odds and make it this far despite all the fears and insult(I remember a certain lecturer telling my colleague in front of the whole class, that he had no brain and ought not to be med school)and "shoe size scores" .
Special gratitude to Dr lomaxx, I read some of his comments and observations, they were quite helpful.
Lastly I will tell you this, "no motivation is totally good or evil". Either your motivation is to acquire wealth, help others, job security or to treat the sick, it's definitely not evil or good but use your motivation to help humanity, by so doing you leave the world a better place than you met it.

My prob abt athiest is that they will always have a double mind concerning anything Christian exploit but yet they wont make bold step to do the needful by privately investigating the scenario to help there misbelief but rather argue online with christian that has little logical insight and probably win the argument ..

My waec's just C's and B's, frnds say they dont consider that so ...
u said u hd 292 and i said i see the light ..
ur friend with 283 too. good to go..

DONT HOLD ME WORD FOR WORD O..
AM NOT PART OF ADMISSION COMMITTEE
Maybe i should make it clear..
only those doing the admission statistic(admission board) knows the cut off they use and how they arrive weather waec was used or not.. nobody knows...but they requested for waec during screening ..nobidy knows weather it was part of calc exept admin board which was hidden to the public
last year cut off wasnt known. everybody are just tryna guess.

Am just saying the talk of 280 as last yr cut off.. cant say much coz post ume 280 was the general cut off for merit @2015.
just saying maybe thats where the rumour of 280 comes..
u know how rumour spread na..

BASIC STUDY
1.. Guy stop am..better stop that lie from the pit of hell..
i can swear that out of 28 that was admiited in 2015 basic program..15 from rivers and 13 non indigens ... non of us paid a dime...who are those ur friend that told u non indigene must pay.. now they made u change to anatomy..nawa o
half of the list was indigen on merit..
..remaining half was non indigen with merit scores...

dnt paint uniport black o..
i dnt say its corruption free but uniport is trying to reward excellence esp MBBS admission.

Hi everyone, am a medical student aspirant. To God be the glory, after completing my basic program in uniport, i scored 276 in my first JAMB, This yr and i was feelin i wouldnt make it to med surg but JAMB canceled it and i was stil scared . I read like neva b4 and went for the exam, emerging wit 292!
So my question is am i there already cus according to som friends in uniport the cut off is 280 4 last yr? Thanks for ur contributn
280 ..not sure that was last year sha coz
my time it was 280 post ume for merit list.. maybe that was where 280 rumour came from. although sha o.. hmm

but with 292 ..seeing d light... ur waec result nko..anyway

tempted to ask how was ur basic result.. u can be sure of MBBS admission with ur basic score after doing some private statistic.. uniport basic dont do wayo.. ur ginger earn u ur shot without denial. so transparent wit MBBS list ..dnt know for other course.

it well bro.. that's why one has to know the modalities that schools use in admission before diving into them..... that score and his waec grade could have given him admission on merit list in another school... bro seems uniport uses combination of ya jamb and o'level?
cant just say.. dey never aired out there mode..

maybe a thorough survey of those admitted will give an insight.... but with A&B @waec and 300 in jamb cant b denied na..haaa ..we go carry den go court jor

beside uniport quota has been increased from 100 to 130...
.saw that on mdcn web also confirmed from current yr1 guys..

issue of combine waec... i ll confim from a friend and update asap

Lol.
I used only last anatomy and at times i used Richard Snell for the clinical stuffs (those boxes).
The lesson I learnt is this, in Med school, you don't actually need too many books... Just make very good use of the one you have. Last was my best friend when people were busy carrying massive books like Keith Moore et al, about.
I read last to the point that I lost count, I am talking about over 35 times. And most of the time, I didn't use atlast and it helped solidified my imaginative abilities. See, at that point... I knew that anatomy was in my blood, and I was not scared of anything, not even getting a distinction. Immediately I finished my anatomy exams, i knew that a distinction was imminent, and I didn't shake a bit.

The lesson is this. You can achieve anything when you commit yourself thoroughly to what you do.
My regret is that, my love for anatomy distracted me from giving much attention to other courses, but at the end. I was happy.
.35 times.. jesu

lol... ure right boss..sticking to one is cool, but my combo help me understand better with ease and b a good stuff mover..
just like wen i read liver with charausia, went to last , i flow well with some added point..

If u read surface markings of liver with last anat alone , it isnt enough, u might b surprise wen i tell u tinz last didnt mention as i merge it with charausia surface markings , it makes my friends whu read last alone become dump while we do d oral talk of anatomy.

i like ur talk on reading without atlas after a while..it works well in exam@using ur imagination of atlas smtimes

lol sometimes anatomy will be pushing u as if its the only course in Basic med science till close to exam wen u realise BCH wont forgive u..

Balancing in all course is the key though..
