Actress Faithia Williams has wowed fans with a lovely photo of her dazzling in a white gown to celebrate her 53rd birthday, Igbere TV reports.
The beautiful actress shared the photo on Instagram on Saturday.
“It is with great pleasure that I am here to celebrate another year of my life. I am grateful for surviving all the challenges throughout the last 365 days and turning a year older….Happy Birthday to Me,” she wrote.
Faithia also shared another photo of her rocking a stunning attire.
Captioning the photo, she wrote: “Happy birthday to a self-willed, strong, and beautiful soul. Yes, you got it right! I am turning a year older today. HBD to me…Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah.”
Actress Funke Akindele has said that she hopes parents withdraw their children from Dowen College after the school announced it is reviewing its policies following the death of its student Sylvester Oromoni, Igbere TV reports.
Reacting in an Instagram story on Friday, Funke said: “I hope all parents have withdrawn their children from the school. I’m so worried for children in boarding schools. A lot goes on there.”
Oromoni died under controversial circumstances in November 2021. He was alleged to have been attacked by a group of senior students for refusing to join their cult. But the state government said it could not establish a case of complicity.
The state government had ordered the indefinite closure of the school pending the outcome of an investigation into the matter.
However, in a statement on Thursday, the school shared its plans for the future.
Part of the statement read, “The Dowen College Family has had to rethink how best to reassure the public of our best intentions and how the interest of all parties can best be served in sustaining and growing the good and privileged legacy of the school.
“We have worked on enhancing our safeguarding, monitoring processes and policies to ensure better oversight functions within the school. We are also reviewing our policies with our parents, staff and students to ensure strict compliance and best practices are adhered to going forward.”
Actress Eniola Badmus has said that the attention she receives following her weight loss is overwhelming, Igbere TV reports.

According to her, she feels like a new born baby, adding that the weight loss is the start of a new journey.

The young girl who was subjected to the cruel treatment has been identified as Hafsat. The Northern Hibiscus disclosed that Hafsat has been undergoing bad treatment at the mercy of her stepmother since her biological mother left her father.

Actress Stella Damasus on Tuesday shared a video of herself teaching Nigerians how to pronounce her surname, Igbere TV reports.
The mother of two uploaded the video on Instagram.
“A lot has happened recently with my surname, first of all, I am not here to destroy anybody’s childhood but some people have asked me for the right pronunciation since I said my name is not Damascus, my name is really not Damascus, there is no C in my name. My name is Stella Damasus, that is the name, it’s not Damascus,” she said.
Stella has been tutoring social media users on the correct spelling of her surname.
Tired of people calling her Damascus, which is the capital city of Syria and the oldest capital in the world, the 43-year-old attempted to set the record straight in a tweet on Sunday.
“My name is Stella Damasus, not Damascus,” she wrote.
What many do not now know, however, is that her family’s original name was Ojukwu.
The mother of two disclosed the reason behind the change of name in an interview with BBC Igbo last year.
Speaking in the Igbo language the actress explained that during the civil war, Nigerian soldiers thought her family was related to the late Odumegwu Ojukwu who led the Biafran Army, which prompted the change of name.
“My surname is Ojukwu but during the Biafran war, Nigerian soldiers thought that we are related to the family of Odumegwu Ojukwu. That is the reason for the change,” she said.
She explained that Nigerian soldiers killed many of her father’s kin in Asaba because they shared the same surname with Ojukwu.
Due to the crisis, her grandfather decided that the family should adopt his first name Damasus (a Greek name) to keep them safe.
Veteran actress Joke Silva will star as Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti in the forthcoming biopic Funmilayo: The Lioness of Lisabi based on the life of the late activist.

Actress Adesua Etomi says her musician husband Banky W is now doing music the way he wants it, Igbere TV reports.
Adesua, who has a son with Banky, stated in a post to Instagram on Thursday that she is happy with the phase where he is and how he is telling his story through music.

The AMA Awards, are presented annually to recognize excellence among professionals working in, or non-African professionals who have contributed to, the African film industry, Igbere TV reports.
It was founded by Peace Anyiam-Osigwe and is run through the Africa Film Academy. The awards are aimed at honouring and promoting excellence in the African movie industry as well as uniting the African continent through arts and culture.
The award was attended by AMMA nominees Rita Dominic, Funke Akindele, Gloria Anozie Young. Others include JJC Skillz, Paul Obazeli, Maureen Solomon, Gideon Okeke, Keppy Bassey, Bimbo Manuel and Dayo Amusa.
Nollywood divas Funke Akindele-Bello and Rita Dominic both lost the best actress category to their Ugandan colleague Joan Agaba.
