The Nigerian team, led by the Head of the Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has emerged as a guiding light of diplomatic leadership at the ongoing 148th Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva, Switzerland, receiving global praise for their united efforts to tackle the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. In an announcement released by the House Spokesperson and Chairman of the House Committee on Media & Public Relations, Rep. Akin Rotimi Jr., it was highlighted that the Akpabio-headed Nigerian Delegation stood steadfast in mobilizing parliamentarians from around the globe to uphold the fundamental principles of humanity. The House Spokesperson, echoing the sentiments of the Senate President, stated that Senator Akpabio’s persuasive plea during the discussion on the addition of an emergency item to the IPU Assembly agenda struck a chord with lawmakers worldwide. He advocated for members to put aside personal agendas and collaborate in crafting a comprehensive resolution, showcasing Nigeria’s steadfast dedication to global peace and humanitarian values. “This is a solitary voice representing Nigeria. We exerted our utmost efforts in Angola but failed to unite in addressing the Gaza situation. Today, the world anticipates action from us. We must set aside our egos. It matters not which country proposes a motion. The core principles of humanity dictate that we depart with resolutions for the betterment of the world: demonstrating our compassion,” remarked Senator Akpabio. Recalling Kalu’s commitment to SDG 16, Rotimi highlighted, “Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Kalu, a Member of the Nigerian Delegation, reiterated Nigeria’s dedication to Parliamentary Action for Peace, Justice, and Robust Institutions (SDG 16) last October, urging IPU members to strive tirelessly towards its attainment.” He underscored that a crisis in any corner of the globe affects all, reflecting Nigeria’s proactive stance on international matters. The 148th IPU Assembly, themed “Parliamentary Diplomacy: Constructing Bridges for Peace and Comprehension,” serves as a crucial platform for delegates to engage in meaningful discussions on pressing global issues. The proactive approach of the Nigerian delegation in advocating for the inclusion of an emergency item on the IPU agenda, leading to substantive deliberations on the Gaza crisis, has earned them accolades from the global community. OrderPaper recollects that Akpabio, accompanied by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, and others, led Nigeria’s delegation to the 148th Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva, Switzerland. Other delegates include Senators Asuquo Ekpenyong, Osita Ngwu, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, and Ibrahim Dankwambo, alongside Reps. Victor Abang, Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala, and Marie Ebikake. The House of Representatives applauds the Nigerian delegation for their unwavering commitment and the international acclaim they have garnered. This underscores Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to promoting global peace, security, and humanitarianism, reaffirming its pivotal role on the global stage.

UEFA will permit Manchester United to participate in the Europa League should they qualify, despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe remaining the owner of Nice. According to UEFA's new regulations, teams owned by the same proprietors will not be permitted to enter the same competitions. This implies that under such rules, United would have been ineligible for Europa League participation next season, as their new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, holds the majority share at Ligue 1 side Nice. Erik ten Hag's squad currently holds the sixth position in the Premier League, and if they maintain this standing, they will secure qualification for the Europa League. However, Nice also occupies a similar position. In such a scenario, Nice would have been granted entry to the competition, given their higher league position compared to that of the Red Devils. Nonetheless, the Daily Mail reports that UEFA General Secretary Theodore Theodoridis attended the league clash between United and West Ham at Old Trafford on February 4. Following the match, Theodoridis purportedly engaged in discussions with the English club and assured that the matter would be addressed. |

[quote author=negaiyke post=127280975]Physics Students should know, but unfortunately most don't Electrostatic Induction Discharge Have you ever observed that when you touch some surface like your hairs or curtains or items or people's body, it would shock you ..... especially during harmattan or dry weather ??Well is because of static electric charges that has accumulated on the surface of the object. Now it is very dangerous for such static energy to accumulate on a highly flammable gas or objects, such as gas cylinders or tankers. Therefore that nets helps absorb and discharges those currents, when a tanker is parked for a while, they tie a chain from the body of the tanker to the ground to for same discharge reason [It's a pity how you make lies looks like the truth...You better shut up and stop spitting nonsense....Quack physics knowledge.] |
