Those countries have checks and balances in place that will ensure that an elected person does not use his office to his advantage during nomination and elections. We don’t have that in NIGERIA now.

That’s not true. Even though the appeal court gave that opinion but the main ruling is that the appeal was upheld due to lack of locus standi in the initial case. So, this rubbishes all the high court judgement. The Attorney General will have to bring another case with locus standi before that partial advice from appeal court judgement can be upheld. And in that case, it will be too late for that amendment of the electoral Act to be removed. Remember that primaries must be held by this month.

For me with experience both sides, he is likely to have got someone else. Such is really needed for people who want to settle down with a visa. You should send a last message to him that if he does not respond you will move on and assume he is no more interested.

APC must hear this now. They are digging their own graves if they field Jonathan through any means: consensus or no consensus. I am 100% sure that he will be challenged in the court of law where the newly amended Electoral Act forbidding the fielding of a former VP who has been sworn in twice from contesting election. He will also be challenged in court if imposed on other aspirants. I am sure someone like Tinubu will go through that route after getting negative shoulder from party mechanism. If Jonathan loses in court on either fronts, it will be too late to replace him by INEC and as in the case of Zamfara, the party will be disqualified from fielding any candidate for presidential election.
Any groups like Jigawa Governor and Yobe Governor conversing for Jonathan are the enemies of APC. You will all quote me and remember my warning in the future.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s engagement ahead of his 2023 presidential election bid has continued to receive increasing appeal, this time in Gombe State.

Welcoming Osinbajo to the state, Yahaya said: “Today is yet another remarkable occasion, because on many occasions, the Vice President has been coming to the state as Vice President; but this time around, he has come to interact with our delegates, preparatory to the primaries of our ruling party, the APC, and it is a convention that will produce him, by the Grace of God, as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

In his remarks, Osinbajo thanked the emir and governor for the reception and hospitality accorded him, and the emir’s support at various times.

With the feelers from the National Working Committe of APC, and the presidency, only 4 candidates may be contesting the APC presidential primary. That is if there will be any presidential primary as aspirants are made to sign withrawal clause. The four are:

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who would be backed by 28 aspirants, having voluntarily withdrawn or pressured to withdraw, would give their support to Jonatha

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who would not accept to stepdown, but would be roundly defeated.

Kayode Fayemi, just to prove a point, that he holds Ekiti firmly.

Yemi Osinbajo, would not stepdown for the fact it would be a political suicide.

The North is determined to win it for Jonathan, simple and square. As of now, Jonathan already has 5 states delegates (3 in the North and 2 SS states), without even consulting. In the next couple of weeks, all of SS, SE, NE, NC and 6 of NW states would be queueing behind Jonathan. Thereby leaving Tinubu, Osinbajo and Fayemi to share SW delegates.

OP you must have drank mkpurum mirin early this morning. Everyone in APC knows that there are two possibilities: consensus, where Jonathan would be forced on others and he will split and destroy the party. Another barrage of lawsuits will be placed against him in order to test the new amendment of electoral Act which is unclear about the retrospective application. He risk being disqualified and APC may not have a replacement and may end up not having a presidential candidate. He will definitely lose the election as well if he scales through the hurdles of the court. The second option is indirect primary which Buhari has promised all aspirants. Facts on ground is that Tinubu will win virtually all of the northern NIGERIA and most of southwest votes. He will pick votes here and there in southeast and win the whole south south. So definitely Tinubu will win this primary in a landslide. He will most likely win the general election too depending on how hard the campaign is done. These are the facts, not opinions.
