He said this at an interview on the popular political show on channels TV: Politics today. He also said that he has never lost an election in which he was part of a campaign team. He won in 2003, 2011. He further stated that Peter Obi as no rival or competition. Obasanjo is an igbo man. His father is from Anambra snd mother from Owu. Nwaetche: Some part of South South like Delta and Edo had actually tested Yoruba rule during the first republic.
It is still in history that Mid-west remain the only region created by people voting willingly to leave Western nigeria. The then Oba of Benin was at the forefront of the agitation due to the subjugation from Western Nigeria.
When they eventually got independence, an Igbo man Dennis Chukude Osadebay, a former NCNC leader in Aba in the current Abia state and a native of Asaba became the first premier of Midwest.
So in essence, NCNC headed by Azikiwe was in charge of governement for both the Eastern state( comprising of south south state of Cross river, AKS, RVS and Balyelsa) and Midwest state( comprising of Delta and Edo) before the military takeover and eventual civil war.
People voted willingly to have one party headed by an Igbo man heading the two regions after the mid-west threw away Western government rule.
Your discredited divide and rule only started shortly before, during and after the civil war. They left western region, and was that not a thing of regret for them? Which region developed the most in Nigeria? Which region started free education, free health, brought the first TV station in Africa and many more? If Aguiyi Ironsi did not force Nigeria back to unitary system which IPOB is now fighting against, the western region would have been a developed place by now. |

SilverOrLead: Hello Seun/Mods,
I have been lurking here for some years now but decided to create an account so as to bring to your attention a disturbing trend I have noticed coming mostly from people of the SE who post here.
It concerns their consistent use of the ambiguous "SS/SE" which they subtly are trying to morph into one.
We all know the history of the disastrous old Eastern region and how minorities from the lower Niger were subject to severe marginalization by the majority Igbo.
We also know how all efforts by the so-called minorities to leave the old eastern region was systematically and ruthlessly shutdown by the Igbo majority in Enugu.
We are also not ignorant of what was the prime motive behind the declaration of Biafra after the Gowon military dictatorship created states which saw to the minorities in the old eastern region being carved out.
We also know how Biafra died a natural death after the annexed minority regions were liberated from the Igbo tyranny known as Biafra.
We are also aware of Igbo attempts to repeat this folly in the form of a revamped Biafran project under the Afro Zionists group IPOB.
Now we are seeing attempts by the Igbos to corral the peoples of the SS under a political and social umbrella by consistently and unrelentlessly deploying the ambiguous SS/SE nomenclature in all their posts regarding this coming elections.
To continue allowing this abhorrent and subversive nomenclature to litter this section is tantamount to bowing to both Igbo expansionist and annexation claims of the SS as well as an insult to the independence of the peoples of the SS, thus a support for Biafra restoration and seccessionism.
The SS is a region of diverse people with distinct cultural, political and tribal identities separate from the larger Igbo polity. Yes, we have Igboid peoples but they have always preferred to not have anything to do with the larger Igbo populace .
I suggest that henceforth, all posts that insists on using the ambiguous and paradoxical wordings of SS/SE be auto censored to " SS and SE" or better yet, the post flagged as spam, deleted and the poster banned.
Thank you. Another vawulence declared on Nairaland. Can you increase the vawulence volume please? If SS want to distinguish themselves from se, they must not tow the line of se in politics. If Igbo support obi, you must commit yourself to support Tinubu. Thats how you will carve out your separate identity. |

MikeofAfrica: I asked you to tell me about the expliots of Lagos students in international academic tournaments so that we can verify your claim that anambra did not progress under Obi.
Have you also accepted that Tinubu was a drug Baron hence accepted plea bargain to escape conviction?
Joe Biden is worth less than a billion dollar. Hence even Davido' s father from Osun can be richer than him. However Tinubu boasted he is richer than all the Osun people combined together.
Hence the good people of Osun taught him a lesson by rejecting his cousin twice. He rigged the first election but could not rig the second one. Many infantile statements in your submission i am sorry to say. First of all, Tinubu is not a drug baron. Its all tissues of lies because the US embassy confirmed that. There’s no plea bargain relating to drugs in US. If you caught dealing in drugs, you go to prison. The money taken from his account was for tax on his bank interest. Two, Tinubu was talking about being richer than the government, not the whole people of Osun. And I am sure Obi is also richer than Osun government. Three, Oyetola won that election and Adeleke rigged it by over-voting. Court will decide soon. I hope I have educated you on those few points. |
Politics › Re: Christmas: See Crowd In Front Of Tinubu’s Gate.(video) by drlateef: 6:40pm On Dec 27, 2022 |
MikeofAfrica: Joe Biden is an individual like Peter Obi. Hence there is nothing wrong if Obi is richer than him. Dangote is also richer than both Joe Biden and Donald Trump combined together.
However, Tinubu did not boast of been richer than an individual. He boasted of been richer than a State worth over a billion dollar.
An innocent man will not forfeit his money to the court. It is only when a man accepts that he is guilty of an allegation and is remorseful , that plea bargain will be granted to him. Hence the man will not be convicted of the crime while he forfeit some proceeds of the crime.
Hence for Tinubu to forfeit $460,000 means he accepted been guilty of the accusation of being a drug Baron and was remorseful hence accepting the plea bargain option to avoid conviction.
I told you how students from Anambra state came first in a global Science tournament in Silicon Valley after Peter Obi turned around education in Anambra State. Remember education was at comatose in Anambra from 1999-2003.
Please tell me how Lagos State students performed in that tournament . After that we shall know whether Obi progressed Anambra people or not. I think you are talking nonsense. What’s the wealth of Osun state as compared to Joe Biden or Obi? You are really annoying me with this infantile reasoning. |
Politics › Re: Christmas: See Crowd In Front Of Tinubu’s Gate.(video) by drlateef: 5:39pm On Dec 27, 2022 |
MikeofAfrica: Please show me where I once told you that Tinubu was poor. How can a man caught with drugs in USA be poor? He only used his statue as Governor to multiply his wealth.
I am ashamed that we still have youths like you in Nigeria after what we suffered under APC for 8 years.
A man boasted openly that he is richer than Osun state after looting Lagos for over two decades and you shamelessly want him to become your president.
You want a man who forfeited $460,000 in the United States after being caught with illicit drugs to become your president.
Is it for agbado, or eba, or Amala that you are supporting Tinubu? Obi boasted that he was richer than Joe Biden. Where was Tinubu convicted for stealing. Stop this nonsense beer parlour talk. You don’t think, you believe everything you are told by enemies of progress. Obi did not progress the people of Anambra as a governor. How can he progress the people of Nigeria. Do you wish us retrogression? Tinubu made progress for us in Lagos. That’s what we want for Nigeria. Go away with your bad luck you call Obi Pandora. |
Politics › Re: Christmas: See Crowd In Front Of Tinubu’s Gate.(video) by drlateef: 3:22pm On Dec 27, 2022 |
MikeofAfrica: The issue is that people like you can defend the devil as long as he is from your tribe.
With the kind of Politics we play in Nigeria, no poor man can become the governor of a state. Hence Tinubu was rich when he became Governor in 1999. A man with $1 million in his account is a rich man and can transport people close to him to and from the USA.
In the case of Tinubu, he went from been rich to becoming a dollar billionaire when he became Governor. Do you know what it means to be richer than Osun state? The asset of Osun state is more than a billion dollar.
All the known companies of Tinubu in Nigeria were established either when he was Governor or after he left office. Lagos State Government officials have testify how Tinubu is using aphabeta to loot the State since 1999. The NADECO people that you mentioned have also testify how corrupt Tinubu is.
Tinubu and his cronies kicked out Ambode when he became reluctance to open the purse of Lagos State to them.
Tinubu is the grandfather of corruption in Nigeria. Unfortunately, Nigeria is fill with gullible youths who can sell their destiny because of agbado.
That is the strategy Tinubu is presently using. Lamidi Adedibu did expliots with that strategy in Oyo hence Tinubu wants to take it to the national stage. See you, shifting the goal post. From Tinubu was poor to Tinubu became billionaire? Shame no dey catch you? |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: What Does It Mean To Be A Teacher In The Uk? by drlateef: 8:48am On Dec 27, 2022 |
IyaTola: WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A TEACHER IN THE UK?
Being a teacher in the UK is a horrible experience — it is a taste of hell. I was a teacher in Zimbabwe for over 10 years.
I loved my work; I remember assemblies where children would greet us in chorus. I was proud to be a teacher.
Our students would salute and greet us on the streets, showing us respect. A misbehaving pupil would hide, show remorse on being found out.
The day I left for the UK, I was excited and convinced that I would make an impact as a teacher in the land of the Queen.
According to Mhofu from Luton, teaching in the UK is no walk in the park. Mhofu: “You know, if it wasn’t for teaching, I probably wouldn’t have travelled as much as I did. It was the teaching that got me around the world. But here in the UK, I got a rude awakening.
I got a teaching job at a school in Luton which was touted to be one of the best schools. I was grateful and overjoyed. On my first day in class the children looked at me as if they were seeing a ghost. One child raised his hand and said to me: ‘Are you an idiot’. I was shocked; I was a teacher.
I looked at the child and wanted to hit him but I had been warned never to touch a child or I would die in prison. I pretended I had not heard the child then I heard another say: ‘Hey, are you deaf?’ I was so angry and I walked out to make a complaint to the teacher-in -charge. As I stepped out, the classroom broke into uncontrollable laughter. I had never been insulted by a child and let alone a white one. I was so angry l started shaking.
I walked into the teacher-in-charge’s office. He looked at me and said go and control your class first. I walked back in the class and everything that followed made me sick to my gut. I just had to leave the classroom as l did not trust myself not to take my typical ‘teacher action’ against these wayward children. I went home.
I got a call from the school which informed me that I had been fired because I had no confidence and skills of dealing with children. I then got another job as a teacher. This time, I was called a ‘supply teacher’ who is equivalent to a temporary teacher. The only difference is a supply teacher is a qualified teacher.
I arrived at the school, this time determined to bring some order. As I walked into the classroom, I saw, on the green board, an offensive statement. It was a question: ‘What’s the difference between a monkey and a blackman?’
Just below it was an answer: ‘At least a monkey can climb trees.’ When I asked who wrote that in a very angry voice, the class remained silent.
I turned to the board to rub the offending statement. When I was done and turned to the class, I saw my bag fly out of the window. I got angry and shouted at the class. The head-teacher and a few other teachers rushed to the class. The pupils all rushed to one corner and on seeing the headmaster, they started screaming.
The headmaster, in front of the children told me I was intimidating the kids and making the learning environment a war zone. I told him they had thrown my bag out of the window and had written racist remarks on the board.
The head-teacher said he could see nothing on the board and the kids shouted that they had thrown it out after I had tried to hit them with it. I was asked to go home and reflect on my teaching skills.
The classroom is controlled by children; you must do what they want and you must not dictate to them. The head takes the word of the child against yours. Now I am working towards extracting myself from a career I was passionate about and I ask myself why?
Those who are thinking of teaching here must brace themselves for a torrid time.” According to Paul Taruvinga: I had my interview with a teaching agency in the UK before I finished University.
I was accepted and so when I arrived in London in 2003 on my UK working holiday visa, I was ready to start my teaching career in Hackney, East London, an area I was soon to discover to be one of London’s most challenging.
I wasn’t quite ready to settle into a full time job so I went straight for the supply (casual, substitute) teaching. This meant I was running all over the East End, going to different schools every day. It was a great way for me to get to know the city.
It was also a fantastic way for me to learn how to be an adaptable teacher – different students, different classes every day.
One day I was called to the headmaster’s office; I was informed that a child had complained that I speak so loud that the child is now having sleepless nights. I was asked to lower my voice or I would be sued if the child went deaf.
I am not a loud speaker; I was shocked. I could not answer. Then one day I was accused of sexual abuse. I was alleged to have touched a girl-child on the shoulder. I was told any form of touching was abuse. I was suspended.
After three months of no pay, I was reinstated. I now hate teaching with a passion.”
John Dickson: “l was reprimanded for calling a child ‘my son’. When I came to school the following day there was a fuming parent who said to me: ‘Hey, my son has a father at this school now!’
I said I didn’t know about that and then she accused me of calling him ‘my son’ the previous day in class. I went numb.
She went to the head and I was seriously admonished.” The culture here is so strange. There is nothing like stopping students from throwing chairs at each other. The schools here are a complete opposite of the schools back home. Teaching is a nightmare here. It is the most stressful job in the UK.
Copied! This write up is very correct. Nigerian teachers who are dusting their passports for February migration to UK must read this and assure themselves they are ready for the battle. The UK teachers themselves have lost it and retiring from the profession. Based on my experience, if you are still bent on moving to UK, i will suggest you look for work in year 1-6 groups (primary schools) or private schools. Those are slightly better groups. |
