Yes. It's possible to complete in two years if you know what you are doing. And the supervisors are not frustrating you. I have many who completed in due course of 2 years and are on postdoctoral fellowship now. So, it's pretty nice! olaarie: Minimum 4 semesters Maximum 8 semesters
For full-time Ph.D. programmes. I finished at the minimum required semester and only waited further for graduation. |

You simply need to present statements of accounts for all your accounts. Despite your full bursaries, you are expected to have sufficient funds to sustain you. Its logical that you may not be able to access your bursaries immediately you arrive at the school. So, the question is how will you survive if you don't show proof of enough funds? So, it's expected of you to have sufficient funds. klexyl: Thank you for your response, I applied on the 18th may and got my passport back on the 16th of July. please can you put me through on the process of appealing as I already spoke with my supervisor and she sent the letter indicating the exalt amount . Money for the flight ticket and other expenses is on my other account, I don't want to move it to the main account so it does not look suspicious. Is it also ok if I move the money now when appealing? How long does it take to get a response as time is running out already, which is why i don't want to reapply.. Thanks |

There are many factors that will decide if your $500 will be enough to sustain you. The amount is around plus or minus R7000 if am right 1. Accommodation alone can gulp the whole income in some location. 2. Cheaper accommodation in some locations will accommodate you with less than than. Some areas may be R3000 per room for you. Then you can buy your electricity, data and feed yourself with left over. Your lifestyle will determine if these can work with you! |

What program do you want to come for in South Africa? With that amount you can pursue postgraduate study in any low tuition fee in South Africa. 1. You need to evaluate your certificates from Nigeria before you can apply for admission in SA 2. Visit www.saqa.org.za for more information on this. 3. If your course or program is fortunate to be among those that attract bursaries in SA, lucky you then 4. At the completion of your program, if it's on critical list, you switch from study permit to critical list, and from that to PR. (Though, the PR is on hold for now). 5. While on study, you can access other countries via conferences. I know some will not agree with my submission. It's my opinion anyway! |

The school won't respond. It's onus on you to pay for your application whichever way you can. Acheron: It's just 200 rands and my cards are mastercards. I wrote to the school to complain but I haven't gotten a response yet |

Most times, certification from the SAPS is not always clear. But it evidently shows original was sighted by the certifier. However, those guys at VFS will always want to frustrate you. My wife was asked to re certify several times some months ago when she wanted to submit an application. I had to certify from different sources before they finally accepted her application. It's very simple that every submitted document can always be verified from appropriate sources. But those guys at VFS, will want you to print from their business centre at a very exorbitant prices for their own cuts! Nikky1759: His ID was clear it was the certification that was not clear and if i dont submi i will have to repay another seevice fee |

No, you must have your SAQA certificate for you to be considered! Imnaknus: Hello guys. I'm currently working on a Masters application to the University of Pretoria. I'd like to know if UP offers admission w/o the SAQA certificate. I mean, do/can they allow for submission of the certificate after an applicant has been offered a place?
I look forward to your responses. Thanks.
PS. I have already e-mailed them, but I haven't heard back from them. |

It is possible for you to see Naija or African shop. I am not sure anyway. But I know I have come across of some. You can't find any exchange in Capetown except Nigerians who are there , that need naira for rands. So, the option is for you to change your naira to rand at home or if you get reliable person for Capetown, you can always do that with him. Exchange rate varies it not less than 30 to 1 rand. femmoy: I want to know where I can see Naija foods, drinks(beer) on a local level and lastly where can I exchange Naira to rands in Capetown and the conversation rate. Swift response will be appreciated.
Thanks. |

baba4thegehs: Awesome thank you!
Although I read somewhere that some study permit allows you work for 20 hours per week.
Will research further. Yes, it allows you to work 20 hours a week but it's difficult to get job outside your university environment. So, it's only the university that can engage you. |

baba4thegehs: Hello everyone. I have a few questions and concerns about the study visa.
1. Are you allowed to work in South Africa with your study permit and for how many hours.
2. What are chances of getting a general work permit after studies or critical skills work visa after studies, do you have to return to home country and reapply or you can do this while in South Africa?
3. With reference to the attached document, in line with critical skills work permit/visa gazette it states here that postgraduate degree holders stand a change for applying for critical skills work permit after schooling in South Africa. Not sure if this is correct can someone provide context to this section of gazette.
4. Do I have to make part payment of my tuition fees before applying for my study visa or I can proceed with just the my offer/admission letter?
5 Cape Town Or Durban which would you prefer? - For people in South Africa.
Let's keep the conversation going.
It will end In praise for all of us.
Cheers Getting a job with a study permit is difficult in SA. But within the university you are studying, you can be given jobs as a tutor or marker or whatever. 2. Payment of tuition is not expected in full. You can always pay part. 3. Durban and Cape town are both good location. However, Cape town is more expensive than Durban. 4. After the completion of your study, you can always apply for critical skills visa without leaving SA. And from there to PR. This is the process I followed. |
