That's crazy. With their expensive goods. They should sell off some of their buildings and pay. ShopRite in Jabi, Abuja is worth more than 2.4 billion.
Those spaces in a shopping mall were rented out to businesses including ShopRite who pay yearly lease on it. The malls in the east for instance are owned by the government who then lease it out to these businesses like ShopRite to operate. So the bank cannot take over a building that ShopRite doesn't own to start with.

Fubara, you self. How could you transfer 100k to lawmakers. If the money is big enough nobody would have heard.
He probably did that on purpose and strategically. He expected this amount of backlash from them and he knew that these complaints from the lawmakers
would put them against the ordinary citizens who would view the lawmakers as greedy, and that would drive more support from the citizens in his favour. He knows people would ask that if ordinary citizens are getting 100k why then should a lawmaker ask for more?

If I were in his position, I wouldn't make any effort to compete in the next gubernatorial election because it's very clear that Mr. Wike, the APC party, and the PDP party would work against him.
It's better to try and fail than not to try at all. Secondly, Wike has made a lot of enemies within the top hierarchy of APC, and these people have more influence over Tinubu and APC than wike. They might give Fubara a free ride to second term just to spite Wike and cut his ambitions to size. When a man like Fubara comes out and make certain statements boldly, then just know that some forces way more superior than Wike are behind him

I'm glad you said the child came into the picture two years AFTER your mum and dad both separated. What were you expecting your dad to do being separated from his wife for two years sexually? Separation means he's exposed to serious sexual temptations from other women. Inasmuch as I don't like what he did but you can't really fault him. He's a man and he has sexual desires too. That's why couples should be careful how they handle marital or relationship issues. When your mum opted for opted for separation she should have known that she's exposing him to other women. This result was expected sincerely. Most man in his shoes would have done similar stuff facing temptations outside marriage

Have you used that road before? Every time you pass through that road, you will see either lorries packed recklessly, or mangled cars lying along the road. For months, cars that has accidents are left there. Even at nights, lorries have to dodge all these wreckage and packed cars. If that lorry was not packed there, this accident wouldn't have happened.
Even if the lorry was wrongly parked there, that still doesn't take away the fact that it was completely reckless driving. Even in civilized countries, vehicles breakdown on the road and the timing it takes to be towed differs.

How? You Nigerian guys and low self esteem ehn are like 5 and 6! If a Nigerian went to their country and drove recklessly, over speeding etc, and then dies in that self inflicted accident, would people say it's a bad pr for that country? No? They'd rather start insulting not just the Nigerian guy who died but they'd lump all Nigerians as reckless drivers. They'd rather inflict the bad pr on the Nigerian driver who came to their country and drove recklessly and died, citing that all Nigerians are known to be law breakers. Please let us accord our country some self respect. Nigerian roads might not be the best in the world but the cause of this tragedy was obviously reckless driving!
SportsRe: Sina Ghami & Latif "Latz" Ayodele Died In Anthony Joshua's Accident by drstranged: 10:39pm On Dec 29, 2025
I wonder why people are blaming the state of Nigerian roads on the mishap. The mishap was obviously self inflicted. Driving recklessly at unimaginable speeds to such an extent that you can't manoeuvre away from a trailer is completely reckless. Even in developed countries the risk of such accidents from reckless driving is high. The case of Diogo jota and Paul Walker comes to mind. Please people should be mindful not to get sentimental over this because he's a superstar driving in Nigeria. I'm not saying Nigerian roads are the best but let's at least try to be objective in assessing stuffs like this. If this had happened to an ordinary Nigerian, you guys would have reversed the accusations by accusing that Nigerian driver of reckless driving.

I don't need to argue with Nairaland 'sports analyst' to know whether a team played well or not especially for a game I watched myself.
Maybe you think the Tunisians are in Morroco to joke around.
At a time, you were leading a team that were 3 up in the first half of their first game in this Afcon compared to you that struggled to win your first match.
Any sincere person will tell you that it's been long we saw this kind of performance from the SE.

You are entitled to your opinion, so am I entitled to mine also.

Ire o
I can put it to you that the Tunisians were very very poor in this match, probably their worst performance in recent times. Go and watch their match against Uganda and their world cup qualifiers you'd understand. Yet despite how poor the Tunisians were on the night they still managed to score 2 goals against Nigeria, and could have even scored more but for their poor finishing.
Yes there was significant improvement in Nigeria's performance compared to the world cup qualifiers (no one is doubting that) but the point is that they have no defence and goal keeper. No matter how good the strikers perform, they should pray they don't meet a more clinical side that would tear that defence to shreds. Tunisia should have easily won that game if they scored those chances they shamefully missed.

Mexyz:
Which match did you watch that's unconvincing?

The super Eagles dominated the Tunisians and outplayed them.
They deserve the 3 points.
They outplayed yet conceded 2 goals. Would have even conceded more than 5 goals but for the inexperience of the Tunisian strikers. You probably should go study how football works. It's not by passing aimlessly. Even 20mins lapse of concentration can cost a team. Ask Arsenal. Consistency in all departments is key.
And like I highlighted to you, we don't have a DEFENCE and GOALKEEPER. More clinical teams would have fried this Nigerian team even with your so called possession. Like someone else pointed out, the only way is to hope the strikers score more goals than the basket defence and goal keeper concedes. Go and learn how to properly read and analyze matches, that way you'd be able to predict a team's performance in the long term.

Very unconvincing performance, especially the defence and goal keeper. If we played against more clinical sides, we'd have received like 7 or 8 goals in this match. These Tunisians were very poor in finishing

Electricity is subsidsied for the majority, as is education.

As for tax, considering our tax to gdp is 13.8%...lower than NIger Republic, and considering oil prices are scheduled to keep falling for the next several years, and considering no diversificaiton of the economy(the fault of tinubu, and buhari since they promised it), it's either tax, or government would borrow far far more than they are dreaming of right now.

The scary thing for next year is that if we fight corruption, we still have a very scanty budget that can give every nigerian less than 300000 for the year.

MODIFED

Despite me saying that

1.It is the fault of tinubu and buhari that they haven't diversifed our economy

and

2. Our tax to gdp is low, which is itself an indictment of the government

Some chap called obiekunle01 has decided to use abusive language on me.

My post is definetly not excusing the government, unless you think that saying that the government has failed in its responsibility to raise money for the treasury or to even make our economy productive enough to raise money for our treasury is defending the government...which is in itself a rddiculous idea

I seem to find that some people cannot think before they speak apparently, or read properly.

The problem with Nigeria has always been our resource dependent economy, and thus the tragedy of this APC government is the failure in ten years to reverse that. Instead tinubu and buhari loyalists engage in blaming each other.

And it has been a cold reality that we do not earn enough from tax. Organisations like PwC and the World Bank have repeatedly said that, plus our tax to gdp is markedly low...which is a big part of the reason why we always borrow, even in times of plenty. Yet somehow pointing that out means I am a tinubu supporter. Are PwC and the World Bank made up of APC supporters too?

And it is also a statement of fact that only Band A people pay above market price, and the majority of customers of the discos are on subsidised prices. A statement that has been repeated many times over the years even. Yet, repeating that truth means I am an APC supporter?

And then education...is subsidised. NELFUND, which is a waste of time in my opinion...was brought in to help poor students via a loan...which is a trap. Yet, for stating the truth, I am an APC supporter.

Is the sign of opposing this government being that we must lie like the average government supporter? Does that not make us the same as the APC Propaganda kompanie on this site.?

Anyway, there is popularity and there is truth. I stand for truth, not for lies. Facts, my friends, do not respect your feelings. Whatever you think of me, or not, I will post the truth and I don't care if you abuse me or not.

And Nigeria needs to be free from resource dependency.

I am dissapointed in Obiekunle01. But then again, no one is perfect. cheesy
Your post is largely non-sensical. You should have commented largely on the subsidy removal which has made huge amounts of extra money available to the government (in trillions per month). What have these extra money been used for? Are the citizens better off than when subsidy was in place? People despite paying taxes to the same government and with subsidy removal in place still produce their own electricity, generate their own water supply and even fix their own roads etc, something that the government is expected to provide! And to worsen matters, despite the enormous inflation induced by subsidy removal, salary has still largely remained the same, meaning the purchasing power of the average citizen has significantly reduced. The so called money from subsidy removal is obviously being shared among the president and his cartels because the expected benefits are not being seen. Even the Niger you quoted largely have better economic living standards than the average Nigerian currently.
So when you analyze or dissect issues, do that intelligently, holistically and incisively, not in the shallow manner you did.
Nairaland GeneralIs This December Unusual Or Is Harmattan Gradually Disappearing? by drstranged(op): 10:44am On Dec 24, 2025
I’m currently in the South East, and normally by late November we would have started feeling harmattan — cooler weather, dry air, dusty breeze, at least some signs.

But now, just a day to Christmas, everywhere is still hot. No harmattan breeze, no dryness, no dusty mornings. It honestly feels more like February or March than December.

This feels very unusual to me. In all my years on earth, I can’t remember a December like this.

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing in their area?
Could this be climate change, or is this just one of those rare weather shifts?

Let’s hear your observations.

Of course it must be the accountant general and auditor general, two critical offices whose cooperation are needed to steal and launder money and cover it's trail. This is why most governors don't joke with their accountant generals. It happened with Wike who made his accountant general Fubara as governor of Rivers state after colluding with him to launder trillions in Rivers treasury.

Their best baits is to search from among widowers, single dads and polygamous men. That's the consequences of not setting one's priorities right and hooking up a decent man when they were much younger. They must have been deceiving themselves that they could get a man whenever they want to marry

You think anti West countries like Russia and China don't have treaties with Nigeria. In fact, Russia and China stand to gain more from their ties with Nigeria than with Burkina Faso. The highest I see Putin doing is to negotiate a truce by asking Burkina Faso to release the Nigerian soldiers and plane. He knows he can't afford to lose the benefits of both countries. And moreover he already has a lot in his hands in form of Ukraine.

With the devaluation of money over time, that $1k per week might end up being worth only $100 per week in few years. And like someone pointed out already, the risk of the company folding up even within a year is there. And furthermore, with proper investment that 1million can become 100 million in few years. On the contrary you can't do any reasonable investment with $1k dollars.
I think the $1million would have made a better choice.

Don't be surprised the scoring system there might be very generous. Just like in some private universities, getting 95% is very easy. In some federal universities on the other hand, getting even 70% which is the start point for an A is nearly impossible. In my primary and secondary school I was consistently getting between 95 and 100%. But in university it was even considered criminal to give anyone above 70% in some courses in medicine, no matter how much you write

But when government equips these government hospitals, doctors employed set up private clinics, at times one bed or two room private clinics in town; patients who came to the government hospital are diverted by the doctors to their private clinics in town, use the hospital equipment for diagnosis of health issues of patients in the doctor's private clinic, patient pays treatment charges to the doctors. Before long, the equipment and other infrastructures in the government hospital become craps.

In foreign countries especially in Europe, any doctor who indulges in the illicit practice described above risks years of years of improvement.
The question is, has government properly equipped these hospitals? You probably have not visited a government hospital to see dilapidated structures and facilities that's why you probably talking so ignorantly. Even the so called doctors you're accusing, some of them use their personal equipment which they bought with their hard earned money to treat or operate patients just because your government cannot provide these equipment and facilities. So you're obviously putting the cart before the horse in your analysis of the issues. I even thought you'd have further highlighted how your politicians don't utilize the same dilapidated health care system you're blaming on the doctors but rather use your personal tax money to fly themselves abroad to hospitals abroad which are properly equipped by reasonable governments over there.
