nairalandadeux:The problem is not about taxing. Problem is doctors are no longer available. Most quality doctors in Nigeria have left the country due to poor government policies. Let the government do what is right to retain it's doctors. What you've seen is just a tip of the iceberg. In the coming years, the way the situation with our doctors would get worse would shock everyone. I know a lot of doctors who had left this month alone. A lot of medical interns fresh from medical school have already taken foreign exams and just waiting to complete their house job and nysc to finally leave. What's coming to the health sector in few years would shock you all |
Karlman:My problem is not with Israel defending itself from the terrorists Hamas, but about killing of innocent civilians in Gaza whom Hamas doesn't even have sympathy for. Imagine if a group of bad boys or bandits in your village decide to kidnap some soldiers and then federal government now sends military to level up your village and kill everyone in sight there while the bandits who committed the crime are in a far away village watching and enjoying how the villagers are being slaughtered. Instead of attacking the real bandits that committed the crime, the govt now attacks innocent civilians who had even spoken up against the bandits. |
How on earth does this make front page? How is this news?? |
Kylekent59:Exactly my thoughts! The precedence has been set. |
APOPTOSIS:What do you mean by unlawfully? How does consensual sex between two adults qualify as unlawful? You probably don't know what unlawful means. And then, talking about her dying in her boyfriend's place is off the point of discussion here. The argument is not about her sleeping in her boyfriend's place but about loyalty. And if I'm to follow your logic again, maybe when you are engaged to or courting your future wife to be, (then going by your logic), it means she owes you no accountability or loyalty and is free to open her legs for whichever guy pleases her or to hawk herself for whichever guy or guys that are available and tick her boxes. |
APOPTOSIS:I believe the so called fucking was of MUTUAL CONSENT between the two parties, two consenting adults and so it has nothing to do with his authority over her. He can't take permission from the father of an adult lady who has willingly opened her legs for him. On the aspect of faithfulness, if we're going by your logic it means the girl has every right to Bleep any guy she sees and deems fit and thus turn herself into a prostitute. Isn't it better she stays faithful to one man in a proper RELATIONSHIP/COURTSHIP before he does the formal proceeding for marriage. Relationships/courtships are necessary for couples to know themselves properly before committing to marriage. And in this phase of relationship, it's expected that both parties are committed and loyal to each other. On the aspect of sex in relationship, I don't subscribe to it because it's not moral but again one can argue for the fact that it's of mutual consent and secondly, as a human you can't judge a man from a moral point of view because you also do immoral stuffs too...more like pot calling kettle black. His sins might be sexual, yours might be stealing or telling lies. Only God can morally judge a man. So in every sense, that man was right to have expected a reasonable degree of loyalty from that girl he was in a relationship with, which I believe was a prelude to meeting her people formally for marriage. If she can't be faithful to him in a courtship then she won't be in marriage. Simple. |
APOPTOSIS:She is under no obligation to be with the guy but if she wants to get intimate with another guy, the more honourable thing would have been to break it up with this guy and go be with the other rather than bleeping two guys at the same time. That's a whorish behavior. And then this unsuspecting boyfriend would now eventually propose and marry her thinking he married a faithful lady while the now married lady sneaks off occasionally to get intimate with the other guy. So it goes beyond just payment of the bride price but has to do with character and morals |
destinychildolu:Exactly! You know exactly what went underground. She's probably someone who has been handling his underground financial dealings |
SmartPolician:I perfectly agree with you on this. Nigeria doesn't merit to be in the tournament |
robosky02:South Africa is a solid 9 points ahead of Nigeria with only 3 games left to go, meaning that for Nigeria to catch up with South Africa, South Africa needs to convincingly lose their remaining 3 games while Nigeria needs to win their remaining 4 games convincingly. South Africa needs only a draw to progress and your guess is as good as mine. |
EvilMerodack:People like her don't understand that it's not about finding a man and getting married to him that's the issue. The issue is having a peaceful, fruitful and long lasting marriage. That a man found her today and married her doesn't mean that marriage would last up to a week. In fact, some ladies would prefer they never got married in the first place than get married and end up divorced. So that she found a man doesn't mean she has hit the jackpot yet. That marriage could last only a week. |
WizardOfNG:Excellent submission. I buy and completely agree with your point 100% |
The thing is you can't blame them entirely. The people more to blame are those that stupidly voted them in. A people are as good or bad as the leaders they elect. I remember when people were boasting by saying if Buhari messes up they'd vote him out of power same way they voted out GEJ. I laughed so hard at their stupidity and told them that GEJ was kind enough to give you free and fair elections. You think Buhari is GEJ? The moment you make that mistake of electing the wrong person, just wave free and fair elections goodbye, especially in a country without strong institutions like Nigeria. And that has been so since, even up to Tinubu today. I also laugh at people who claim they'd unseat Tinubu in 2027. They really don't know what presidential powers mean until then. |
AndroBlaze:Xi Jinping spent years studying in the US as a young man before he returned to China, so he's definitely familiar with the English language |
MasterJayJay:Exactly!! Even before I started reading it, I already knew it was sponsored by the idiot Reno as damage control. His moves are very predictable. He's not a smart man |
Inasmuch as I quite admire a lot of the policies of President Tinubu (at least he's way better than Buhari), where I have serious problem with him is the way he condones extreme corruption and impunity especially amongst a lot of his cabinet members and politicians. I always tell people that there are only two persons currently that I would consider voting ahead of Tinubu if they decide to run, and that's GEJ and Peter Obi. I'd prefer a Tinubu over Atiku a thousand times over. |
The killing of those University of port Harcourt students (Uniport 4 boys) at Aluu, and Deborah Samuel's burning by despicable extremists in Sokoto. I still feel deeply hurt when I remember these. |
koning:It's stupidity to just look at the cost of goods in isolation! The costs of goods must be placed in tandem with the PURCHASING POWER of the average citizen of that country. That's what makes a good either cheap or expensive. A good that costs $50 might be considered cheap to someone in a country where the minimum wage is $100 per hour, but expensive to someone in a country where the minimum wage is $10 per hour. So before you make comparisons, place the costs of goods in tandem with the purchasing power or minimum earnings in that country. The minimum wage in Nigeria is ₦70,000 per month or #2,500 per day or ₦250 per hour for a 10hr working day. That in the US is $7.25 (₦10,875) per hour for federal (or $72.5 for a 10hr working day), and up to $18 per hour (₦27,000) for some states. Now can someone earning that minimum wage in Nigeria of ₦2,500 per day afford a 30 egg crate at ₦6,000? Compare this with an average American earning the federal minimum wage of $72.5 being able to afford a 30 egg crate of $16. So you see your logic is baseless |
SeraphicWind:You just took the words right out of my mouth! I still don't know why people still make such useless and unintelligent comparisons when they know that earnings per day in these countries far outweighs minimum wage here in Nigeria in a month. A colleague of mine in Australia earns about AUD$180 per hour as a medical doctor. That's about ₦180,000 naira per hour alone. And he works for about 8-10hrs a day. That's like ₦1.8million naira per day as his wages. His HOURLY salary is like 2 times the MONTHLY minimum wage here in Nigeria. So to make comparisons between these advanced nations and a failing country like Nigeria is really stupid to say the least. Some people lack common sense |
What's your definition of cheating? Then I can answer the question |
WizardOfNG:Please when making comparisons between countries, use standard benchmarks, and not something that is individualised. Cost of haircuts are individualised on the business owners. Where I stay, there are salons I could get a haircut for even #500. In that same street, there's a place where someone charges nothing less than ₦10k per adult haircut. So what if I now use that #10k haircut as a benchmark for comparison with Ghana which costs only #2,500k per haircut (according to you)? Same goes for food. There are restaurants I can get a plate of garri for ₦600. In this same city, another restaurant sells a plate of garri for ₦20k. After you have used standard benchmarks to make such comparisons, then I'd take your arguments seriously. But for now, with all the grammar you've posted, you have not said anything or made any concrete convincing point to objectively buttress your arguments. |
dominique:If Emery was allowed at Arsenal I strongly believe Arsenal would have been a force to reckon with. He played a moee positive kinda football and the team showed great promise but he wasn't given enough time |
AAA593:To start with, I'm a core Arsenal fan for over to 15yrs now since I was a kid. So I don't think your loyalty to the club can surpass mine. Arteta is one of the worst things that ever happened to Arsenal. I don't see this team making any significant impact this season. |
Angelfrost:You understand football well. If arsenal play like this, they wouldn't even be in the top 5 at the end of the season. One of the luckiest wins I've ever seen. Man utd seemed quite improved compared to last season. |
Jman06:What check and balances exactly? CNG buses costing same as smaller commercial buses (when should be lower) and also taking time to get filled up, you're talking about checks and balances? Lol. You obviously don't know what a rip off is. Cost of transportation with regular commercial buses increased due to increase fuel prices so naturally it's expected that these CNG buses should have been way cheaper considering the lower cost of CNG asides operational costs. The problem with most Nigerians is that they just accept face value and praise their oppressors without thinking deeply when politicians throw scraps at them and extort them. |
jmoore:Exactly! I wonder why people are praising the governor for ripping them off. The cost of transportation increased due to fuel price increase. With CNG at lower prices, and with these buses being long enough (thus having more passenger capacity) one would naturally expect the cost of transportation with these CNG buses to be significantly lower. But trust Nigerians, they lack common sense to know when these politicians are ripping them off. It's like someone giving you #200 and collecting #500 from you and you keep praising him at same time. |
Tinubumustgo:So corruption is now judged by how poor the state that was looted is? Can you hear yourself? Nobody is saying Tambuwal should be let free if found guilty. But the point as someone else pointed out is it's selective nature. Tinubu is not fighting corruption but fighting opponents. Like someone pointed out, Gandollar is still walking free and was even given appointment. He has never been invited by efcc. Akpabio is your senate president. Wike who is openly stealing billions is your fct minister. Even Tinubu who still taxes Lagos monthly is your president. So why harass Tambuwal. Let everyone kukuma be allowed to freely steal since that's what Tinubu and efcc have entrenched in the system and since Nigerians are still so stupid to support same corrupt politicians. Una mates in Kenya and even ivory coast are holding their leaders accountable. |
I don't know why people are being sentimental over nothing. Jonathan, the man at the center of it all has not even made a statement about it and people are already attacking him like they did prior to the 2023 elections. Let's wait for Jonathan to confirm all these before you can start the attack. I honestly don't think GEJ is that stupid to fall for these stuffs and join the race |
He's just a friend |
