One person's mind wasn't prepared. Lets say someone lost interest along the line. You see, in a 'ship communication is both sided. If he wasn't calling like he used to, why didn't she call and keep the fire burning? Maybe at that time he wasn't financially buoyant. So she should have played her own role too.
