Apart from the 13 points posted by Op, some names are completely associated with poverty and can hardly be found among successful people.

Taking Nigeria as example, you can hardly find successful people bearing the same names with those area boys or Agberos.

@acidtalk,you have done a wonderful analysis up there, kudos to you!

Meanwhile, I read all your replies to various posts, and I noticed you admitted that "the heart of men are easily corrupted" or "Are naturally wicked".

How do they(women) recognize the right men?

What make a man a right man?

Am a total newbie, Will make sure to be careful & put all these into consideration. As advised, I won't be investing all on shares. How often should a share bonus / dividend be declared?

You've been helpful, Thanks a bunch.

It depends on the company involve. Some declared share bonus and dividend every year while some declared theirs two time in three years or every two years or more.

I can only say about GTB share, best so far in the banking sector. For instance, I've received numerous shares bonuses and dividends between 2008-date. It's one of few companies that were able to recuperated fast during and after the recession.

Religion / Re: Do Christians And Muslims Reall Serve The Same God??? by Dsage1: 11:29am On Aug 06, 2014
Sanchez01:
Quite right but you surely missed a lot of points...

Okay, then—do Muslims and Christians worship the same God?

First, all Christians don't worship the same God, and all Muslims don't worship the same God.

Fair enough.

But I think that Muslims and Christians who embrace the normative traditions of their faith refer to the same object, to the same Being, when they pray, when they worship, when they talk about God. The referent is the same.

The description of God is partly different. There are significant differences that are the subject of strenuous debates. Some differences really are foundational to the faith, like the doctrine of the Trinity. At the same time, there's this amazing overlap and similarity. We need to build on what is similar rather than simply bemoan what's different.

What are the most striking similarities between the way Muslims talk about Allah and the way Christians talk about God?

One that shouldn't be forgotten is that God is one in both traditions. That's very important. Two, God is merciful. Also, God is just. God's oneness, God's mercy, and God's justice are significant commonalities. We have different understandings of each of these, but the overlaps are really impressive.

Some theologians argue that when Christians and Muslims say "God is one," they mean fundamentally different things, since for the Christian, God is a Trinity.

I would respond by asking, "Do Christians and Jews worship different gods?" And I would hope the response would be, "No. Jews and Christians worship the same God. They just understand God in a different way—Christians in a Trinitarian way, and Jews not."

Some Jews and Muslims accuse Christians of being idolatrous for believing in the Trinity. My response to both groups is that they fundamentally misunderstand the Christian understanding of the Trinity. It's not that we worship three distinct entities who sit on three thrones next to each other; we worship one undivided, divine being who comes to us in three persons.

If somebody postulates the existence of more than one god, I would have to say we don't worship the same god. If somebody says that God is basically one with the world, I would also have to say we don't worship the same god. What binds Muslims and Christians, and what is central to my argument, is that God is one, that God is distinct from the world, and that the one God has created everything that is not God. There is a radical divide between creature and creator. This is a fundamental monotheistic belief. Muslims, Christians, and Jews share that belief. Therefore, they believe in the same God. Polytheists and idolaters do not share that belief.

If Christians and Muslims worship the same God and understand his will as more or less the same—to love God and neighbor—are Islam and Christianity two equally worthy paths to salvation?

I can worship the same God and still not properly, adequately, fully relate to that God or understand who that God is and what God's ways with humanity are. Each of the faiths, Islam and Christianity, has a different way of understanding precisely what God demands and, more fundamentally, what God gives. And I think it's appropriate for each of the faiths—but especially for Christians, who are commanded to do so—to engage in witness, to point to the full reality of who God is and what Jesus Christ in particular has done for the salvation of humanity.

If I understand your post very well, I will assume you actually acknowledge the existence of one God worshiped in difference manners through Jesus,Muhammad etc?

Thank you so much. This is very helpful, buying shares is the Only investment idea I could think of, and Yes I Am afraid of the risks that comes with it.
Thank you

You welcome!

Since you've decided to buy shares(which is good for future purpose), I will advise you checkout for good ones. Like I said before, get a good broker who's ready to assist you. These are what you need to know before you chose one;

1. How often they declare share bonus and dividends.

2. Price- do their shares price usually increase, decrease or just remain stagnant.

3. The highest price ever per unit. This will probably give you the knowledge of what to expect in the future.

4. Demands for their shares.

5. How long has the company been in existence and their past in terms of shares.

Ishmael, the son of Sarah's handmaid founded what is known as Islam today. Since he grew up under Abraham, he must have learnt one or two things from Abraham's household but he and his mother were asked to leave the household since his mother was not legitimately married to Abraham. And before that, the birth of Ishmael came as a prophecy to Hagar by an Angel who told Hagar that:
"You are now with a child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the Lord has heard your misery. 12.He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hands will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers." ---- Gen 16:11-12.

The above took place while Hagar fled the home of Abraham. And although she returned, she left the house with Ishmael after she mocked Sarah. (Gen 21:8-20).

And @the topic: We certainly do not worship the same God.

You don't get it sir!

The last time I checked, I discovered that both religions was brought to you and I from the same continent (middle east). So, what the hell are you people arguing about/trying to differentiate?

According to the bible, Jesus is the only direct son of God, while Quran claimed Muhammad to be only true God sent messenger. From these two aforementioned scripture, one can easily deduce that there is likely one superior master/God to whom both Jesus and Muhammad are Son and messenger respectively.

Arguing about whether Christians and Muslims are serving the same God or difference God is pointless and a mere waste of precious time.

DeevaB: I Am a female student , currently in my final year and In my early twenties . Have been able to save close to 150k over time and I sell hair extensions when school is active. I don't want to end up spending this money on frivolities.

I need ideas and suggestions on what I can invest my savings on that will yield a long time profit, after school aside from my H.extension business. I know the money isn't much but I know it can yield huge returns if I invest wisely.
Thinking of buying shares, I don't know Jack on how to.

Dear ever helpful nairalanders, please drop your suggestions and help out thanks.

Hello,

The fact that you could saved upto 150k as a girl and as an under-graduate shows how discipline you are with your savings.

Meanwhile, from the last two sentences of your second paragraph, one can deduce that you've an Idea of what to do with the money, you're just not sure or were afraid to do it.

And let me tell the truth about business/investment, you can only succeed in what you like doing/have passion for and not what some random people suggested for you.

As for the 'share', get a God fearing Stock Broker or check one of this thread on this section to learn more before investing your money.

PDP has already made a costly mistake by nominating 'Omisore' as its Gubernatorial candidate. Aside Ile-Ife and its environment,Iyiola is not so popular and well acceptable(due to his violence attitude and integrity)in others towns.

If Omisore win, then something is definitely wrong somewhere.

NO!

Nigerians are so gullible, and the level of poverty is so high that people could easily be bought by the politicians on election day.

This is where the politicians are important. Besides, the incumbent tend to have more resources(human and financial) to ensure/prevent opposition in one way or the other.

The reason why SW voted for GEJ in 2011 was because of ACN lack of interest in the centre. Their focus then was to captured SW.

Like I said before, you're a learner. APGA won in Anambra meanly because of power of incumbent.

Now that APC has more governors and reps, tell me how PDP is going to win the election? What you don't know is that, the more politicians you have, the more supporters you enjoyed at grassroot.

Remember PDP is now toothless in the core North and SW.

Those phrases are not really a tautology considering the fact that some of them needs proper clarification when giving out instruction. Eg "past experience" experience is not limited to the past, it's of past, present and future. E.g, someone can ask " would you like to experience it"?

And how on earth would you says 4am is tautology? 4 indicates exact time,so how is that a tautology?

Please go and re-examine all what you called tautology.
