To understand the answer to your question, you first have to understand the difference between the World as you mentioned and the Earth. the Earth came to be at creation while the world came to be at the tranfer of dominion from Adam to the Lucifer. I would answer you question in physcality because they are not same with spirituality, the event happened after the Lord Jesus rose from the dead and became the advocate for man thereby denying Satan access the the gathering of the sons of God.
