This test is to filter a lot of applicants. Very few will make it to the next stage. Expect ANYTHING. Because the potential test invite is like DRAGNET does not mean the questions will be like dragnet questions.

Probably after the PhD applicants have had their interview. I know it won't be long considering the fact that September is at hand.

Please brothers/sisters with inside info, we'd love hints as to when the results will be out. It'll be appreciated as many people such as myself don't fancy suspense much. Gracias.

Lol I don't know really. It depend on the bias of the examiner. I know how you feel. I wrote PTDF test for design for rotating machines in 2013. I was furious. The exam focused on welding only. That's PTDF for you. Don't lose hope though.

but there is biofuel process engineering option there, why must they flex their muscle on renewable energy
EducationRe: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by DSSHQ: 6:32pm On Jul 08, 2017
I get your point but it is part of it.It is quite unfortunate they set questions from just one area. Renewable energy is so wide. I guess the examiner set the questions based on his interest/area.
dazzlingd:
Yeah, then they went to names of catalyst/enzymes for the processes. But why would an examiner pick just one topic in renewable energy to set his question?
EducationRe: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by DSSHQ: 6:27pm On Jul 08, 2017
They are. Part of biomass technology.

She is right, biofuels are non-renewable. I wonder what they were thinking sad
EducationRe: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by DSSHQ: 6:21pm On Jul 08, 2017
Too technical ? Those who wrote told me they set questions on transterification, gasification, pyrolysis etc. That's just normal though it is loop sided; more of chemical than electrical or mechanical.
dazzlingd:
yeah but they went too technical.. I rly pity those who chose renewable energy
EducationRe: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by DSSHQ: 5:35pm On Jul 08, 2017
Biofuels are part of renewable energy. I once posted it here that they will focus on it.
MsFaith:
I don't understand those who set those renewable energy questions o. Are biofuels renewable energy ?. I didn't even read anything on bio. Biofuels are non renewable energies
EducationRe: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by DSSHQ: 2:31pm On Jul 08, 2017
Oops. The average Nigerian lecturer thinks biofuel is all about renewable energy.Even PTDF chair for renewable energy focuses on biofuels. You should not have changed your option. It would have been better than energy systems.
Anfieldboss:
The test cast for my side. I prepared for Renewable Energy/Energy Systems. On getting to the venue, I was told Renewable Energy was mainly Biofuels, so I decided to choose Energy Systems not knowing that will be worse. The 50 questions were Gas Turbine Technology cry, Na so I begin guess cry till I reach 50.

Good luck to those that their exams made sense, as for me I don bow out.

PoliticsJune 12: Jettisioning The Tribal Sentiments Of The Annual Remembrance Ritual by DSSHQ(op): 8:51pm On Jun 12, 2017
June 12 cannot be forgotten in a hurry. The events that played out still baffle a lot of bystanders and have left the politically savvy amazed. Whether the day is accorded the attention it deserves or not, it cannot be forgotten in haste. 24 years ago, a Presidential election was annulled for some of the most bizarre reasons that are yet to make much sense to even apolitical folks. The day ‘June 12’ has been engraved upon our hearts in the most uncommon circumstances. Promoters of the day’s significance feel it is often ignored but as time goes by, the glimmer of hope that the events of June 12 presented, flashes before our eyes. Free and fair polls devoid of rigging happened in a military dispensation! That was supposed to be a sign of great things to come! Preliminary results also showed that voting across ethnic divide was not widespread as it is now. We have since returned to democracy in 1999.Whether that has been enough will remain a matter of discourse for years to come.

Another June 12 is here. As usual, Proponents of democratic values and ideals seize the opportunity to show solidarity and remind Nigerians of the events of 1993. This annual event usually includes public lectures and rallies in which resource persons become attack dogs; they seize the opportunity to hammer on burning national issues with a view to project the rape on democratic ideals that happened on June 12, 1993. This is not bad in its entirety but looking at the events that led to the cancellation of the 1993 general elections, a lot more can be done to at least improve the dying relevance of the day.

The annual remembrance of the events that happened on June 12, 1993 ideally should have a national reach. A quick trip down memory lane will show deep rooted primordial and ethnic sentiments in our elections mostly especially during this democratic dispensation. The elections of 1993 clearly showed that Nigerians put aside these sentiments and elected a leader of their choice. The election was devoid of the ills of modern day electioneering process in Nigeria – intimidation, violence and ballot box snatching. There was no record of protest (to the best of my knowledge) about the election results until the then military regime decided to halt the process for some of the most flimsy excuses ever!

The formation of a group like the Oodua People’s Congress was in response to the alleged ill-treatment of the Yorubas during the military regime of 1993. Many years down the line, rather than unite and form a common front, a lot of groups have sprang up with ethnic colouration. Many claim to be fighting for the common good of the people or region they represent. However, with each passing day, their activities are more tailored for personal aggrandizement than anything else. MASSOB,MEND, Arewa etc. are just a couple of them who have missed the point.

Rather than turn every June 12 to a lamentation day, Conveners of June 12 rallies can seek to unify the country and even ‘force’ the government of the day to set up a fact finding commission to review what happened in the past; not as a form of witch-hunt but to prevent the mistakes of the past. Nigeria has clearly not learned from history. Sadly, June 12 remembrance activities have been limited to the South-West only. In the real sense of it, the whole country suffered a lot.

What exactly does June 12 stand for?

This has meant many things to different political observers. Without any form of sentiment attached to it, it was a day spanner was thrown into the works. A seemingly peaceful electioneering process was truncated by the powers that be. Focus should rather be on the avoidance of such ugly experiences. Trying to making it political by focusing on the South-West has not achieved much. A south westerner ruled Nigeria for 8 years (1999-2003) and downplayed the relevance of June 12.He rather opted to go for May 29th as democracy day. Using the late Chief Moshood Abiola as a political tool has not helped either. He was an aggrieved party and not the architect. The military rulers at that time were the architects of the June 12 debacle. The significance of Chief Moshood Abiola’s election then cannot be downplayed as it would have brought about power shift to the South.

In essence, June 12 will just be like any other election day as February 29th, 1999, April 19th, 2003, 21st April, 2007, April 16th 2011 and March 28th, 2015. Unfortunately, looking at it the way the day is being remembered will limit its relevance to the controversy that arose from the annulment of the election conducted on that day. If the Military regime had allowed the electoral commission to conclude the presidential election by announcing the winner, nobody would regard June 12th as a defining moment in our political history.

Nevertheless, my argument does not take anything away from Chief Abiola who showed an uncanny form of bravery. Despite the betrayal from his political friends, he put up a spirited fight. Making the June 12 struggle a tribal one has damaged the enthusiasm and spirit of the struggle. Declaring a public holiday and turning the event to leaders bashing day, just to prove a point, will amount to shooting an arrow and drawing a bull’s eye around it.

Christianity EtcListen To Yourself ! by DSSHQ(op): 11:24am On Jun 08, 2017
Doctor, don’t worry. I know I am going to die. I didn’t want to come here but they brought me here.

Please don’t worry about me, look at my hair, they are gone. I am so old but you are so young. I have learnt a lot from life, if you don’t mind I will tell you some of them before I die.

When I was 4 years, I use to think the world is about me. When I turned 14, I wanted to rule the world. I thought I would be the greatest man that ever lived. When I was 21, I wanted to be the richest man, when I was 25, I wanted to find love, when I was 40, I wanted to be helpful to everyone. Now that I am here, I want to die. You see, I wanted so many things at so many times. Most importantly, I wanted to be happy. I thought the best way to be happy is to listen to others.

When I wanted to enter the University, I wanted to study Zoology but everyone said I should study Engineering that I will be a great Engineer. So I listened to them. I had no one to pay my fees, I had to work and also pay my fees. In my third year, I couldn’t cope with my studies, I had to drop. When I dropped, the same people told me "you should have studied Zoology"!

When I turned 28, everyone said I should marry. That I needed a wife. So I listened to them, I got married. 6 years into the marriage, I caught my wife sleeping with my neighbour. I asked her why and she slapped me. I was angry and didn’t say anything. The next day I returned from work, she had run away with my children, now I am dying a lonely man.

At 40, I got a huge contract. My name was in the news. The next day, all my friends and families were at my house, everyone had a serious problem. Within one week, I spent all the money on them with the promise that they will pay back. I could not complete the contract because they refused to return the money as promised. So I was sent to jail for 6 years. I stayed in jail and I came out. When I came out, they were nowhere.

There was one mistake I made through all this time. Now it is clear to me. Let me tell you about it. I refused to listen to myself. I ignored my own self and listen to others. Now that I am here the only person that is with me is myself.

You see, it is very good to listen to others. It is very wise to seek advice from others. But it is very dangerous to ignore your own self. It is very very dangerous to refuse to pay attention to your heart.

When you get home this night, sit down, take a glass of water. Close your eyes if you want or open it if you want, then talk to yourself, reason with yourself. You can walk down the road alone and as you walk, begin to talk to yourself.

The only person that can overrule yourself is God, after God, listen to yourself next. I know it may not make sense to you now but always remember I told you LEARN TO LISTEN TO YOURSELF.

Multi disciplinary engineering technology. I really don't think the groupings are necessary as long as one's proposed research is relevant to PTDF's focus areas and one can successfully defend it during the Interview. My opinion though.

Honestly I can't say if that's true or not. ( Whether they both had the same set of questions). They have some common ground though and it is worth looking at both areas. PTDF won't set different questions for all courses. They will group them accordingly. So check the scholarship page of the PTDF website, and look at the categories. That will offer better insight to the possible question categories.
DeniseKendricks:

Do not buy any past questions. As someone once said here, search for MCQs relating to your field. Someone has also given tips on what you can read for environmental engineering. You can also look at Threshold limit values for various contaminants present in the air, water, carbon dioxide, ozone , lead etc. Also look at PM, SPM, Noise pollution, Kyoto and Montreal protocols ,detention period ,EDTA test, Environmental pollutants etc It is not limited to these. Cheers.

Are you sure ? That slip contains a unique code starting with your state of origin. You will submit that during accreditation for the interview. It is a proof that you applied when others did. Some people have tried to scuttle the process previously by getting the scholarship without even registering online. Some names were dropped because of those discrepancies.
Anfieldboss:
You have nothing to worry about just focus on passing the CBT and doing well in the interview. That slip is not used.
EducationRe: NDDC Abandons 2016 Scholars Abroad (Photos) by DSSHQ: 5:14pm On May 20, 2017
You're correct. Minimium wage is 7.20 pounds. 20 hours weekly is never enough. That dude has no idea of how the UK system works. My advice to intending scholars. Do not leave Nigeria with the NDDC scholarship except you have your own means of funding. Whenever, NDDC pays, it then becomes your bonus.
Mayflowa:
No. You are the one missing it. No one can work to pay tuition in UK. You can only talk about meals. It's even hard for housing. Some fees go as much as 20,000 thousand pounds. Students are only allowed to work 20 hrs per week. Minimum wage is about 6.50 to 7.50 pounds. Let do the calculations:

6.50 x 20hrs = 130 pounds per week
That will amount to 520 pounds per month
For 8 months===> 520 X 8 = 4160 pounds. which is equivalent to 2.08million in Nigeria naira.

Assuming these students are staying under the cold bridge and dring water as food, now tell me how they would raise the other 15,000 pounds for their tuition.

Guy...Who has that dog's eye's pic?
