I didn't know there was a thread for this recruitment here.Got and invite for verbal test after my numeracy test.I don't seem to understand the number of online test we will be writing. I applied for Operations.

NB: the best schools don't offer the best varieties, you don't expect colorado school of mines to teach humanities or Texas A &M to teach law....search well for schools with your preferred program and communicate with a leading professors in such field in your school of choice, they are looking for agile students

Yes they are separate but they wanted to merge them together because the current government does not buy the idea of PRESSID at the moment.

Test was fine.Had a 7.5.Well the only useful tip I can give you is for you to practice.I practiced using the red book I bought at British council office.It was #4000 then.Also,there is a blog (http://www.ielts-blog.com/) ;Quite useful.Don't cram the essays;study the pattern.Cheers.

This law is serious.What of if I want to do a PhD and my masters course is approximately 18 months in duration ? (18 months because I started in January;PhD is 4 yrs most times).So I won't be able to do that ?

Not in this country, they'll even calculate to ensure that you haven't exceeded it. We were only 2 people at the university, who had this issue. The other girl was able to finish because after the calculations they discovered she had exactly the 6 months she needed to finish, so her extension was given to those exact 6 months.

My own was a special case, the university never pointed out that the 2 years I'd used for my A-Levels would actually help. All I wanted to do was finish the year, the irony was when I finally got a lawyer & mentioned my A-Levels in passing (while filling out my form), she and her colleague literally said "indefinite leave to remain"' in unison. So in their quest to bounce my butt, they unwittingly enabled me to apply for indefinite leave to remain.

ttmacoy, the new policy means you can only stay a maximum of 5 years as an international student in the UK. So meaning if you've already exceeded the 5 years already (maybe from a previous UK degree, masters with year in industry or whatever), then you'll be unable to apply for a visa. In fact the school would not even give you an acceptance letter.

Previously, all their former international student laws never enforced retroactively, until this one happened. I remember when the news about the limit was revealed the year earlier, I asked the university, they assumed the new rule wouldn't be enforced retroactively...then the government told us otherwise. The university had to reject and rescind their acceptance for a lot of students.

@ DSSHQ, Your upkeep allowance is $30000 minus your school fees.

Yeah ,that's just normal balance that's always paid. If your school fees is more than $30k,you don't get anything.

Did NDDC tell you that upkeep money will be paid aside the $30k ?

I received my package today @ TP Abuja.

I searched and searched and searched my passport, no visa. I did that three times, nothing.

A security man asked me to calm down as he took my passport to search it himself. Nothing. He gave me back my passport.

On my way out, I discovered that the last 2 pages were stuck together. I then carefully open it and there it was.... 20 working hrs bla bla bla.... I could neither rejoice no do otherwise.

when did you go for your interview? I went for mine on the 2nd of january and my school is resuming on the 12th. I'm so worried....

I know someone who made it up to the interview stage last year. Also,I know someone who works there.He is on nairaland but not too active. I didn't bother applying this year.

Making it to the next stage has nothing to do with your degree.Writing good essays with the relevant keywords is the key.
