Yes o, amazing timelines. Most of them submitted a few days after getting ITA. It would seem CIC appreciates that remarkable effort and processes their applications with lightening speed.(just my theory)

Congrats guys..

Santino1:
Congratulations guys.

These are insane timelines, some even less than a month. Abeg how una take do am?

Morning all,

So I got a mail from CIC yesterday that I had a message in my account. The attached was what it was. Has anyone else gotten same.
AOR - Aug 29th
Meds Passed - Sept 12th
NA2 - Sept 13th, no change since then.
See the message that I received below.

Let's say the accompanying spouse has ECA pre ITA. Will the PA getting ECA post ITA be detrimental in any way?
Doing this will amount to ineligibility. The VO is likely to determine that you should not have been awarded the points that earned you the ITA as having an ECA for a foreign degree is one of the requirements for Express entry and contributes over 150 points to CRS.

From my experience, the only diplomas WES will recognize are OND and HND. I also tried to evaluate my unilag diploma and it was ignored. They just pretended they did not see anything but my B.Sc.

Abbylee:
Hello

Your question 1 attracted my attention. Does one get extra points for a one-year diploma of direct entry into University? I tried to access it with WES but i think they ignored it completely.

I need all the points i can get too.

Thanks!!!

The image below from IRCC might cover this. It refers to how applications are accessed for eligibility. In summary, it says your documents would be used to check your scores on the date of your ITA and cross refrenced to confirm same at time of e-APR. As long as both results are higher than the lowest score in your draw, you may be deemed eligible. So in this case, if VO recalculates and any of these scores drop below the minimum in the draw of your ITA, there might be a problem.

elfmann:
Again, can sb select three years on d EE profile, after getting ITA, wait out a month out of the 90 days to get a reference letter for two years?
As the first reference letter is one yr.
I. e Do they look at d date on the reference letter and when ITA was got to judge anything?

You may need to top up. Most of these USD cards require a min of 50$ to be left on the card at all times. Also assuming you have access to all of the funds, it gives an exchange rate of around 0.82 usd to 1 cad. Current rate is 0.8, but our local banks usually charge up to 0.04 above official rates so to be on the safe side make sure you have at least 0.86 times 2080 plus 50$ and may be even 20 to 50$ extra to be on the safe side. That said, $1850 should be about fine. I had same issue when i tried paying with my first bank dollar card.

Hi, please I am having issues paying for my processing fee and rprf ,my gtb USD card (master card not visa )keeps getting declined. Pls what other means can I use. thanks ,I will appreciate any feedback

Dear Mrs O,

Please confirm that the bolded text below was spelt as pronounced in the said encounter. Lol

impish:
My friend's husband had this. I believe he studied at Ife (or was it UI?). Anyway, he went to the school and met a woman. He told her that WES said they had sent the school a mail for verification. She said, "what is your name and arrand wish time?" and he told her when he guessed the mail would have been sent. She looked on a computer, through an inbox, then said, "ah! I have found it!" And then she replied and that was it!

This is what I was told happened. I hope it helps. In summary, I think you may need to pay a visit to the school asap.

All the best!

Yeah, I know. That's why I called the guy a crook. I was only stating how the transcripts got sent by nipost against my wish.

grammy010:
Unilag won't have send your transcript if you pay 30k. Officiall fee with courier is just N18,500 which is divided into 2,500 for processing fee and 16k for courier fee. May be the person that help you might have taken that decision on your behalf even after collecting 30k

I won't personally advice anyone to use NIPOST. You can see how the package moves from one destination to another with courier. It should take an average of 4-5 working days using courier.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by dtaminator: 12:03pm On Sep 22, 2017
Unilag sent my transcript by nipost even after paying one crook 30k for dhl. What I can say about the experience is this.
1. The tracking is useless. (The status remained at item inserted in bag from begining to end)
2. It will eventually get there. Mine took just over 2 weeks which wasn't a long time in the scheme of things as I had already spent a year on ECA wahala.

grammy010:
There is no assurance as to when it will get there and whether it won't get missing along the line. You may have to go back to courier after waiting so long for NIPOST

Exactly, i specified immigration and scored LRWS 9,9,7.5 ,7 at the 1st attempt. I was angry at the 7.5 and especially the 7 in speaking. Though i suspect it was because I was asked to speak on something for 2mins I think. I spoke for around a min and finished my story. The Lady even asked me to go on that I still had time. I bluntly said I was done.

DatechMan:
On the issue of BC IELTS,
I specified immigration and got LRWS 8.5,9,7.5,7.5 on the very first attempt.

I agree it's only in the head

Application fee- Cad$ 550 per adult, Cad$ 150 for children. Note that this is to process application for permanent residence and not to process a single entry Visa
ROPR fee- Cad$ 490 for adults. Children do not pay.
Apparently, there is no Visa fee. The Visa is just to facilitate your entry to take possession of your PR Card. The Visa seems to be complimentary.

elfmann:
Yeah, but dupyshoo said it isn't. So let's agree on one thing. Application fee or RPRF? Not that is a problem.. For knowledge sake! Some pple go wan open offices for immigration 'agenting'.

Please get in the pool immediately. You can always add your husbands ECA when it is ready if you have not gotten an ITA by then. I see no reason to wait till its ready. The last draw was 435, 426 is only 9 points away.IRCC is unpredictable and 2 quickfire draws may see you receiving an ITA with 426. I got my ITA with a CRS of 413 while I was waiting for my wife's ECA which would have taken us to 423.

Thanks for your response guys.

Yes I'm the PA, score without hubby's WES is 426, while its 436 with his WES, that's using the CRS tool provided.

His School transcript is a lil bit slow thus the confusion on whether to apply once my WES is ready or just wait for his as well.

Thanks

Apologies. CIC does not specify the number. This is what they say "if the applicant is self-employed, articles of incorporation or other evidence of business ownership, evidence of self-employment income and documentation from third-party individuals indicating the service provided along with payment details".

To be on the safe side, at least 2. Invoices may actually suffice for this purpose.

ewa2014:
Pls why 3huh Is that like a specific requirement cos I added only 1 oh. Now afraid is catching me
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by dtaminator:
Actually, if your accompanying spouse does well in ielts and does an ECA, the points will even out. So a single applcant with masters and good ielts score will get around exactly the same score as a married applicant and spouse that both aced ielts and have masters.

bbaby84:
I hope you've put this theory to test? Let me comment my real reserve
In case you didn't know, you get more points If you're a single applicant or if you have an unaccompanying spouse as opposed to married folks with accompanying spouses.
Please use the CRS tool.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by dtaminator: 7:41am On Sep 03, 2017
Its straight forward since you have all these documents. The only other thing you would need would be 3 reference letters from 3 clients. That's about it.

bigfido:
Guys, do we have anyone that claimed point for self employed work history? What were the documents you submitted? I have contract documents, bank statements, invoices, receipts, tax documents and article of memorandum of the company. I own it. Is there any other thing I am to include? I have work history that covers 6 years for paid employment 2008-2013..i believe this would suffice, but I already filled self employment for 2013-present.

You can use the work experience before your masters and evaluate the masters as you have. You are good to go. What is often required is that most of the NOCs in skill level A, B and C require you to have completed a 1st degree to work in the NOC.

gogedda:
How valid is the bolded? I am planing on using work experience from 2011-2014, I have both Bsc and Msc...Bsc was completed in 2010 while Msc was completed in 2015...I only did ECA for my Msc. Are you saying my work experience is invalid? The last time I checked, CIC says work experience from last 10 years can be used to gain point..

Abeg Seniors kindly come and address this issue o.. Cc 40manlappy, Ugo, Mummyjaygirls, etc...

None of us is CIC or a VO and even them can't know it all, that's why they have guidelines for dealing with applications. Anyways, weldone.

Hello house,

I have worked from 2010-2015 in three different companies and have a lacuna of 8 months reducing my years of experience to about 4 years.

Can it affect my application?
No it won't. As long as your job with the 3 companies is in the same NOC, you are good to go. Just be honest in your application and make sure you can back up/prove everything in your application if additional info is requested.

I believe the Case Officer got it wrong. Loss of point due to age should not result in rejection. For any rejections due to this age difference, the applicant can appeal to get his/her application re-opened.

Not necessarily, only info that impacts your score including age(which has a special exemption) must be maintained. All others can be changed with a LOE. Honest mistakes are bound to occur.
The issue here is the age. And Yes we are referring to info that impacts scores only. There has been a bit of confusion here on having a birthday after you receive an ita and the impact it would have if your new crs is lower than that of your draw as some people are of the opinion that it disqualifies an application which i think isn't correct.

esosa4real:
Bros, @blingyrie is correct!!

If you have ita and bday comes up before aOR!! Nna, your scores are recalculated oh, and if it falls below the mark with which you got ITA, it will be rejected.

But if after aor, ur account is locked so if birthday falls after that time, it DOESNT MATTER!

If you doubt, I can upload a rejection letter of a nairalander from last year for this exact reason. It's on my PC!!
Guys, lets take time and read the entire text from CIC and understand. Yes, points will be calculated at ITA and recalculated at e-APR and should the points at e-APR be lower than the lowest score in your draw, you will be refused. But CIC clearly states that change of age is exempt from this, although it seems it is at the discretion of the VO.

Section A11.2 states how applications are accessed. It basically says all of the info you entered should be maintained till e-apr or else your application will be rejected.

Just a little below, there is an exemption to section A11.2 which refers to candidates who have had a birthday after ITA. It clearly states that the officer should or can exempt such candidated from section A11.2 and according to section A25.2.

My thinking is that every thing you need to do to maintain your status post ITA and pre e-APR is in your hands, but age isn't. ECA expires, get another, ielts expires, write another. But then, How do you improve on your age when it changes.

Please lawyers in the house, help us disect this issue according to CIC so we can put the matter to rest as it has come up numerous times.

Also, esosa4real, it would be great if you posted that letter here as it would enlighten us further.

It's important so we don't mislead people either way.

Thanks all

Blingyrie:
No dear, not after ITA but after d submission of e-apr. even afterwards, one of the checks carried out after medical passed is eligibility which includes our age (recalculated as at time of check)
Increase in age that results in your score being lower than the crs cutoff for your ITA will not result in your application being rejected. The screenshot you posted below says just that. That a change in age after ITA and before e-APR is exempt from any penalty that may arise from score reduction.

So yes, age does freeze once ITA is received.

Please is this going to be a problem because the PC was issued before my departure from the country (although this was just a 3 week vacation n not 6 months stay)

Hope I'm making sense... Pls I'd appreciate as much information on this as possible abeg I'm having sleepless night on the matter.

If you got the Ita before your birthday, you have nothing to worry about. Points will not be docked for your new age, so go ahead and put in your application.

Hello house please what the implication of increase in age after Ita but before Aor.

When the visa officers do their recalculation do they Base it on the round of invitation score at the point of Ita or the current score as at date of Aor?

ITABABE:
increase in age after ITA but before AOR reduces your scores. You need to submit before your birthday if it will make your score below the cut off with which you got ITA
No, an increase in age after ITA will not lead to a score reduction. Age is exempt from reduction once ITA has been issued.

Hello Guys,

My 1st question on this forum.

Please to all those who moved spouse work experience to personal history, my question is two-fold

1- What did you answer under work experience when asked if your spouse has any work experience?

Won't answering no amount to mis-representation when your spouse indeed has work experience and this will show up in the personal history section under employment?

2- Pre ITA, I entered spouse's work experience under work experience. If i now enter it under personal experience and answer no to the question in 1 above, do I need to attach an LOE?

Thanks

P.S Congrats to all those who got ITAs in yesterday's draw and all those who have progressed from one point to another especially those that have PPR

If you don't submit before your birthday I think your points will drop. However if the point drop is still within the cutoff then you are good.
That's not correct, age is the only change of circumstance that is exempted from points recalculation after you get an ITA. Take note @ysmd

Pls how do I go about getting a bank letter from Gtbank? I have a savings account there.
Also can you kind recommend a good place to take the passport photograph in Lagos?
Thank you
I hear gtb is difficult with the bank letter in required format for savings accts. However, people on this platform have been able to get it done. Just walk into your bank and request it. Preferably put your request in writing. The passport photo should be doable at any decent photo studio.
