Jesus did not ask the disciples to pray for Him, He asked them to watch (be alert). His question when He came was couldn't they watch for Him for one hour? He specifically asked them to "watch and pray", distinguishing between the 2. When you put time consciousness into prayer, you're making the prayer a ritual, not a relationship. And don't read into the Bible what is not there (the way many "christians" love to do).
