The blinding and other works continues

Althrough concrete construction the process has been fortified with water resistant effect. Dr fixit and Top shield

From the other side of the basement excavation, blinding and column base excavation in progress.

Having gotten to almost the conclusion of the basement, its time to excavate other part of the foundation.


Must be a tough one for the workers because they have to excavate manually from the top of the hipped soil to the ground, its not going to be funny though.

This is a very huge projects, congratulations.
This is by far a standard way of modern construction especially in high rise building designs.
Most of these sky scrapers and other tall building construction use this Same construction process.
For the depth of the foundation on this very building why such depth? Because for sky scrappers I know the high depth is to give the building a solid rigidity against wind load, height and other factors.

Thank you sir, actually its not a deep foundation. Its neither pile nor Caisson. It is the basement of the house (underground) which we understand have added to the reinforcement or strengthening of the substructure (foundation)

Safety first!

Honestly, the archtect that did the design ignored a lot of things, but that's why we are here to interpret, advice, weigh options and considerably construct a safe and comfortable abode for clients that values such.

Outside the original design, the client wants an addition of space on the basement step and space to crate an alternative exit from the basement no matter small.

Oh well, just added a little cost and it was done.

Saving cost ... the marine board is #14,000 as at today, so we need to board twice or more to save cost of purchasing more board.

Cost of labour from excavation to DPC/ Deck is coming up soon.

We have two mix ratio to suit the process and conditions.

1:4:4 concrete mix
And
1:4:4.5 concrete mix

With fix it water resistant

Blinding off the soil

The basement excavated depth is about 7ft = 2.1m

The swimming pool excavated depth is between 3ft - 6ft = 0.900m - 1.8m

Column base excavation is
2ft deep x 3ft square = 0.600m x 0.900m x 0.900m

Strap excavation is
1ft deep x 3ft width = 0.300m x 0.900m
