Thanks bro.

Am not surprised Arshavin did not make the cut for Capello's first game as head coach of Russia, i saw few clips of the England game, but was delighted to see O. Chamberlain start while T. Walcott was a used sub.

That boy has spoilt market for Theo, he has no right demanding higher wages when Ox is playing ahead of him both for club and country. He should sign that deal ASAP if he knows whats good for him.

@dudu, why was Aneke not included in the NextGen game against Marseille? Isn't he 19?

He and Afobe were included in the squad as overaged players, He might play in tough knockout matches but I think for now if he doesn't go on loan, he'll only play U21 PL and potentially weak opposition Carling cup games like against Coventry.

A-40:
@4llerbuntu
Your write up makes sense from the average club standpoint but at Arsenal you and I know these roles have been blurred. BTW why hasn't Wenger taken a paycut to show that he cares about the team itself

In fact, why should he be paid at all, why shouldn't he work for free? or the roles are so blurred that he even writes his own contracts and signs for all parties concerned? tongue

A-40:

Its about Wenger! Who loses close to ten players in 3-4 seasons for more money! I wonder how much you can pay Xavi and Iniesta to leave Barca. What of De Rossi and Totti? Del Piero nko? Lahm or Schweini? We just signed Javi Martinez and guess what he took a 2million euro a year paycut to facilitate the deal. Nesta woulda never left Lazio if not for their financial troubles! He refused the armband at Milan cos he vowed never to wear the band of another club! Loyalty might be dead at Arsenal but don't generalize it

Loyalty is not dead everywhere but is in a comatose state in a large proportion of the player population. The easiest way to switch off its life support is to offer ridiculous wages.

A-40:

They continue to leave or is Arsenal simply a selling club that has to cash in on them to break even. This in itself isn't a crime anyway
You are very right here, the club isn't telling us everything, Arsenal is run as a 'sustainable' business which funds itself, has made and will make a lot of decisions from a business survival standpoint. If that is what a 'selling club' is, then Arsenal is one.

A-40:

But alas can the time and money spent to groom these players be quantified?
Definitely it can, the transfer fee a player commands is as good enough a metric as you'll find. It is the reason why Arsenal bought RVP for 2.5m and sold him for almost 10x that amount after 8 years.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by duduspace(m): 10:31pm On Aug 30, 2012
debosky: We won't sign anyone else - that's my prediction.

For us to be even thinking of adding Essien (another crock) to our growing list of 3-4 midfielders out injured is preposterous.

Glad to see Wenger laughing and relaxed though. . . .unlike last year when he looked like someone who got beaten up. grin

All that matters now is that this damned window closes and we know where we stand.

Methinks Benayoun will come back on loan, I think Arsene is working on Fernando Llorente as he has obviously given up on Chamakh from his statements with rumors of Park going on loan as well we will be very light upfront if all these happen, whether Llorente will happen before the window closes is another matter entirely with Arsene talking of December as well.
That is about the only player I can count as 'Special Quality' who is in prime condition to be cherry picked by Arsenal.

Kay-Dee:

Does it not bother you guys that Wenger who is the boss cannot keep the team together ? All we do is replace our top players every summer. How is that supposed to convince the younger players and other clubs that Arsenal is a serious club and not a footballing nursery ? Every summer we destroy the team and start rebuilding all over, when will the team building ever be complete ? This is the time when older players who have been at the club long enough should be grooming people like OxChambo and other young guns but instead, we let them free and the problem with Arsenal, which started with the sudden exit of older and experienced players, still has no solution in sight.

To the bolded, the creed of this club is "Victoria concordia crescit", Victory through harmony. It takes two to tango and I do not wish to see us keep players who do not want to stay. Even if we win doing such (something not guaranteed with Tottenham's experience with Modric) it would be Victory through disharmony this might be acceptable to mortals of lesser mettle but inadequate IMO. grin
To the rest, you've got to look at Arsenal in phases and you can see that we've entered another phase right about last year. In the past player turnover was handled by promoting from within but now we are buying proven quality as replacement. Turnaround time is bound to reduce as a result of that change in strategy.

Kay-Dee:

Arsenal fans like to console themselves. RVP is injury prone. A case of 'monkey no fine but ManUnited like am' grin grin. Same beef they had for Cesc, Nasri, Clichy and others before them. Make una dey dere dey beef players who have gone to better their lot while we continue to condone Wenger's experiment.
You dey mind them ? Injury-prone ko. I get sick everytime I hear . . . ."an injury-prone , 29 year old" . . . . . . . Who says he can't go another full season or 2 with no injuries and who says at 29 you're done and dusted. Some arsenal fans have a pathetic way of consoling themselves.

RVP is top quality, even the most blinkered Arsenal fan knows this and you're right there is an element of consolation in there, but cast your mind back to all the seasons before the penultimate one and you'll see that those who make these statements have a good reason to. This is the risk Manure is taking and as a Gooner, blame them not for wishing that it backfires in the most horrible fashion imaginable. grin
I personally never beefed Cesc, Nasri or Clichy. They didn't leave with as much bad blood as RVP did and while I admit fans are not the most reasonable, I can assure you that if Cesc ever chooses to come back to Arsenal, he will be welcomed back by a lot of fans.
RVP's bridge is well and truly burnt to a cinder, for someone who contributed so much this is a bad divorce and totally pathetic.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by duduspace(m): 1:26pm On Aug 16, 2012
Wordsmith: And once again, Arsenal has shown as a club they have no value whatsoever, so far it's all about the money. Frankly, i blame the fans, board for this transfer. When you keep selling your star players season after season, you change your team chemistry and then Arsenal has to rebuild season after season, new players have to re-adjust to the club's gameplay and it becomes another season of learning on the job while making fatal errors in crucial matches.

It just has to be Arsenal. Get fans in a frenzy with good signings and then dash moods with this idiot sale. Like i said earlier on, the fans and board do contribute to this tomfoolery. Wtf is "if Man U meets our evaluation"? How about just saying No? Fa Chrissakes, you don't strengthen your rivals, and if that's debatable, fellow title challengers. Same Manure with a rickety midfield lost the title to Shitty on goal differences, and then you further strengthen them with the sale of your most clinical striker?

What many at L'Arse don't understand is that, repeared sales of players like this sends a message to other clubs .... make a bid, if there's initial shakara about no sale, apply a little more pressure till they make an evaluation of the player they think you wouldn't meet, and the buying club zooms in for the kill. We are now a cheapass club, more like bend down select that can't even keep their best players.

So who goes next season? Wilshere peaks, we sell him the f off. Song next. And then Chamberlain. And then Kos, and then Coquelin and on and on we go.

Swear down, they need to change Arsenal FC to Arsenal Finishing School. Nansense. . .

Fret not Bro, that is the Arsenal I support. A beacon of light in the midst of financial darkness where player power threatens to destroy the soul of football itself. We will not be bullied by any player and we will not compromise our principles. Other clubs may grumble about the state of football finances but do nothing about it while bowing to the pressures of the money grabbing agents and greedy players dragging themselves into financial ruin in the process, we will not. Surely, you can respect that even if you don't agree with it.
Even Coogar now admits that FFP has limited what Shitty could do this season, what is to say it won't be Manure's turn to batten down the financial hatches next season?
More importantly, we've replaced RVP (with 3 top quality players) and there is enough even within the club to replace Song if he does decide to leave.
Provided we start well, I see nothing to suggest we won't be up there challenging at the end of the season.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by duduspace(m): 1:12pm On Aug 16, 2012
This deal works well for everyone involved and my beef with RVP is itemised below:

1. The disrespectful letter.
2. Going to Manure.

For someone who this club and fans have been so good to and accepting of and who claimed to love the club, his hypocrisy is all the more glaring and for this he is a Judas, where there is love people find compromises and alternatives and no one can convince me these didn't exist in RVP's situation. On the flip side, it could have been worse and he could have gone on a free next year like Sol Campbell did to Tottenham and still end up at Manure.

At this point in time, I can't but say that the likelihood of Obito being Tobi is very high. It seems Kishi even left clues in the name (Obito is almost an anagram of Tobi). man utd is the biggest sporting brand in football. the fans are now tipping 700 million.
chevrolet/general motors saw an opportunity to put their brand on the map and they had to improve on the current AON's £20m per annum deal.
it's only £3m per year more than barca's deal so once again, it's gold trafford.

no deal is being renegotiated. the contracts have been signed, sealed and delivered.
from 2014/15, united would wear the chevrolet logo on their shirts..and it would cost general motors £28m per season.
add that to the huge number of secondary sponsors like dhl, airtel, turkish airlines, betfair, thomas cook, etc and you'd know why united is unshakeable.

Okay, you're right about this. That must be the revised deal. The initial one pre Ewanick's ouster actually guaranteed up to 51m per month and almost got me stained underwear. grin
but this new one is just 8m more per season more than your existing Aon deal (comfortably less than RVP's annual wages if the reported 220k per week are true)
I see nothing unshakeable in this. Arsenal's new deal to come in 2014 is not expected to be less than 20m as well and we also keep on signing secondary deals plus we do not have your 40m + interest payment and still increasing wage bill to worry about.
Year end results will be out soon, we can compare notes then now that we are on a level footing of 'trophylessness' grin

debosky: ^^ I said if. . . the rumours are starting to get stronger though.

I can confirm that I heard the same rumors Proudly reported earlier with a bit more detailed info that he was told off in front of all other players and told he could go because he was using Barca's interest as a negotiating tactic to get a better deal off Arsenal.
I'm not one to quickly believe rumors but the Barca VP's presence in London now looks quite ominous with more details coming out.
Frimpong's recent tweet about loyalty being dead in football and him ressurecting it is also a sign of internal issues with the playing staff.
Methinks Arsene is doing a deep cleansing.

with van persie's deal, arsenal lost!
they have lost another marquee player to a club rival. in a nutshell, they have made a rival stronger by selling their best player to them.
how much is £24m to a club that rakes in £110m in gate takings per season? add the £360m chevrolet deal on top of that and united are laughing to the bank!!!!

now, i can't wait to see man utd @ the emirates this season with van persie smashing a hatrick! grin cheesy

I hear you coogar, the season soon cometh and we shall see who gets the last laugh. But don't be too quick to quote that 360m, word on the streets is that a lot of the deal was renegotiated after Chevrolet sacked Monsieur Ewanick who was your inside man, a lot of the deal was renegotiated and is currently shrouded in secrecy so as not to derail your yeye stock listing. By the way, what kinda influence did you have over the chap to sign such a ridiculous deal where you'll be earning double what Barcelona is earning from endorsements coming off a trophyless season? have the Glazers put some Dibias on the wage bill at OT?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by duduspace(m): 10:50pm On Aug 15, 2012
With RVP's deal everyone involved in this deal wins. Arsenal get the cash for a 29 year old injury prone player, Manure successfully pull the wool over their fans eyes that all is well on the money front at their club while salvaging their transfer window, Kees Voss abi na Voss Kees gets to keep his 10% while RVP gets his final big payday. As usual, the fans suffer (on both sides).
In the midst of all these, only one thing stands as fact, on these hallowed threads, we Gooners fell in love with a JUDAS.

La Selecao managed by A11
Mykaliz Destroyerz by Uzumaki Mykal

If Muki wants to come to equity with clean hands, I hereby subpoena her for the following so my defence team headed by Johnnie Cochran can scrutinize them rigorously.

1. Final standings in the H-2-H for 2011/12 season
2. Current list of entrants into the H-2-H FA Cup for 2012/13 season
3. A picture of herself swearing unclad at the Okija shrine equivalent in Gambia that the graphic she supplies is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth (A video recording will be better but a picture would be acceptable).
4. A sworn undertaking witnessed by a Notary Public (or Gambian equivalent) that she will not take back the worn G-Strings she and naijababe sent to me at my request on the Gooner thread last year. tongue

What do you mean? If he wants 'ambition' then Utd is the place to go as the most successful club in EPL history. It fits in fully with his desire for trophies.

The Del Piero comparison is wrong though, RVP won no titles with Arsenal, and does not personify the club in the way someone like Henry would.

He wants to leave - Utd should cough up 20m and let's move on. cool
