Can no 20 be Xabi Alonso? he has that serious look about him like a man on a mission. And I think 11 is Zlatan as well.

Seriously Debo, you must be violating some principle of grammatical construction by creating a sentence including Theo and Possession without a negation chucked in somewhere in there. It is like having pitch darkness occuring at midday and that only happens during a solar eclipse. cheesy

I'll take you down memory lane as usual, do you remember what you said about Dembele of Fulham when I mentioned him on a past thread in his first season at Fulham?

@Ed

The only reason why Arsene is loath to play youngsters these days is twofold, firstly our finances are now good enough to sustain a bigger wage bill and transfer fees for players like Gervinho and potentially Podolski and secondly the pressure to win something is so high since we've not won anything for so long.
The downside of it in my opinion is that more situations like Arshavin/Ox will occur but I guess one will just have to trust Arsene's management ability to know who is good enough and who isn't.

You are very right about opinions, the fact that you don't see the boy's qualities doesn't mean it isn't there. I'd really like other people's opinion of that clip you posted, its amazing we all can watch the same match and come away with different opinions. By the way, even in that clip, how many passes exactly did he give away? The question you should ask yourself is how many of Theo's crosses or balls into the box actually beat the first man and finds its way into the box at all despite all the possesion Arsenal have? and don't you think there is a massive difference between getting your ball supply from the likes of Arteta/Song and getting it from Reo-coker/Pratley?

One thing I know is that both Goal.com (7) and Skysports.com ( 8 ) gave him the highest player ratings only goal.com rated Mark Davies (who was very good as well) Top of the match and I didn't even see those ratings when I made my initial post but I had to go and check them out to be sure I wasn't periodically dozing off during the match cos you sounded so confident that he was rubbish during the match. grin

True, Ryo is still quite raw and physically and experience wise still has some development to do but the potential in that boy is unquestionable and I tell you this that Theo wasn't as good when we started playing him and the only qualities he has over the Ryo at this point in time is experience and possibly better composure in front of goal, in everything else he beats Theo handsdown IMO particularly in the variation to his game. Theo has never been comfortable with the ball at his feet when he is not running after it and I've hardly seen him beat anyone from a standing start where he's not already been in motion before a pass is played to him.

The only comparison I've made with Wilshere (not Szcesny) is that Ryo has settled quicker and been more influential at Bolton than Wilshere was and that the same way a small number of Bolton fans questioned Wilshere at the time despite his performances is what they are doing to Ryo now. The two are different types of players, Wilshere was not as effective as Ryo is on the wings just as i wouldn't expect Ryo to be as good as Jack is centrally. Szczesny went to Brentford and took over the gloves and started wowing Brentford fans immediately he joined them, I used to visit a Brentford forum and some of them kept slagging him off but were at the same time requesting if he could come back next season. grin grin

I really wouldn't mind Ryo still going out for another season, but not because I don't think he's good enough but because of the reasons I've given above, I think its unfair to keep on putting the pressures of a 7 season trophyless period which has created a horde of disgruntled fans on young players who might crack under the pressure. In that regards, I would take a proven player like Poldi anyday and allow Ryo to gradually develop out of the spotlight.

Lest I forget, thanks for this clip, its a beauty to watch. wink

proudly9ja: @dudu,

We are not discussing Ryo's performance in past matches. I responded to your post about Ryo's game against QPR. If you followed any Bolton FC fan forum real time during that game and/or actually watched the full match, you would know he had a poor game even for Bolton's standard. There's nothing wrong in having a poor game. But the way you put it was like Ryo was brilliant in the game and I reiterate that its not true. MOTM means little IMO because its relative to every other person's performance. The question is if that MOTM performance is good enough for Arsenal FC. Even Vela has been giving MOTM performances in Spain this season (including in last weekend's match incidentally) but that doesn't mean he will make it at Arsenal.

Here's a youtube link to Ryo's performance against QPR (the game in question). The video shows all his passes during the game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zQAQ9MJs7k

Watch it and tell me how well he performed before our own bros Taiye Taiwo came into the game.

Comparing Szczesny and Wlshere's loan spells with Miyaichi is criminal. Dem suppose flog you honestly grin grin grin. Those two were outstanding and way above their levels.

I still think Ryo has a long way to go before making it into Arsenal's first team. I still think he needs another season away to Bolton (if they stay up) or any other EPL side.

Now are you really serious or just seeking a reaction? grin

I really wonder what it is about my original post that has got you hormonal, seriously you might get flogged in your dreams tonite for this great disservice to Ryo. cheesy

Firstly, how many times in that youtube clip can you count that Ryo lost possesion needlessly or caused a breakdown in an attacking move? did you see his tracking back to help out his defence? did you see how he always stayed wide to provide an outlet everytime Bolton were on the attack even though he never really got quality passess from MF to exploit his pace? did you see how many balls he put into QPR's dangerous area? Finally, in the assist could you see that he received the ball back to goal, held it up and stayed composed enough to play in Klasnic?
Seriously, that pass to Klasnic with the outside of his foot is enough to win any player a MOM particularly cos it led to a winning goal, I'll get off Theo's back on the day he becomes capable of holding off other players and having a good touch enough to make such a pass. grin
I leave other Arsenal fans on the forum to judge that clip of Ryo themselves, you might just have shot yourself in the foot by posting it. tongue

As to Wilshere and Szczesny's loans, only those on the forum at that time can answer as to how much abuse I got from Debo (I'm just not that petty to start posting what some people in this same forum have written in the past about those 2 players everyone now gush over cos some people will be greatly embarrased tongue) when I kept bringing reports about them while they were on loan. And I'll tell you this that it did take Wilshere a while to settle as OC initially used him wide and he didn't quite gel in the Bolton team until he was played centrally in the hole. Wilshere as good a talent he was certainly didn't get player of the month in his first month with Bolton, you can confirm that from anyone who followed him while he was on loan.

He did get Man of the Match though but nothing special really from today's performance.

Na so you jobless reach wey your favorite pastime don become to dey watch Arsenal youngsters just so you can belittle their efforts even when they win MOM awards? abi na because your own youth players worth talking about don't seem to wanna commit to Manure? tongue grin

@Ed
Thank you jare, I understand what Proudly is saying in it not being one of Ryo's better performances but I think its a credit to the boy's impact that he won MOM on a day when he's not lived up to his own previous standards. Personally, I felt the boy played like a proper wide player and the fact that he was kept on the pitch by Coyle while a more experienced winger like Martin Petrov was taken off should cause anyone who holds a contrary opinion to have a rethink.

@Proudly
What you need to remember is that when yu're following a player who is on loan, you'll have fans of the club he's loaned to who hate him simply because he is not theirs and will only pick out faults and mistakes, but in the general consensus you'll know how well the player is doing. If over 50% of Bolton fans voted Ryo as their player of the past month with just 3 appearances or if you have a manager fighting relegation putting his trust in him, then he must be doing something right.
It was exactly the same when Szczesny was at Brentford and when Wilshere was at Bolton too.

goshen360: I have been thinking about this lately. The project is huge and time consuming but I came up with an idea that we (each one of us) can pull resources and knowledge together explaining, disagreeing and agreeing on our differences on bible explanation based on the most accepted explanation and truth here. Verse by Verse being explained or couple of verses put together and explained, then chapter by chapter. We can do this together instead of doing out thing separately. It will be amazing how we will move faster than expected.

I cannot do this project alone by myself considering the fact that, I might not be stable after some times. Hence, I decided to open it up to every bible teacher here on this forum. We can set the motion and any bible teacher here can go ahead teaching the truth. Questions can the directed to a teacher and anyone can answer with bible verses to back up his or her answers. In other words, I do not have the final teachings here. It is open to all bible teachers but we MUST go line by line, verse(s) by verse(s) and chapter by chapter. References can be made to old or new testament verses to explain a current verse being explained.

We can really progress and expose a lot of false teachings going on today in the body of Christ and spread sound biblical truth we learn here. I suggest we start with the New Testament. My reason is, the new testament is the old fulfilled. We can read the Old testament on our different level of studies in order to have a background to the new testament to share our thought and biblical truth here in relation to the new testament.

Friends, what do you think?

Is it only Christians who are welcomed? I am Agnostic but I do try to read my bible every day both as an exercise in Philosophy as well as a moral and social basis for living.

Are you sure you watched the Bolton game? As in the whole game not just highlight showing Ryo providing assist?

IMO Ryo was poor today playing from the right and many Bolton fans agree. In fact up til the goal, Ryo was marked out by Traore.  He was like Theo Walcott on a very bad day. No creativity and kept on passing the ball to the QPR players. Respite came his way when Hughes took out Traore for Taiwo. We all know Taiwo is a slow player. His first one on one with Ryo almost led to a goal.

I am impressed with his set piece delivery though. And I think he's better cutting in from the left. I don't know why Coyle played him on the right today.
Ryo is not yet at Arsenal level. Maybe by 2013/14 season but not next season (at least that part I agree with you)

I watched it all through and yu might be right in saying it wasn't a vintage performance in terms of beating his man as he was up against Armand Traore who we all know is quite fast himself but he still made quality deliveries into the box all through the game, kept the width through the match and more importantly made a sublime assist that got Bolton all the points and deservedly got the MOM from the sky pundits IMO.

And he was much better than Theo in possesion at any point in time. His passing was a bit awry but I'll put that down to understanding with his team mates. This is only his 5th or 6th game with the club remember? and he's already won Bolton player of the month in his very first month just like he did at Feyenoord.
The boy is a brilliant prospect no doubt.

Pique did an interview recently where they asked him to compare his old manager (Fergie) and Pep and he said the difference is Fergie doesn't even come to the training ground sometimes and spends more time in his office - which can only mean his no2 (Phelan) was the one Fergie left to take control of training. Isn't this the road to disaster?

Most of my friends disagree with me but I'm of the opinion we should buy Poldi and give Ryo a full season out with Bolton for next season if we can't guarantee games to keep him competitive.  We can always sell Poldi later if the boy is unstoppable just like Kaka drove Rivaldo out of AC Milan back in the day or how Ox has driven Arshavin away this season. grin

Stoke's defenders gave him acres of space and time on the right wing for nearly the entire first 45 and he did zilch with it.

Erm, Ivanovic is a CB masquerading as a RB, you'll need to give him a cocktail of drugs to turn him into a flying wingback to exploit any space. He is only good for defensive stability and danger at set piece opportunities.
