Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Laolu Akande, on Wednesday, responded to reports that the Aso Rock Villa Chapel has been relocated. The media aide said it was not fair to accuse the President of relocating the church when what happened was “the sorting out of procedural issues.” He insisted that it was baseless to assume that Buhari was hostile to Christians in the Presidential Villa. He tweeted: This is the second time Akande would go to twitter to defend the Presidency over the same issue in the last-two weeks. Earlier when an online media reported the closure of the children arm of the church, the VP’s aide told Nigerians to disregard the information. In fact, he described it as false. In his tweets, he said, “Speculations that Buhari moved against Christian activities at the Aso Villa Chapel is a blatant lie. I personally worshipped there on Sunday. “Also, claims that the children service at the Aso Villa closed down is equally false. Please disregard the wild claims being reported.” http://www.morisblog.com/2015/09/finally-aso-villa-wont-be-relocated-any.html?m=0

According to President Buhari, Boko Haram leaders are asking for the freedom of one of its arrested leaders in exchange for the release of the over 200 kidnapped Chibok girls. Buhari said this while speaking to Nigerians living in Paris yesterday September 15th. "They wanted us to release one of their leaders who is a strategic person in developing and making Improvised IEDs that is causing a lot of havoc in the country by blowing people in Churches, Mosque, market places, motor parks and other places. But it's very important that if we are going to talk to any body, we have to know how much he is worth. Let them bring all the girls and then, we will be prepared to negotiate, I will allow them to come back to Nigeria or to be absolved in the community. We have to be very careful, the concern we have for the Chibok girls, one only imagine if they got a daughter there between 14 and 18 and for more than one and a half year, a lot of the parents who have died would rather see the graves of their daughters rather the condition they imagine they are in. This has drawn a lot of sympathy though out the world, that is why this government is getting very hard in negotiating and getting the balance of those who are alive, ” he said. http://dunmorris..com.ng/2015/09/what-bokoharam-are-demanding-from.html?m=0#more |

AS Chocolate City held its first press conference under the leadership of its new CEO, Jude Abaga, better known as MI, The Chairman has reeled out some of the conditions artistes must possess if they must get signed on to the record label. According to Abaga, any artiste with the intent of working under the label must be hard working and should have been able to record close to 100 songs. The person, he said, must have about 10,000 followers. He also stated that the artiste must have a home base, meaning that he or she must first be a star wherever they are residing. “This is very important. Because there will be no need for you to say, ‘give me a chance’. They love fame, spotlight, and money. But that is the secret. You have to be a fan of music first, because the people you call mentors have a large knowledge of music,” the ‘short black boy’ stated. Currently, the label has the likes of Jesse Jagz, Pryse, VK, Koker, DJ Lambo, and Ruby under its wings. M.I is a Nigerian hip hop recording artist and the current CEO of Chocolate City Music. He has won several awards including the MTV Africa Music Awards 2009. He was nominated in the Best International Act category at the BET Awards 2010. He rose to prominence in 2006 when his song, Crowd Mentality, became popular in his hometown of Jos. On December 11, 2008, M.I released his critically acclaimed debut album, Talk about It. M.I is famed for having moderated the former Governor of Lagos State Babatunde Raji Fashola’s first ever Google+ hangout on energy conservation. http://thenationonlineng.net/how-to-be-a-member-of-chocolate-city-by-mi |

The hope of recovering the abducted Chibok girls yesterday dimmed further with the declaration by a returnee from Boko Haram camp. Twenty-one-year old Tabitha Adamu, one of the women freed from the sect’s camp and handed over to the Borno State Government last week, said the girls had turned to Boko Haram fighters. Tabitha, who is expectant for one of the sect’s commanders who forcibly married her, said she mingled with the girls at various times in the sect’s camp. According to Tabitha, she was taken from Bayan Dutse in Gwoza Local Government Area, when the insurgents invaded her village. She said: “They killed my father and brother. They took me along with my mother but at some point we were separated. Since then, I’ve not set my eyes on my mother. When he (Abu Kabir, my Boko Haram husband), wanted to marry me, he gave the women who were taking care of us N5,000 as my bride price. “Before the marriage, I was asked to convert to Islam. I did so because many who refused were killed and they gave me a name (Samira). I answered the name but I know my true name is my real name. When we were rescued I told the soldiers that my name is Tabitha. “They asked me if I am one of the wives of the Boko Haram and I told them my story. They felt for me and they treated me well. “Many people asked me since we were liberated, particularly about the pregnancy. I don’t know the right answer to give because I actually do not know what to do. It has happened. I don’t know what the authorities would do about it but I think it is too late to abort it. But my prayer is that I give birth safely.” Tabitha said she completed her secondary education and earned a certificate in computer appreciation in Maiduguri before moving to join her parents in Gwoza, at the peak of the Boko Haram insurgency. According to her, now that the government has promised to help her, she would be looking for a good future when she finally gains her freedom after the government might have trained her in a trade. http://dunmorris..com.ng/2015/09/chibok-girls-now-fights-for-bokoharam.html?m=0#more Source The Nation |
The Lagos State chapter of the PDP is not happy with Governor Ambode first 100 days in office. According to a Statement issued by the PDP publicity Secretary Toafik Gani “there is no doubt that Governor Ambode is overwhelmed by the rot he discovered and inherited in the state. Rather than expose this and apologise to lagosians, he has chosen to be deliberately indifferent in order to shield the APC as a failed Party in the state. Thus putting the interest of his party above the general interest of the Lagos electorates”. Checking on Governor Ambode 100 days in office the PDP said it delayed assessment was deliberate to reveal the governors public opinion. ”Similarly, the governor ought to have resolved the lingering crisis in LASU within 100 days. The glory of the only State’s University has been destroyed in the last 5 years and the university has become more of a theatre of shame to the state. ”What about the delay in the conduct of local government elections? This is a gross misconduct and violation of the constitution for the governor and House of Assembly not to have put in place logistics for conduct of polls into the councils within 100 days. The law requires just 60 days as notice for polls. http://dunmorris..com.ng/2015/09/governor-ambode-100days-in-office-is.html?m=1 |
