A lot of us here don't understand what's going on. Nigeria is in a big mess, desperate measures need to be taken. It's easy to go with the group calling the idea stupid but that's only because we are ignorant and short sighted or maybe selfish. Pls find out why, do a research as to the implications and impact of the reasons behind the policy. You'll be shocked. The number of Nigerians the policy would significantly affect (negatively)is still a minority compared to the entire populace. At the same time, the government needs to look for more ways to find solutions to the economic crisis and fast too. One way.... loots, thefts must be refunded and prudently managed going forward. 1 Like |

It's about one week.... Nothing much has changed except for some items that arrived by air freight within 5working days - very commendable, but then, it's not free, I paid for it! The reasons for the delays in updating my shipments to my US warehouse are not tenable for me. All the deliveries received at the time had the SAME LABEL and were all from the SAME STORE. So why where some updated immediately and others hidden to accrue charges? I had asked that 2 items be updated so as to meet up with yesterday's shipping, but with no apologies from stmd, the update didn't happen till today and now I have to wait a whole week... Till this moment, after several updates of invoices, the UK items still have the the estimated values. I don't even know the status of my items - the ones shipped without my consent and the rest. All I'm aware of, is that to resolve the issues stmd caused, we will wait till all items are in Nigeria for consolidation and payment. But this is taking tooooo long. My items must not get missing 'sha'! So far so good though, I appreciate Temitope - CS personal who's been consistent in attending to me. I'm also not satisfied with the significant difference in packaging dimensions/details from the store of purchase as compared with measurements at your warehouse. How can ear studs or a round braceletwatch measure 10" on any side?? Also, how come the $20promo container is yet to sail?? Events still unfolding.... |

Shoptomydoor, why are you so swift to attend to complaints on this platform but work at snail speed when emails or calls are made to your customer service contacts All these success stories are nice but I refuse to be carried away until all my concerns and issues with you are resolved today and my goods shipped out tomorrow. Worse still, Nduka no longer responds to emails, maybe cause a lot of sweet songs are now being sung. Summary of my complaints, Always takes over 48hrs in uploading orders even after many calls and prompts. Had a shipment that took up to 2 weeks. After so much effort to get them to locate my goods, the order shows up and I'm charged for wrong addressing when the address on the package is the exact same as the address on all my other packages. The invoice is there for them to see. Another observation, US shipping more straightforward, realistic, somewhat hassle free than UK shipping. Terrible mistake using their UK services. I have lost sleep over my orders. There are many other freight forwarders to consider esp in the UK. All items are overvalued even after repeatedly sending and uploading invoices. Nothing happens. I'm guessing you make a lot of money from the 10% flat rate customs fee, that's why you beef up the values of items. The scales at shoptomydoor need calibration, besides, they measure to the nearest whole number. So if your package weighs 0.6lbs, you'll get 1lbs instead and of course your chargeable weight goes higher and that's more money for shoptomydoor. In UK, no consolidation, my items get split and shipped contrary to my instructions and consent. No apologies/ assurances whatsoever, now I plan on returning some goods, so what next? Now , this one beats me, if you choose to buy a bogus item eg a plastic tray measuring 18'' by16" by 2", get ready for a whole in your pocket from the shipping costs. Could go as high as $50. It doesn't matter to shoptomydoor as in, they don't care if the value of the item is 79cents and the weight is .8lbs. You get to talk to all the customer service people to resolve issues from temitope to Hannah, to ebuka, to debbie, to Bisola but you know what? Nothing or little is achieved other than 'we'll forward it to the dept in charge to handle this'. And you need to sing the whole song of complaints to every customer service personnel you speak to. I have spent 1.5hrs on my call credit talking to them at a go, but we've not moved much from where we started from. The core function of any customer service is to clarify, resolve and provide solutions to ALL of customer's concerns and promptly too with minimal effort by the customer! The ratings of any service provider is not so determined by what he normally does or should do (that's what he's being paid for anyway), but more about how he handles customers' issues and concerns when they arise. People are supposed to get their shipments so don't think you've arrived with all these songs of praises offered by customers, it's the proper way to do business. The true test of how good you are is how you handle issues. I have raised many issues and will give the house feedback on how this unfolds. Regrettably, I don't have sweet praises to sing for shoptomydoor. NG1854. |

@Charlesnerd, that was part of my grievances with them. Send them an email with the copy of your invoices so that the appropriate values would reflect in your warehouse. Remember that custom charges is 10% of the declared value of your item. |

glassy2606:Glassy, calm down. I know how you feel. Felt that way about 3 weeks ago, you are not the only one who has encountered refusal. First things first, hope your ds160 form didn't contradict any of your answers, just wondering why VO asked how much you earn and why your quick response was that your hubby was sponsoring. with 280-350k a month as your earnings, would have expected that you had your own statment with you to prove that. Yea, it is a good idea when reapplying to get an estimate from a hospital instead of a health centre. You seem to be quite anxious, you'll need to keep calm for your next interview in order not to be appear desperate. I've told my self as much as I want this the worst case scenario is that I'd have my baby in Naija ie it's not a do or die affair. If a VO wants to scrutinize all 3 SOAs, trust me they will, my VO spent a good time looking through mine but in the end had no questions for me. But again you might want to consider streamlining to just 2 so that you have something significant in each. You can try Abuja, but I don't think it's a guarantee. There's the assumption that folks there are more lenient. But I think there are some gaps in your application you have to fill esp. The hospital thing. Lastly it doesn't matter if your weren't showing in another 4-6 weeks when you'll get a reappointment date, you'll be showing. All the best dear. Keep calm and tell God, let your will be done. 5 Likes |

@Chloe7. You do not necessarily have to wait till midnight. I suggest you keep checking on line from time to time. Yesterday afternoon within 20 minutes, the times available changed from June 23, to 29 to July 22, to July 27 I also do not think it's about the summer travellers. Thing is they've had to reschedule a lot of appointments due to their tech issues. Same reason why they've not been able to print visas for those who have been granted, and had to submit their passports . Let's hope their technical issues are resolved soonest. |

Thanks Nerf, that's really encouraging I must say cos I'm trying hard not to feel bad and blame myself for something I'm not aware of. @dyout. Thanks too. we've thought of that too I.e. applying with hubby, but she didn't ask one question about hubby. She only acknowledged that I was married. And it was right afterwards she asked if we had children. @Nogen, I read somewhere that you can politely ask to be interviewed by another VO should you meet the same VO who had interviewed you before. My thoughts exactly, hubby staying back was to make ties stronger at least for the purpose of my interview. |

Hello travels gurus Had my visa interview yesterday but was refused; worst part is can't seem to place my hansd on what went wrong, so I'm skeptical about reappling for fear of rejection. I really wish I knew what I shouldn't have done or should have done. Was pretty confident from all the learnings I had garnered here. Background: Applied for B2, used Lagos, married, self sponsored, travelling alone, budget of about 12.1K , Oakbend medical center, precious cedars for 10 weeks accommodation, Dr FF. SOA balance of about 3.5M in 2 banks with very good inflow and outflow. First time applicant to US, previously travelled for holiday to Ghana and Dubai. Work for a multinational.23weeks gone. Transcript(in no particular order): It seemed like I was her first interviewee or she just came from a break cos she had window blinds half way down her window and was settling down with a cup of coffee or something. Quite formal Black woman, no smiles etc. Hardly had eye contact, cos she kept typing, her fingers were so fast.Seemed to take forever, cos she kept typing. where are you going to in the US? Richmond texas Why?Vacation and child birth. Who have you contacted? FF of OBC How longdo you plan to spend? 10 weeks Wherewould you be staying? Precious Cedars. Where do you work? Xyz What do you do there? Bla bla bla how long have you been there? ...yrs How much do you earn? Xyz do you have a birth plan? gave her + FF correspondences and Precious Cedars emails. CanI see your statements. Sure, passed them to her she studied and studied and studied. So you are going for 3 months. No... 10 weeks. I see you are married. Yes I am Do you have any children. No, this is our first. Have youtravelled outside? Yeah, UAE. And kept typing and typing and typing. I'm sorry bla bla bla, gave me the blue paper with 214b reasons for refusal. ...that's as far as I can remember... I had a portmanteau filled with proofs, but you don't prove what you weren't asked, rightHow do I prove strong ties, thought my place of work, job role and the fact that my husband wasn't travelling with me was good enough. Ireally do not know what to do differently? 1 Like |

abeg Chloe, your visa awaits you. Looking back now, wish they had asked me to come back too. But that's just the benefit of hindsight. I was there in good time today but was denied. Still at a loss as to where I could have gone wrong or rather, where the VO went wrong. She focused on my work place and kept asking questions and typing. To every question I had an answer and the end no strong ties. Purpose was child birth, clearly stated. She confirmed I was married but didn't even ask about my hubby who isn't travelling. I even thought that was strong enough for a tie. Coupled with my work place which is a multinational oil firm. Right now, not sure if I should reapply or what my chances will be. Do I apply with hubby or how else do I prove strong ties. I'm beginning to feel the strong ties reason is a camouflage, could there be something else Chose to share this to let those who've been denied also to know that it happens, cos it seems people would rather share their experiences when they get their visas. To all those attending their interviews soon esp generous Chloe7(I admire your spirit) wish you the very best and all round favour. |
