The pioneer of the Afrobeat music genre and human rights activist. At the height of his popularity, he was referred to as one of Africa's most "challenging and charismatic music performer.

He was also a prophet who warned Nigeria of impending doom with "Beasts of no Nation" when he slammed Obasanjo and Buhari. Nigerians failed to heed his warning and gave these two leaders 16 years to further destroy the nation and turn it into the poverty and corruption capital of the world.

He also spoke against corruption of M.K.O Abiola and his alleged payments to government officials for I.T.T to win the telecommunications sales contracts in Nigeria.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWUABi-aiYM

He was often brutalized by the military authorities and jailed for speaking out against their epidemic corruption and misgovernance. The saturation point was reached when the military killed his grandmother by throwing her off the second floor of one of the building in his shrine.

Fela Kuti is recognized by world leaders like Former United States President,Barack Obama, who is acknowledged his work to Prime Minister of France,Emanuel Macron, whose first port of call when he came to Nigeria, was Fela Shrine in Lagos. He has also been immortalized by Hip Hop royalty Jay Z and Hollywood royalty Will Smith, who teamed up to immortalize his work in a Broadway Musical "Fela!" in New York,USA.

Point of correct, Fela Kuti was never the pioneer of the Afrobeat music genre either in Nigeria or Africa. Yari.ba peeps always will deceitfully arrogate unfathomable accolade to themselves. Fela Kuti was just a follower of Afrobeat music.

Kingspin:
I have seen videos where fellow blacks question the black lives matter protest, and i listen to them, they also have a valid point.
There is more to Black lives matter protest. Yes. Going by the way they went about it

What I observed during the protest, many US media houses went totally silent about-face masks and social distancing rule, the lockdown in place, COVID 19 news practically disappeared, only to resurface now the protest went down.

At the same time, the so-called liberal media never condemned those burning cars and looting shops. Neither did they spoke up that protesters should isolate or avail themselves for COVID 19 test. If you watch closely the liberal agencies including politicians fueled the unrest.

Fellow the news well.

Again how can somebody call for police defunding, who does that?

Perhaps, Trump understands something that many don't see.
He keeps talking about opening church, the economy soon so that people will return to their normal life.
While Trump is trying to find a way out; the media don't bother. For how long are people going to be lockdown? Forever?

American democrats, media are the front promoting gay rights, transgender and all that then work to silent the church. Many missionary schools fund withheld until Trump came.

Note: Why do CNN and friends talk or sympathize more with other religion then the Church?.

The issue of human rights and equal should include the church and conservatives. All of us cannot share one view especially with the Gay. And since Trump came the Gay issue has been put to rest worldwide unlike Obama.

These events prompt me to ask who really determine what is good or wrong for all of us?
Again, many of us have forgotten the controversial mandatory health care bill by the National Assembly linked to Bill Gates.

Although, it is believed that Trump have signed the bill but he stop at making it mandatory to all Americans.

While many believe Trump is up for good or bad depend which side of the divide. I still share some view with pastor Chris Oyakhilome. He may not have all the fact but he also understands the movement around the world regarding COVID19 handlers. They appear to be moving really fast.

Believe it or not, the world is entirely entering an advance digital world which could include human. Yes. The next 200 years is going to be deriving by powerful science and technology like never seen before.

I will keep following the development carefully and listen to both sides.

I urge y'all to do same roundly.

Why is COVID 19; a mystery and much controversial?

Only a fool thinks the current protest is all about the so-called Black lives. By the way, Black does not have a life. Black is color and only in figment of imagination of s goon that mere color becomes a human being. This is 1965 civil right revisited. The so-called rights these ninnies seemed to protest were allegedly given to them 55 years ago. One wonders what right are the so-called blacks are shouting about. During current riots, these deluded folks kept shouting " we will vote". The question remains have you not voted one political party for more than 55 years?

Racists and tribalistic people are yet to evolve to complete human beings. They still have much animalistic traits. They are still in between apes and humans. Completely evolved humans are well mentally developed and see no reason or need for Tribalism, racism, back biting, robbery, rape and other vices.

With these few points of mine, I think I have been able to convince you that Buhari, Tinubu, Hope Uzodimma, most Nigerian politicians and criminals are yet to evolve to normal and complete humans.

Thank you.

It is unfortunate certain people allow ignorance to becloud their human intellect. There is only one race on earth and it is human. Racism is a misnomer and only exist in figment of imagination of certain goons on earth. Human beings have preference to choose whom to associate therefore no person can force anybody to be in friendly relationship on earth. If you are being restless due to your inferior mentality, I say deal with it. The politics of criminality has nothing to do with how individuals relate to one another. Only dumbass jackasses on earth who have woefully failed to upgrade their socio-politico-economic well being keep shouting racism. Politics / Re: Obaseki: I Regret Not Joining PDP Earlier by Duru1(m): 7:28pm On Jun 27, 2020
ganisucks:

Edo Governor Godwin Obaseki has said he regretted not joining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) long before he did.

Ruing his about 13- year sojourn in the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Governor said he had come to realis the PDP stood for the values he so much cherished and lived for.

Obaseki spoke on Saturday at the Abuja secretariat of the PDP being presented with certificate of return as the party’s flag bearer for the September 19 Edo governorship election.
The governor, who spoke for himself and his deputy, Philip Shuiabu, said unlike the APC that pushed them out in the rain and storm at their hours of tribulation, the PDP cared so much for its members.

Obaseki said: “It was only when we entered the house (PDP) that we realised that this was the house we should have been in the first instance.

“Because we now saw that the values in the house are the values we cherish and the values we lived for; values of justice, values of law and order, values of care for our people, putting the people first.

“These are the values we have always been in pursuit of, which we found in this new house in which we have been graciously accommodated.

“My deputy and I are very grateful to this great party. Like I said, you will never know what God has destined for you. In our hours of tribulation, when we were pushed out in the rains and storm from our political party, you came out with that huge umbrella to give us cover and shelter”.

“I must thank members of the National Working Committee for the quality of governance, the quality of response that I have witnessed. That has enabled us achieve much in less than one week because of the responsiveness of the National Organising Secretary.

“They followed up on every issue and every document. When issues came up, the National Legal Adviser was there to respond to all our inquiries. The National Publicity Secretary checked on us every day”.

The Governor told the PDP leaders the people of Edo state had assured him that they would always follow him to whichever political he chose to belong.

According to him, his decision to join the PDP was a product of wide consultations with Edo people and assured the party leaders of massive votes and victory for the PDP in the September election.

Thanking the party leaders for allowing him to run with his deputy, Obaseki pledged to uphold the ideals of the PDP at all times and to submit to the directives of the leadership.

“I want to commit to you that we shall promote the ideals of this great party and you can always count on us. Whenever the National Working Committee calls on us, we will be there.

“We have no choice because from what I have seen from my brother governors in this party, what they have done and what they did for us in the party, revived my political career, I have never seen that level of commitment”, he said.

While presenting the governor with the certificate of return, the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, assured Obaseki of inclusiveness, equity, justice and fairness at all times.

According to him Obaseki’s emergence as the party’s flag bearer followed due process, stressing that the PDP had learnt enough lessons from its past mistakes to not embrace impunity.

“We have learnt from our mistakes and we have reformed so we have come with open arms to embrace everybody. We are not a sectional party, we will not be there and some parts of the country will be crying. Nigeria belongs to all us.

“Today, we have taken an important step to ensure that Edo people believe in us. They believe in us and they will vote for PDP. So from Edo, we will move to Ondo and gradually to all parts of the country.

“Every body believed that for the governor to join the PDP was a miracle and we are going to have a miracle governor who will win elections for us because you can see clearly the hand of God on this governor and his deputy”, Secondus said.

Addressing Governor Obaseki, the PDP chairman said, “Your Excellency, in PDP we are guided by the rule of law, we are guided by our rules and we are guided by the people’s interest.

“We are driven by the fact that we must provide the best governance for our people. Since you came in, you can see that we are guided by process.

“In PDP, the institution here has a system that is transparent, free and fair for all to see and you have witnessed it since the last few weeks. God has been our guide here, we are a people, a party that fear God and we put the interest of our people first not our personal interests”.

While submitting his report, the chairman of the electoral panel that conducted the Edo primaries, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state, said from what he witnessed in Edo, the state will be won by the PDP.

He said: “Edo is ready for capture. To be won by this very important party, the PDP. I am very sure and confidently that Edo is going to fall in line within the realm of good governance of the PDP”.

Godwin Obaseki, I say shut the hell up. You are not a PDP and never will. You are a typical Nigerian who jumps to any opportunity without minding the consequences. I hate members by emergency and I wish you are defeated in the polls.

Yes, I was wrong about the seniority and the the universities and you mainly right, but hear from the Rtd. General, Olufemi Olutoye

I made a lot of friends in the military. There was Emeka Ojukwu, who was a very good friend. I remember I visited him at Oxford University when he was graduating. I was then already a graduate doing post-graduate studies at Cambridge University and I went to visit fellow Nigerians who were also at Oxford University. I met Ojukwu there only to discover later that we would meet again in the Army.

Read his interview here:
https://allafrica.com/stories/201805060019.html

When Olufemi Olutoye came to Cambridge for further studies, Ojukwu graduated the same year 1955. Now Olufemi Olutoye fininshed from Cambridge not Oxford in 1956. He became a high school principal in western region of Nigeria. In 1959, Olufemi Olutoye joined Nigeria army. By the time Olufemi was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in 1960, Ojukwu was already a Captain. When Olufemi Olutoye was a Captain in 1966, Ojukwu was a Lt Col. It must recall that Ojukwu enlisted in 1957 while Olutoye enlisted in 1959. What is wrong with most Nigerians? Ordinary year, they cannot calculate.

RagaMufeen:
If the bill is passed, we will not see the likes of Buhari again.

Benjamin Mzondu, a member of the house of representatives from Benue state, has introduced a bill seeking to raise the academic qualification for election into the office of the president.

The constitution alteration bill on ‘educational qualification for certain political offices’ passed first reading at the house’ plenary session on Thursday.

Mzondu told TheCable on Friday that the piece of proposed legislation seeks to provide a post-secondary school qualification for the office of the president and that of governor.

The lawmaker, who represents Makurdi/Guma federal constituency, said the amendment is being made to fill in the gap in the constitution regarding academic qualifications.

Section 131 (chapter VI) of the constitution states that a person may be qualified for election into the office of the president if among others things, “they have been educated up to at least school certificate level or its equivalent”.

“The constitution does not give an explicit qualification for the office of president,” Mzondu told TheCable.

“We want to define it properly. If it is secondary, it is; if it is university, it is. It is seeking to fill the gap.

“I am proposing (in the bill) that the president should have at least a diploma after secondary education. There should be a post-secondary school education that should be added.”

A Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retd), has declared that the people of the South East are the legitimate owner of Nigeria.

Gowon made this known while speaking during a conference for National Unity entitled: “Federal Character, Restructuring and Rotation of Presidential Power in Nigeria”, in Abuja on Thursday, March 5.

The conference was organized by Igbo Leadership Development Foundation.

The former Nigerian leader stated that; “I believe that the Ndigbo, Middle belt and the Yoruba’s are the true Nigerians because if you look round our borders, people came from abroad and are still coming but Ndigbo have always been there, middle belt have always been there, even Yoruba’s have always been there”

“(It’s sad that) people who came in yesterday who have a duty of respect are now the ones talking, ” he added.

During the war, the Nigerian army outnumbered their Biafran Counterparts 4 – 1.

While Nigeria had the British government supplying them arms and ammunition and Egypt supplying them planes, Biafran had to produce their arms and ammunition and other necessary war machines locally because the federal government already closed the borders on Biafran and other neighboring countries were supporting Nigeria.

These are some of Biafrans’ best inventions/innovations during the war.

Ojukwu, The Coward Secessionist-

Dimka Odumegwu Ojukwu of Biafra-Biafaa or Bia-Kpara, Ogoni version! With due respect to reasonable Igbos and the public. It isn't proper to rejoice over anyone's death. I'm also not doing so, rather pointing to the man Ojukwu. I hope readers would understand my truth that can be found through history and can't be disproved otherwise.

Ojukwu, who was good in his own right couldn't stand Ken Saro-Wiwa and his truth about Ogoni-saving our people from Biafra and Ojukwu's madness and greed (popularly known as Nigerian-Biafran Civil War, 1967-1970), was the number one coward.

Ojukwu sold Biafra due to his greed for oil and disrespect for Ogonis and other minorities of today's Niger delta. Biafra was mostly harshed due to the presence of Ogoni/Niger delta oil. If it succeeded Ogonis, who were already enslaved by Igbos in Ogoni land will be registered slaves today. Saro-Wiwa saw this and fought against it. Thus his crime at the hands of Ojukwu and other Biafran praise-singers who then sought Saro-Wiwa's head.

Meanwhile, Ojukwu ran away from his people at a critical moment into exile. Millions of innocent Igbos (Ogonis and other minorities also died in numbers at home and Igbo camps) killed while he ran away.

No wonder seasoned Igbos, including late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe refused to support Ojukwu and his Biafran insanity!

Though Ojukwu returned from Ivory Coast under Shehu Shagari or so. He couldn't have the opportunity to fight to revive Biafra again. This was contrary to the saying: he who fight and run away lives to fight another day.

Saro-Wiwa stood by his people to the end. He's a global hero while Ojukwu is the Igbo coward!

As mentioned inter alia, death is an inevitable end, so not proper to rejoice over the death of others. I'm not rejoicing over Ojukwu's death. Ojukwu's death, however, can't come without the truth about him, unlike the lies he told abroad about Saro-Wiwa and Ogonis. I hope readers may understand.

Because Ojukwu was cheap, greedy, yet with one of the best education but knew nothing to do with it, he's bribed by the Federal government of Nigeria (under Sanni Abacha), sponsored abroad to justify the world's environmental and human rights hero's (Saro-Wiwa) unjust hanging.

The coward in Ojukwu couldn't get away with that trash! He's bathed in rotten eggs; a high profile disgrace given in the West, when he went to London justifying Saro-Wiwa's unjust death of Nov. 10, 1995.

Today, Ojukwu is left to the Igbos of his kind and some Nigerians such as Goodluck Jonathan, who love violence and has already said, according to Sahara Reporters' Nov. 26 report, "Ojukwu's place in Nigerian history is assured."

Anyone still unsure that Jonathan and his Nigerian cabal hate Saro-Wiwa and Ogoni? How shameful to see a country love and honor violence and trash nonviolence and intellectual discussions, arguments for rights (as with Saro-Wiwa and Ogonis) and freedoms to the cutters!

That is the Nigeria run by the so-called majority ethnic groups for you. We can see Boko Haram like Ojukwu's Biafra, in action, supported also by Jonathan and his Hausa counterparts. We can see Jonathan sit and look confused, not sure of what to do with Boko (like he paid off Niger delta militants whose agitation was just, if not their greed and unintellectual approach) begging for help from America.

Finally, is Jonathan, one of the Ojukwu-Biafran violent praise-singer confused about the peaceful Ogonis, their just agitation for political, social and economic justice, ruined environment? No! He and the Federal government is hardened, waiting for a period when news may come that all Ogonis are extinct due to environmental degradation and government, $hell's inaction and stupidity. Shame on Nigeria, because Ogoni, which is older than Nigeria will live to shame the Ojukwus and its Nigerian oppressors!

You are very delusional and one of the reasons Ogoni had been dilapidated. I am not sure between you and Saro-Wiwa who had most destructive effect on Ogoni. Without the SBPC, Ken Saro-Wiwa could have ended up as elementary school teacher or drunken fisherman. Ken Saro-Wiwa's father was garri supplier to Government College, Umuahia. I knew how he got the contract. The SBPC's scholarship utilized by Ken Saro-Wiwa was meant for Ogoni peeps whose parents could not afford to pay their wards school fees yet it was skewed to Ken Saro-Wiwa. Ken Saro-Wiwa was product of corruptible tendencies such as nepotism and cronyism.

the only thing that caught my attention is that he was the first graduate to enter the army

even though I disapprove of the war

we can never change the fact that he was a very great man

Of course, he was a great man. He had university degree from Oxford University, civil servant position of ADO (Assistant District Officer) and a parentage with the deepest pocket yet he abandoned all the goodies and joined rough and tumble world of a soldier.

Wrong narrative.

Ojukwu declared a war on Nigeria when he seceded.

Whoever that posted above crap is moronically insincere. Anyway, Nigerians are roots of insincerity. Gowon declared war on eastern region when he included eastern region in his destructive madness when he replaced regionalism with states. It was even idiotic on the part of Gowon to include a region which did not recognize his position as C-in-C in the foolery of creation of states.

this summary is poorly written and the event are lies. 1st Gowon was a Lt Col not a Lt. also war was decleared when Biafran forces invaded the Midwest and got as far as ore. prior to that it was a policing action .

You are worse than the poster you intended to correct if the only error you detected is the rank of Gowon. You are not qualified to indulge in this debate. What the hell do you know about police action? From the crap you posted above, I can bet my last cent you do not know how to read ordinary calendar created in cardinal form. Please get lost!!

Lol. Col. Adeyinka Adebanjo was the most important person in his life, without him, ojukwu would have been a cloth merchant in his father's shop. yoruba have done so much for these people.

You are a very frustrated individual. Ojukwu's father was not a cloth merchant. Must Nigerians resented the idea of Ojukwu, the son of a millionaire, joining the army. Yari.ba peep was not important in this case because any young man could have been enlisted as Adeyinka Adebanjo did. Who was the father of Adeyinka Adebanjo?

Since it now appears like let every gov develop his senatorial zone in Imo state, all it shall take now is a little money for a gov from Okigwe zone to activate Okigwe regional surface water supply project to make the LGAs in Okigwe zone to have public water supply system. Imo state govts after Mbakwe till Udenwa had put more than N10 billion in Okigwe water project. Okigwe water project was commissioned by late president Yar Adua in 2008, but why Ohakim could not reticulate water from it is only known to him.

It's only a fraudulent gov who would abandon Okigwe regional surface water supply project and go to sink water boreholes instead for public water supply for people in Okigwe senatorial zone.

There have been Imo State governors from Okigwe who had, at least, one term of 4 years of governance. Mbakwe and Ohakim were from Okigwe zone. Only Ewerem from Owerri zone and he did not last more than six months as governor of Imo State. Owerri is the capital of Imo State as Abakaliki is the capital of Ebonyi State. Besides Abakaliki, what other town is mentioned in Ebonyi State with respect to development?
