PoliticsRe: Short Profile Of Professor Yemi Osinbajo by DVanguard: 4:59pm On Dec 15, 2014
Aya, see PDP, TAN Ambassadors crying over another man's problem. APC is known for Technocrat Deputies. The popularity of Buhari and Tinubu alone is enough for PDP to battle with. If you condemn Yemi what will you say of Sambo.
How popular is Sambo?
Yemi dust him Internationally, Professionally, religiously, creatively, clean record (integrity like his boss Buhari), renown intellectual and an accepted ICON in Legal practice in Nigeria.Vote wise, Osinbajo political dynasty controls the political power of his region.
Yemi Osinbajo don't need much media hype to be known, cos his service to Christianity (RCCG) in Nigeria alone will shoot him up. Aya, an na PDP start the religious card. Now APC have provided a candidate that are excellent in what ever service or function they participate. Be it religion and profession. TAN Ambassador How market. I dey Laugh ooooooooo.

No one can question his brilliance and there are many like him all across Nigeria

But my question is how is he anymore of an electoral value than Tunde Bakare?
He is a full of quality that cannot be challenged and he has a formidable political bigwigs around him to sell him. He is of top quality that will sell internationally because of his United nation work experience, his Legal Output in Nigeria Judiciary system, and again he is a re-known RCCG pastor. He shares only Pastoral function with Bakare but has lots of excellent qualities that Nigerian will adore. Can you compare him with Namadi Sambo. We both know the weight of Sambo. For Tinubu and South west counterpart to endorse him. The 6 states of southwest is a sure vote.
Let us compare him with Sambo. Their achievement towards Nigeria's growth.

This is one trait that Buhari and his supporters have in common. Why do you find it easy to accuse those who do not share your political opinion as being blinded by hatred and envy? You do not like GEJ, his supporters are civil enough to consider it your right. Why are you stuck in 1983 like your master? What most of you don't seem to understand is that in a democracy, which most of you in APC know nothing about, a PhD holder in political philosophy has the same number of vote as the unschooled market woman in remote Nembe.

Here you are making efforts to prove that Tinubu is not corrupt while at the same time accusing the FG of corruption. Can't you see the problem in your position? You have no right to label anybody for holding a contrary political opinion in a democracy. The best you can do is to persuade them and not malign them. Well, it is obvious that persuasion is very strange to most people of your political colouration.
AHAHAHA, you persuade those with open mind and not those with made up mind. What effort have i made to prove Tinubu is not corrupt other than state the obvious. You accuse me of trying to prove Tinubu is not corrupt but accusing the FG of being corrupt. Are you saying the writer i quoted is stating the Fact. You talk of persuasion by making these statements 1. " This is one trait that Buhari and his supporters have in common.". Is that statement persuasive or condemning? 2. "Why do you find it easy to accuse those who do not share your political opinion as being blinded by hatred and envy?". What is the difference from the quoted above with your final statement on you last paragraph. "Well, it is obvious that persuasion is very strange to most people of your political colouration".
Are you saying what i stated is not a known fact in Nigeria. Why call Tinubu or other political office holders in APC criminals or thieves when no court have convicted them but PDP have members that have been convicted and some are still serving their terms in jail. Who do you expect Buhari to pinch his tent with, the group that have convicted criminals and group with alleged criminal tendency? If not hatred why condemn Buhari and Tinubu for no stated facts. If not envy, why peddle rumours that are unfounded about their personality.

Buhari is not sincere on his corruption stand if not he won't go to same bed with characters like Tinubu and co.tinubu is corruption personified.
Aya pele, He dines with Tinubu ( Tinubu, who have not been indicted by any court of law or any administrative enquiry for corruption, but for your hatred for Tinubu without any facts to back your corruption case. Even PDP will be willing to indicted Tinubu if they have their way) makes him not sincere but the man that dines with alamesiya, bode george, buruji, Abacha's family, etc is the sincere man. It is quite unfortunate. The last record of indicted or alleged corrupt governors are mostly of PDP extraction. EFCC and ICPC are FG (PDP-LED) apparatus to fight corruption, at least it should have been used to witch hunt also the opposition party if really they are as corrupt as your self aclaim judgement make them. Don't tell me they don't have the balls. Hatred and Envy is a disease.

Jaydee009:
I believe GMB is a good man. If given the chance, he will begin the process of leading Nigeria out of the woods. However, here are some factors that will stop the General come 2015.

1. Nigeria and Nigerians are not truly ready for change, they prefer the status quo, because many of them are benefitting immensely from the many loopholes of the system.

2. Southerners don't like Buhari cos they believe he is an Islamic extremist/fundamentalist. This will make it difficult to win down south, just like in previous elections.

3. All the powerful people who have looted and ruined Nigeria are in PDP. They obviously want to enjoy their loot in peace without the interference of a no-nonsense Buhari.

4. A lot of people believe Buhari should step down and support a younger candidate who understands today's issues in Nigeria and not act like a desperate "old man" bent on seizing power by all means. Etc

5. PDP and their stomach infrastructure policy will see voters selling their votes to the highest bidder (PDP of course).

6. Nobody is yet to master the art of systematic rigging like PDP. They are masters of the game!

7. Buhari's poor past records especially in the area of human rights abuses as military head of state will haunt him
1. Majority of Nigerians do not benefit from the failed system except few that are in power. The present economic hardship hitting the country is another excuse for sane minded and financial experts to finance the opposition to defeat the incumbent to protected their dwindling business. The major economic crisis in the country is cause by negligence, corruption, impunity and lack of vision by the present government.

2. There are three zones in the south; south west, south east and south south. He might not be popular 2011 but now with the media and his alliance with known figures in the south, he is popular. His popularity in the south west is mighty, that it pays PDP if APC does not make Buhari their candidate. The south east and south south have a high support for GEJ but this time Buhari will have a higher entry than 2011. Remember that the total vote from south south and south east put together is less than a million vote higher than south west.

3. Yes, thanks for enlightening us about the financial war chest of PDP, but remember some of them wants to protect their fortunes economically in a viable state rather than in a failed state. Buhari don't really need the financial warriors but i am pretty sure that they would want to support the person who will protect their investment not someone who will plunge the country into financial mess. How do you think the present economic downfall in Nigeria will be fixed with this government that is clueless and lacks vision.

4. Thanks for the dream, Lots of countries that have changed from old ways to new ways were achieved by older men. From Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, etc. What we need now is a man of integrity and will power to change things. Most of the young men can be manipulated. But person like BUHARi, you can't cos he has seen so many things in life.

5. Stomach Infrastructure indeed, lets see how it goes. That depends on Nigerians cos after Ekiti issue, it became a eye opener.

6. Master rigging, lets see how it goes. I believe you can only rig in the where you are popular.

7. Indiscipline is now human right abuse, how about that of the current President. Abuse of power, Human right abuse, Impunity etc. All the cases of Human right abuse are well known military regime. What do you want to call the numerous one presently in civilian regime, cos i won't call this practice in Nigeria democracy but civilian dictatorship.

N/B. We need change, we are tired of failure, excuses, blame game. All we want is action.

for you information, the abuja stadium complex projected that cost 60 billion included all those BMW cars, logistics, the digital TV Control room and those house over 500 houses were furnish to taste of that period. It housed the whole contingent (team members). If you say that one is expensive what will you call Akwa Ibom stadium without any other facilities other than foot ball pitch at 39 billion. Remember Abuja stadium is 60000 capacity. The hosting was part of the Cost at 60 billion, including the money for the men and the boys

The New Akwa-Ibom Stadium: A Worthwhile Venture or Needless Ego Trip?

First off, let me admit that it will be worthy of note that the current Governor of Akwa-Ibom state, Goodwill Akpabio will be leaving his state more beautiful than he met it in 2007. He embarked on numerous utility and beautification projects that will leave many to argue he is not your average governor. True, I know Akwa-Ibom state has earned a lot since Oil broke through the $15 per barrel ceiling over a decade ago, and it will be difficult to place his absolute/actual performance in the face of all the national sleaze going on.

It will be difficult to say how Mr. A managed $1,000 for instance when $500 gets stolen and he is able to invest the remaining $500 compared with Mr. B who had only $300 for starters. So, for all we know, Akpabio's achievements may be an illusion of performance when relativity is taken into account, but no doubt, he has been able to put some of it into good use, and his sins may not be as obvious as those who despite their very low allocations used theirs for building Mosques and carrying out Mass weddings.

As regards the stadium, I notice some singing his praises, while some question the rationale behind such venture. I will pitch tent with the latter, and while I will not deliberate Akpabio's performance as a whole, will offer insight into how we are supposed to reason as a people and call those ruling us into account at every turn.

1..Yes, Nigeria is a sports loving nation, but we do not have the kind of sports industry that can CONSISTENTLY sustain investment in sports. No nation grappling with back breaking poverty can ever have a profitable sports industrial machine. Winning International trophies is different from having a home-grown, self-sustaining sports industry. Ask England, the nation with about the most publicised and most profitable league on the globe, but has not won a world cup since 1966, or any trophy of note in a long while.

2. Even in countries with super-leagues and sports systems, Public built and funded stadia are seen as a waste of funds. Remember the riots in Brazil prior to the last world cup? Brazil is a country far richer than Nigeria, with a higher GDP, higher Per Capita, and much larger economy (larger than the UK, and currently world's number 7). Yet many Brazilians felt it was unwise expending such on stadia, despite the fact that the same facilities will be used in the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016.

3. Have we not learnt from the past? We spent over 60 billion naira building the stadium in Abuja for the COJA Games in 2003. The stadium became overgrown with weeds shortly after. Even today, NOBODY can really fathom what can be done to bring the stadium to profitability. I am not sure the stadium has made a tenth of what it was built with, over a decade later.

So you see, unless there is a miraculous wand Akpabio is going to wave, that stadium is going to be more of a drain than otherwise, unless my Akwa-Ibom brothers tell me they are more than satisfied that the feeling of owning a world class stadium is much better than the opportunity cost that the money would have found use for. As per opportunity cost, while I am a Nigerian in diaspora and cannot start counting how much has been invested in Education, Roads, Health care and the like, I am sure there are many worth-while projects that 39 billion naira could have finished from scratch, within the incumbents tenure.

1. Unless you want to tell me every house-hold in Akwa-Ibom can boast of clean water, 39 billion can construct a full-fledged water treatment plant that can serve millions.

2. The last time I checked, power generation was on the concurrent list, which means state governments can actually build power stations. At the very least, Uyo can be pulled off the national grid and a 500MW station built to serve the state capital. 39 billion naira, or slightly more, can easily achieve this.

3. We complain we do not refine enough Crude for our local consumption. What stops the administration from partnering to build a refinery that will serve not only the local populace, but environs while raking in very large profits?

I have not even mentioned Housing, Rural road network, Agriculture and many other areas. These projects will be self-sustaining, not only because they are sensible, but because they serve the very basis of the populace needs. It is for this same reason, with all its epileptic service, the telecoms industry still remains alive today. It serves a basic need. Electricity is a basic need. Water is a basic need. Fuel is a basic need. Any investment channelled to these areas will be self-maintaining, generate profit (especially with private-partnership), while easing the lives of the average citizen. A stadium? Apart from crusades that will be few and far between, occasional matches and a very high over-head maintenance ( a culture which we are yet to imbibe even in more crucial areas ), that stadium may face the same fate as the National Stadium in Surulere, the Teslim Balogun Stadium just opposite, The Abuja Stadium, and wait for it.......yes, the stadium in Athens, Greece which hosted the 2004 Olympics, currently over-grown with weeds. The argument is also not helped by the allegation that Akpabio is actually planning to name the stadium after himself.

P:S- If it is actually true that a modern stadium, with all the amenities and the like was built with 39 billion naira in 2014, why the hell did they need 60 billion to build Abuja stadium in 2003, over 10 years ago?
60 billion, built a complete games village; over 500 houses with basic amenities like, water, electricity, standard roads etc. The game complex comprise of at least 30 other sports with training centres and the main bowls for viewing. Table tennis court, lawn tennis, hockey, football, cycling, handball, basket ball, indoor basket ball and out door court, volley ball etc. The kind of sport you can think of except from sea, polo and car race you will find there
. You should question the cost of Akwa Ibom if Abuja could build a complete city (town) with standard sporting facilities and road network linking this places. The Abuja Coja sport facilities is massive and gigantic. never compare them.

The major problem of Nigeria toady is Indiscipline and Corruption, we know it is only a man that is discipline and has low corruption tendency that can salvage this country. Thanks for letting us know that this man will not weep emotion and sentiment on issues, let the law takes its course.
We want a leader that would not encourage impunity and corruption but will encourage discipline and fight corruption to the minimal level.
Thanks for letting us know the fact about the guts and strength of this man who will stand by his words and not run or change them times without numbers.
In that man we see integrity, uprightness and due diligent, he is not a saint but he will steer the ship of the country away from this corrupt men and instil discipline and value back to our beloved country. He is right, it is called a freeway since it is a controlled access highway.
Freeway - A controlled-access highway provides an unhindered flow of traffic, with no traffic signals, intersections or property access. They are free of any at-grade crossings with other roads, railways, or pedestrian paths, which are instead carried by overpasses and underpasses across the highway.

This entire write up is designed to exploit the illiteracy of Nigerians. The economy of a nation is improved by investment in infrastructure and government policies designed to create a favourable business environment and then monies injected into the economy to induce growth. All this "we will pay people for 12 months while they look for jobs" is buying votes because if they don't invest in the business environment where is the job that you are supposed to find come from? I dunno who is good for Nigeria or who will fix her but I know that Atiku and Buhari just like most of you here screaming "apc! apc!" lack the faculties necessary to diagnose and fix Nigeria. I will probably be voting Jonathan if I bother to vote at all, he may be so far ineffective but his roadmaps and masterplans are designed by people who have some clue and it shows that there is something running around in his brain after all, more than I can say for most of them.
Did you read through the Post or you have just made your mind to close up to any APC program. From the statement credited to you on bold, please can you explain it in details how you intend to actualise it without resorting to the old PDP language that have not created jobs for Nigerians for the past 15yrs. The Roadmap for job creation is a policy that have been tested and today is a success in 2 or 3 states today. Read through the thread and you will read about states that the APC plan have suceeded.
I can't believe your submission, that you will rather stick to a system that have failed for the past 5 yrs to the one that have recorded success within the past 5 yrs. Definitely something is wrong.
PoliticsRe: Apc’s Roadmap For Job Creation. Action And Words by DVanguard: 11:14am On Oct 15, 2014
@datolee

This is a road map to no where... just the usual rhetoric of Nigerian politicians devoid of strategical planning or implementation.

1. Why should it be the responsibility of FG to employ 20,000 workers equivalent of Lagos State Government, Lastma, lawma, kai, public works, lagbus? Will the APC led FG make it a mandatory that all state irrespective of being a APC controlled state to follow this policy or will these 20,000 workers be employed by the FG directly?

If they are employed by the FG, then what is the job function of the like of FRSC, Civil defence and others? If it is for states to create, why haven't APC mandated all of its states to follow the rule? or must they wait until they are in control of the centre?

The APC led FG cannot mandate all states to implement such policy except states that are APC controlled. It is left for states that are not APC controlled to adopt it. it is for their state and Nigeria benefit at large. Nigerians will gain most not APC as a party.
Creation Jobs vary from state to state. The OP is only trying to use 2 or 3 APC states that have created jobs one way or the other. It does not mean they must follow same strategy. At least, most of our paramilitary and military are understaffed.
Zamfara state might be agriculture and wind power energy or mining while lagos might be on transport cos of transportation is one of its major problem,so are many states in the federation.
They have not waited till they control the centre, they are only informing you of what they will do if the control the centre. Osun state and Lagos state are good example stated by the OP. I guess they aint controlled by PDP.

2.It is very hard to tell if this "road map" is really from the APC because if it is, then, I'm afraid but they are just bunch of noise makers.

First, without a valid national database of all Nigerians, please explain to us how these elderly and vulnerable citizens will be identified? Moreover, what does this mean "upon demonstration of children’s enrollment in school and immunization"?

Secondly, it seems people are just playing with numbers. N5,000 multiplies by 25,000,000 elderly and vulnerable citizens gives you 125 billion Naira per month which is 1.5 trillion Naira per year grin grin huh huh

The Nigeria budget for 2014 is 4.962 trillion Naira, we are talking about spending 30.2% of Nigeria's total budget on phantom "elderly and vulnerable citizens" APC, daris God oh!!

If PDP led Government have problem with providing Nigerians with a better National database does not mean another party can not do that. Osun and Ekiti state is a living witness of a well updated database of all its workers. These are part of the anger of the civil servant against him for reducing ghost worker to a level in the state. These free up lot of fund for the state and job opportunity of about 18,000 (within the civil service) that was filled from the OYES cadet program.
Yes, it is a huge fund but that fund is a chain that creates a web of big economy.
First, can we generate such fund? Yes.
How can we generate such fund? we can, from check mating leakage of funds from non-remitted tax deduction of most FG/states agency, all Crude proceeds be paid to the Federation account before any deduction, all revenue from NPA,FIRS,NIMASA, Customs,FAAN, NCC, NERC etc to the federation account, and lastly ensure that all crude explored are properly metered and documented.
Back to the issue, any government that is going to enact such policy knows the implication, there will be sudden rise in the number of students to primary/secondary school and Hospitals. More schools and hospitals will be built and jobs created to feel the gap.
Mapet have dealt with the part of gathering data so there is no use dwelling on that.

10. How do you magically increase the number of small and medium-sized enterprises? by given them more money or what policies? for a start in a country where bank lending rate starts from 12% per annum, how will small and medium-sized enterprises grow?

It is possible, Let me use the Osun state O'meal policy to explain.
Osun state government intends to feed 254,000 student daily. The feeding of this children involves different kinds of meal from yam, beans, rice, chicken, noodles, egg, meat etc. How do the state source for these food. Is it direct from the market or how?
The state government involved big farms that are into chicken production to produce chicks that are giving to any interested person to rear for a minimum of 8 weeks and come back to buy. Minimum of 2000 chicks are giving to the individual to rear, the chicks are insured. After 8 weeks the govt comes to buy these chickens from that person at a sum of N450/kg. These program increases the production of chicken and eggs in the state. Remember there is a ready market to buy these product from them.
These method is also employed in the production and marketing of yam, cocoa-yam, cat fish and other types of fishes.
The vendors that sells the food to the school are arranged 4 vendors to each school, and they buy their foods products from the regulated market created by the state government. For effective service a total number of 3,007 food vendors/cooks were trained and are currently employed to serve midday meals for pupils of classes 1, 2 , 3 and 4 in all primary schools in the Osun state. For easy identification, each of the food vendors was provided with uniforms free of charge.
The uniforms provided include gowns, aprons, and caps. The government of the Osun also facilitated provision of cooking utensils for each of the caterers at minimal cost. First Bank PLC granted a loan of ₦124.5 million to 123 cooperative groups of food vendors for purchasing cooking utensils. The government of the Osun also agreed to pay the interest accrued on the loan facility and food vendors are to repay the loan within 36 months (3 years).
To answer your question, this is another way to help the citizens out of the high bank interest rate on SMEs.Thanks for showing us some of the lapses of PDP led government regarding the high interest rate for the past 15 years. We all APC does not control the monetary policy.

@mapet,

It is a wonderful submission you made on the Road and Transport Infrastructure.
I think the APC need to maximise the transport ministry in Nigeria. Transportation is a very big business that can create a very big revenue. In Nigeria, there are lots of revenue that goes into peoples pocket from the transport sector. Take for instance, Road transporter they hardly pay tax and they collect revenue daily while little is return or paid into the government purse.
Therefore , the government needs to invest it time and resources into these venture and not leave it in the hands of thugs. We can start with interstate parks, let the government take over most motor parks and restructure them. let these parks be organised like an airport.
The government will encourage the transport union by standing as collateral for loans from bank to purchase better transit vehicles.
AIR Transport is a big challenge which needs serious regulation and control.
The government should introduce a country carrier but should be public corporation driven. It should be listed in NSE, the government should ensure that nobody buys more than a certain percentage of the shares of the airline so not to claim ownership. Imagine, the fund such airline will amass and invest into the air transportation system.
The APC led government should also work on profiteering in the air transport system. Which i think is one of the reason for high airfare.
I believe it is better to fly 10,000 people everyday across Nigeria and make little profit than fly just 2000 people and make stupendous profit.

There is this big challenge on most Nigerian Youth that solving the problem of unemployment is impossible. I was discussing with a colleague of mine in the office with regards to Ondo state Gubernatorial election. The ACN Gubernatorial candidate proposed creating 30,000 jobs in his first 100 days and paying them 20.000 naira each. He said, it is impossible. lamenting, where would the state raise such a fund.
I was very surprise, explaining to him if Osun state can do it why can't Ondo state do it. It is just 600 million salary per month, which is just a fraction from the security vote of the governor or the state in a month. The feedback effect of that fund will be big compared to some few element in the government circle.
I think the campaign needs to improve on enlightenment of the youths in the country. These challenges can be solved once we put the right people at the right place.
The job creation policy of APC is a very good policy for now and i believe if they continue at this threshold and control the federal, Unemployment rate will reduce drastically.
@OP, I think the APC need to intensify their effort by enlightening people and using APC states where their policy have succeeded to inform Nigerians. lots of Nigerians are ignorant of this success story.

Thank you Obiagelli!!! Our first objective should be to stop corruption, reduce government spendings and block every loopholes. When this is achieved, there will be more than enough for the masses. At present the budget stands at 75%:25% in favor of recurrent expenditure, no country can grow with such arrangement. The budget need to be 65%:35% in favor of capital expenditure at least. We have enough in the country, we need to create jobs by investing in Sports, Tourism, Agriculture, Expand the Oil Sector, strengthen the Civil Service and the Security Agencies, revamp the education sector, entertainment industry, The rail must work, electricity be fixed, good road network and make business viable among others. The aforementioned alone will solve 65% of the unemployment problems.
The APC should try and stay off investing directly into this area but can create a roadmap for its development. The Aspect i agree on investing into sport is for all schools (primary and secondary) should have very good sport facilities, sport tutors, physical education instructors etc but stay off to an extent, the various sport federations most especially football.
Tourism is a very good revenue for a state directly or indirectly, i feel the government need to invest more into provision of infrastructural development like electricity, water, roads, security etc and rule of law. If these things are put in place, it will open up the country tourism market from within Nigeria cos of our population. When you have peace and rest of mind wont you want to travel and relax.
Agriculture, is excellent and let our policy works toward using our population to our advantage. Lets forget feeding the outside world, but concentrate in creating the available market within Nigeria. Imagine in Osun state they consume 300k egg weekly on feeding the 254k children every week. Imagine feeding every primary school student in Nigeria. That is weekly consumption of like 10m eggs weekly different from other consumption. I feel the government should concentrate on creating a big market.
The Government should reduce investment but increase their strength in providing capacity, enabling environment etc.

That is the issue we keep facing. How will you pass comprehension in school. I now understand why we have lot of mass failure in English Language. We are talking about working policy that can solve lot of Nigeria's unemployment problem, but all you can do is insult Buhari (who does not know if you exist, who will die and be celebrated as a hero by the same government you support blindly).

Obiagelli:
When it comes to choice of candidates, Apc never disappoints, check their governors.
Fact but the party needs to streamline some of their policies so that people can really see like 4 or 5 common policies adopted by their states effectively. Like tuition fees, job creation, free health service, senior welfare and the meal for children policy.

The 20000 volunteer job created in Osun was a master piece and a very good perspective in solving the unemployment problem to a high level. If 36 states including FCT employs 20000 volunteers with a average stipends of minimum of 10k,note not all states are buoyant, this will create a average of 740,000 jobs directly. The training and orientation of this employed people will create another job directly and indirectly. The Tutors, their uniforms, their shoes etc will be ensured they are provided locally no matter how low quality they are. (The main issue is to encourage local production).
It should also be checked so that we would not create another moribund bureaucracy like the civil service. We should ensure they are incorporated into result oriented programs like the O'meal, O'agric, O'Transport (LASTMA) etc.
Osun state government and Lagos state have shown that we can create lots of jobs that will be another source of revenue for the state and enable the state implement the fund accrued back to the development of the state.

E.X.P.O.S.E.D. Brain Behind Lies Against Nigerians Revealed!

NOTE: The NSA Sambo Dasuki has claimed responsibility for the Arms deal and said they are legitimate.
The South African Authorities also released the jet in question to the leasing company in 24 hours
.
For your information SA is not questioning the authenticity of the arms deal but query the abuse and violation of the Money Laundry Act which Nigeria Government is aware of. The Said jet did not violate any law and is free to fly anywhere. it is only the money that is been queried cos Arms deals are being done mostly through Government banks (Central bank of Nigeria and Central bank of SA).
You don't break the law you make just because you need something urgently. It is possible in an environment like Nigeria but most countries outside Nigeria it is a big offence.

Point of correction

Some of the most reputable research institutions started small. As they succeeded, they expanded and advanced further using investors money.

Real and computer simulated videos are cheaper that is why Advance Nations use them to train their citizens

Do you know that a heat seeking missile cost $80 000 that is why only US soldiers that have high scores using simulated videos are allowed to train with the real missile

I don't know what you studied in the University but am sure you never studied any course related to engineering-technology
I agree with you that they need to start small before the get big. But you did not know that starting a research institute as lots of things that you need to put into consideration in terms materials and equipment's along side with funds that sometimes might come up with uncompleted research or failed projects.
You talked about heat seeking missile, it might cost $80000 but how much do the facility that produce that missile cost. Do you have the technological know how. Do you have the necessary materials to put things in place. If you are an Engineer then that is part of what we are talking about, half baked graduates. These facilities require lots of research and fund, with commitment. For now Nigeria is not close and i dont think we can be close.
To mass produce, is what am talking about, you don't have a steel company, your power supply is terrible, what infrastructure do you have that is working. Now to create that yourself as a state, can you understand the cost involved, planning etc.

BlackTechnology: Research and medical services are two different things.
Why research focuses on finding new things, medical services focuses on addressing medical challenge using existing knowledge.
And if Fashola seeks to make the hospital research oriented, all he needs to do is to invite investors to invest in a research project with the agreement of sharing the gains of success.

How do you think Indians handle their Maintenance cost
Guy, hospital charges paid by people will be used to pay for it.
He can even create a scheme whereby people can have a special account with Insurance companies connected to the hospital so that if they have any medical challenge these insurance companies can foot their bills

I repeat

For non pure , applied and medical sciences, real and computer simulated videos can reduced the use of real lab/workshop learning materials thereby reducing cost of education. This can also help to perfect their skills before they are allowed to make use of real life learning materials.

Note

US use simulated video to train their troops before they handle real weapons.

Germany use simulated videos to train their pilots before they handle real planes

This help them to save training cost and equipping cost

You are computer literate

Ponder on what I just said below

Remember

There are many paths to success. It is your duty to find out these paths, their certainty and cost before picking a path
This is the most gullible suggestion have ever come across, seeking for investor for research purpose. Why will i invest into your research institute if you are not known for something in that field. Do you think investors just invest for investing sake.
Let us assume the investors agree to invests, how much do you thing it takes to set up a research institute of reputable standard that will draw up investors.

Hospital Charges should be used to run hospitals (are u serious). Do the know the staff strength of any government hospital in Nigeria. The charges or money generated is not enough to pay even the junior workers not to talk of senior staffs and overhead of the hospitals. If Nigeria hospitals are giving full autonomy i don't think most people will get health services. The Health sector in Nigeria is heavily subsidies even in the face of corruption. You talked about creating a special account like insurance, who pays the insurance people for every service rendered to the people or patient. Do you think the money will fall from heaven.

You are very funny, Germans trains their military with simulated video and equipment. Do you know how much it cost to set up such facility. Do you think when it comes to military intelligence you make it known to your future enemy or friend country.

It seems you don't understand the cost of all this facilities and programs. it cost Germans and Americans millions of dollars over the years on research before they are achieve. Wake up from the dream land gee.

Hmmmm, the comments on this thread tells a lot about the level of our intelligence. The level of ignorance in our land is too much and alarming. Lets keep on with our ignorance and lets see where it will let us to. The budget of California on fire service is almost as large as Nigeria yearly budget. Yes, there is lot of corruption in the land but that should never stop us from being objective. Which state in Nigeria don't seek for loan (including the federal govt), and it is a foolish business man that will invest in a capital project with liquid cash against available loan. I now understand why lots of Nigerians are very poor. Most capital projects are financed by loan any where in the world. During the meltdown economic crisis, Almighty America borrowed from China to facilitate there capital projects to revive their economy. I pity for my country with the high bunch of illiterates we breed. Basic Economics. Tufiakpa.

phayvoursky: wetn this one de talk?

you know where asaba de?
Have you been to Ibadan before. Look Asaba competes with a LG in Ibadan.
I laugh with people arguing about beautiful state capitals. Abuja is still the only planned and organised city in Nigeria for now.
Apart from AMAC (F.C.T, only LG developed and beautiful in Abuja), Ikeja (Lagos), Ibadan North LG (Oyo state ). PH (Rivers), Kaduna (Kaduna), Kano Municipal (Kano). etc. When we mention Ibadan as capital of Oyo state. the Administration point you talk of Ibadan North LG, which is as big as so many state capitals in Nigeria. (Awolowo RD, UCH, BODJIA, TOTAL GARDEN, etc).
Pls lets differentiate state capitals that are 1 or 2 LG combined.
PoliticsRe: Gov. Nyako Impeached By Adamawa Assembly by DVanguard: 3:59pm On Jul 15, 2014
Impeachment of Nyako is good and bad. The corruption charges against him can be disputed cos nobody is confirm guilty of corruption except the court of the land. Feelers from Adamawa state says he performed woefully as a governor and they are happy that he is impeached. Good radiance to bad rubbish. Bye Bye Mr. Nyako.
The Impeachment is a double edge sword that raises so many question. Nyako is a product of PDP (impeached as a APC governor of less than 1 yr membership) that have governed the state for 15yrs. Will the impeachment change the complain of the people? i doubt that, status quo remain. What it tells us is all about power struggle not the people.
it is a welcome development which i would like to transfer to other state but i want it in good faith.
Conclusion, power is a very sweet and a powerful instrument. It is good when using it and bad when used against you. I remember when Nyako used the machinery of power against his opponents then to support somebody, today that same instrument of power is used against him. That is good but those using power should be careful cos power is never permanent. (OBJ on ma mind)
