Education / Study Medicine Abroad Easily by Dvd4: 1:57am On Jun 10, 2023
Hello.

Please treat with urgency.

Where can one easily gain admission to study Medicine abroad with a very cheap tuition and less hassle immigration? Even if it's an African country.

Please reply ASAP!!!

What about UNIZIK

Her O level is good, yet not perfect for an outstanding match.

She is using 2 O'levels thus loosing 10 marks from the total screening score.

If she can risk it, I'd say she can go ahead, if she doesn't get it, she might be moved to a similar course in same faculty or another faculty with same SUB. COMBO.

If she misses out, she could shop during supplementary. Last year, UNIZIK did supplementary twice.

About post utme hopefully I pray she does well, she’s really very good at chemistry, so yeah hopefully she will really pass bio chemistry in post utme
It's not about being good in a subject oh.

My sister wey dey good in Biology got 46 there, while Physics graced her with 70.

Also, it's not only Chem that she might encounter in the exams.

Just take away that part of her being good in Chemistry.

Actually she’s part of those writing waec this year, she’s from imo state and she doesn’t want to school here either

Uniport gives more priority to POST UTME.

But trust me, the Post UTME is not so easy. She needs extra study, else she could even score 100 even with intense study.

The sweetest part of Uniport's Post UTME is that you see your score once you submit.

She could actually get Biochem with that score if her POST UTME is impressive. Even if she doesn't get the Biochemistry, she could apply for supplementary.

Meanwhile, FUTO is not a bad idea after all. She should calm down about FREEDOM---e dey choke.

Well, I think she is still young. Let her change to Biochemistry and use the FREEDOM PRESSURE to study painstakingly for the POST UTME, she will get it.

As per sorting the admission. I know someone, but it's not advisable. Let her thrive for excellence she will get in effortlessly.

My opinion though.

Please a few questions on KWASU.

(1) What is the chance of a non indigine from Edo state getting admission in KWASU?.

(2) I have three people that got 218(Law), 182 (Accounting) and 172(Medicine and Surgery). Federal university is out of it. What will be your advise if they want to switch to KWASU?. They are all from Edo state.

(3) What is their fees like?.

If you are a non-indegine, you must beat merit. I used to know peeps who were non-indegines but gained admission same year I was seeking admission. They got Med. LAB and Computer Science respectively

I don't know about now. I think then, they wrote PUTME.

As per your folks; they actually applied the most competitive courses in KWASU. Chances are low. Change of course is advisable.

Their fees are quite high (not so much though), but not unexpectant for a State University. Check Google for a comprehensive fee structure.

Hi everyone, I have one of my friends that also wrote 2023 Jamb and he had 298 but he applied to kwara State Univeristy, Medsurg. I discouraged him to applied to a standard and accredited medical school but he won't listen to me. And he was arguing that he is sure of graduating within 6 years and that the school won't have accreditation issues like other schools.

Please what advice can you offer regarding his issue?

KWASU is one of the fastest, if not the fastest school I can say in Nigeria. It's academic calendar is fast and can compete with it's private counterpart. That might be the basis for his argument.

Meanwhile,. I never knew they have started MEDICINE. MED. LAB. is what I have known over there.

Meanwhile, if the school is yet to gain full accreditation, it might bear risk, though not a wrong decision as long as he can endure.

If you ask me, I'll say; let him. The most important thing here is to gain admission. Then every other thing gets sorted later. I am sure you don't want him gambling with that his score. What if he regrets later? Please can you allow him bear the consequences of his actions?

My Opinion though.

You must be joking right now.
How can a fellow get Biochemistry admission with 184 undecided in Uniport which me and u know is very competitive

The fact that it's a federal university which will definitely reserve space for different applicants all over or from almost all the states in the nation should shrink u form thinking as this.

Also remember jambites with well above 270+, 280+, and 260+ who couldn't get into thier first choice on merit into the so called big courses like Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and the likes will still have to change their course to the less competitive courses (Biochemistry includes) and drag the available slots with them making it extremely competitive.

You may be admitted though but based on an extremely high performance in the post utme say 85/100, and also the influence of catchment and Elds.

Your best bet will be to choose a state university preferably your own state and which also aligns with your pocket size

All the best

It is possible Baba.

Other factors inclusive.

Hi good morning my fellow nairalanders, actually my friend got 184 in jamb to study nursing in uniport, I told her the possibility is low though, let her change to biochemistry since she’s good in chemistry, but the problem is how sure will she get admission with her jamb score to study biochemistry in uniport, she’s also reasoning doing change of course/institution to Enugu state university to study biochemistry or nursing, what do you guys think we both are confused here, and she don’t want to write jamb next year

Before I answer.

Where is she from?
What's her O level like?
Is she certain of doing better in PUTME or it's gonna be another trial?

Answer all these and revert back to me.

When it comes to the issue of making a career choice, I am always of the opinion that the individual making the choice should know what he/she wants. People's opinions have little or no impact in becoming who you want to be. The question you should ask yourself is that: Where does my passion lies? What do I love to do?

Most times it's not about people's opinion being one's decision. It's all about gathering information alien to one. From informations gathered, the seeker will sit down digest them and then come to a conclusion

299 is high. Do not think there are that many 300s in this year's JAMB. If you are from a state in SW and the university does PUTME, a good score can give you a chance with catchment.

Anyway, i have always had a bias for Pharmacy especially for females if you are a female.
bias?

Please I scored 271 in jamb

I am thinking of either Uniport or Uniuyo, medicine and surgery is my intended course of study..

My O level is just C's and 2b's

I am from catchment area...

Do Uniport and Uniuyo use O level for screening, please bosses what are my chances in both schools?

I won't advice Uniuyo.

UNIPORT is a better option. Prepare for the POST UTME.

Pls, I have a nephew who just finished the just concluded jamb exams, he scored 238(he chose unn and I'm sure no amount of luck in putme without money or connection will grant him admission) pls, which less competitive University do u advise me to tell him to change to when change of institution/course begins.
He said some of his friends who wrote while awaiting last year where admitted to uniport with a score of 220. What are ur thoughts?

Honestly, let me be candid.

That score is low for Medicine, with the level of high scorers we see in JAMB these days.

227 can not be the ADMISSION DEPARTMENTAL CUTOFF. It might be the cutoff for one to be qualified for the PUTME.

Yes, he might be right about UNIPORT.

UNIPORT prioritizes PUTME more. How ever scoring so high in the PUTME is not so easy. In UNIPORT you find scores like;

JAMB 338
PUTME 250

JAMB 370
PUTME 275

etc.
I have actually seen
312
204
Talking from experience though.

If he can score high up to 300 or more in PUTME, I'd think UNIPORT would suffice. Meanwhile, scoring high isn't so easy, take note. He could try Dentistry ij UNIPORT aswell.

Even some private Universities might push him to another Medical course.

Instead of gambling, why dont he switch course to a less competitive one, unless maybe he is young and can take the risk.

If you have got the money;
PAMO
BAYELSA MED. UNI
DAVID UMAHI UNI
EKO MED. SCHOOL etc

Some other new Universities could give him a good chance also

FED UNI. LOKOJA and the rest of them.

I wish him success in whatever decision he takes.

Lol 206+ (around this range, can't remember his actual scores) got Dentistry back in 2019 in a core northern university. I think the guy did their pre degree program though.

Someone got Pharmacy in UDUSok with 223 Jamb score on merit list.
Another got MBBS with 249 merit list UDUsok. For this 2022/2023 admission session.

He went ahead to tell me that he knows many people who got Medicine with the ranges of 243, 261, 270, etc.

Universities in the North seem to be easier to gain admission, especially those of the North East and North West.

I just stumbled on a guy who got admission into Medicine with 212 JAMB SCORE

Are you now considering this school?

I think all info you need about tuition is online.

Though I think the fees are close in equivalence to the ones of some private universities.

If you could consider EKO, may I also suggest UNIMED?

Well for Medicine in these schools, I think 280+ is enough to keep you aloof.

Well, lemme allow others opine.

Good luck in your endeavours.
