I usually don't believe in conspiracy theory, but I am gradually believing the theory that northern political elites intentionally keep majority of northerners poor and uneducated just for their political gains.

A doctor should perform his/duty likewise the nurse. If a nurse thinks he/she is equal to a doctor, the person must be kidding. And the person needs psychiatric check-up.

In Health we don't command each other we work as a team. I have never being supervise by a physician since I started Nursing. I have gain intense knowledge from physician and consultants and I have also add to their body of knowledge as well. Abi how many nurse have you supervised?

Their are many types of nurses, am sure you know that? In Nigeria there quacks you train in your private hospital and Registered Nurse. So next time, type Registered Nurse when you want to check who is a Nurse.

Now back to construction analogy....... No Engineer is superior than the other. Structural engineer or Site engineer are just branches of Civil engineering depending on your specialty just like a General Surgeon is not superior to a Urologist.

Am not even sure which profession I can say you belong to sef, you are not inform in Engineering and you lack basic understanding of health issues. So, who you be?

In the health care system, we work as a team. There is absolutely NO most important person. No one, I repeat no one can work alone. You comment out of pure ignorance because you do not know how the system works. It's not a servant-master relationship but a team work. The reference to laborer-engineer role does not suffice here. Even the head of the hospital which has being monopolise by physician is only practise in Africa. The overhead of the hospital in many advanced country is a CEO which can be a physician, a nurse, pharmacist e.t c. Even a Nurse has once hold sway as the acting surgeon general of the United State.

N.B a laborer is an unskilled labour. I do not want to lecture you in your field.

So tell me, as an engineer, who is more important and who commands who? A site engineer, a structural engineer or a geotechnical engineer e.t.c.

A nurse cannot function on its own in any medical institution..he gets instructions from the doctor. If the doctor ask you to assist, will you say no, you won't?

A lot of you people actually have to adjust if you have a chance to work outside Nigeria.. Nigeria actually is a messed up system.

For example in a construction site. A labourer and an engineer have equal opportunity to safeguard the site. If an engineer instructs the labourer to clear the debris. What do you think will happen if the labourer refuses.

The hierarchy in the medical field demands certain things from the nurse in which Nigerian nurses will decided to fight tooth and nail for.. I won't blame you at all ... I just blame the Nigeria system that have actually bastardized anything working.

Everyone in the hospital is responsible to making the environment safe but this duty varies. So look at your photo.....you see that that clinical staff, it comprises of pharm., Lab. Sci.,physician(Doctor), radiologist e.t.c. As a Periop. Nurse I damp dust my unit, discard my sharps and waste and I make the environment safe but you won't see me with broom and packer, so cleaning duty vary.

The fact that you eat in public and throw your nylon in the gutters and you go scot free doesn't mean you are right. As a responsible human, you are suppose to trash them in a waste can.

Managing sharps and other wastes in the hospital is much more important because of the potential risk they can bring. So Mr Man/Dr, it is not a matter of Ego, all of us as a team managing the patient must ensure we keep them safe including our each other.

The church is not for the pastor, whether he's called or not. And who told you there's no significant growth. Cos there's no numerical growth doesn't mean there's no spiritual, financial and other growth. The church is serving it's purpose. if you observe closely, you'll understand it's purpose

I just read a thread of a brother being sceptical about attending a church in the hotel. Here are the reasons I think might inspire this

1. Jesus would have done the same i.e. spreading the good news around

2. ease of worship. not everyone in the hotel are there for immoralities. Some for businesses, events and ceremonies.

3. Majority of churches in Asia and middle east are in the hotels and whatever space they can Garner. Because of restrictions from the countries to build churches, they end up paying heavily for hall in the hotel.

Wherever you see a church today, be grateful and worship God in spirit and in truth

Madam, you can just mention as many bodies of nurses we have in Nigeria. It still doesn't change the fact that there will always be a Doctor administering to the patient and giving clear instructions to the nurse on how to administer.

I still repeat it , it is in this Nigeria that we see high level of insubordination in workplace.

In other climate, you have to listen to d doctor, if you think he/she is not doing the right thing, report to the HR or superior. Finish

doctors are helping nurses perform their duty in Nigeria only because they care for their patients and because the administrative system rots. If you report a nurse, they'll come back and gang up against you. So to be at peace, they resort to doing it themselves.

All I'm saying is as far as a Doctor gives a clear instruction to the nurse(under nurse's capacity), the nurse can as well escalate to relevant attendants or refer back asap.

What we have in Nigeria are the Registered Nurses, and they have higher ranks than all these other types if Nurses.However, A Registered Nurse can perform bedbath for a patient. Bedbath is a form of cleaning service. A registered Nurse can also clean and autoclave used instruments, and sometimes she can assign that duty to attendants. This is also another form of cleaning service. But a Registered Nurse is not obliged to clean after a doctor makes a mess of his working space. The doctor will clear the area of biohazard waste and the attendant will do the remaining cleaning. That's the standard

A doctor is performing a procedure alongside a nurse. The doctor is done with the procedure, he/she cleared and discard as appropriately as possible. So tell me what would now be the job of the nurse and attendants?

No be only you dey work outside Nigeria. Where I work, Doctors dispose the clinical waste they generate properly. Even consultants.

If this is true, then I fear the things politicians do in secrecy more than what they do with our public funds..or I fear them and their deeds.

I think the nurses in Nigeria need refreshers training. And after the training, it should be signed and kept in their file in case they choose to claim they weren't told. Now I get why doctors in Nigeria are running to other countries that's actually working due to workload in Nigeria...

What then is the sole responsibility of the nurse? From all my experiences in the hospital (not in Nigeria), the doctor administers and the nurse takes over .

I did a boil surgery. The doctor started it, did the stitch . Then the nurse completed d dressing and clearing of the place. This is the standard procedure. I don't know where Nigerian nurses get their standard practice from.
