Very well put, time value of their decision affects alot.

This NLNG offer is about breaking a ceiling, no one will offer you 200M a year soon after this so the question is totally irrelevant.
NanaF:
So if you finally enter NLNG and months later, a mind-blowing offer is pending from another company, will you have this same attitude?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 5:04pm On Nov 03, 2015
My brother my friend, it's a coping mechanism. We all don tire.

Abeg all this talk of March should be deleted from our memories. Nobody should give me heart attack. #TeamJanuary
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 8:09am On Nov 02, 2015
This here is my real fear. They could want resumption next March, and nothing stops the notifications to come in late January.
Please NLNG, you've done it before; if you'll be contacting us next year, send a message quick telling us to be expectant in first quarter. Do not be mean, lives are on hold.
ceetee:
Looking through @ethene previous posts he’s clearly not a hopeful. So let’s not dwell too much on that.
I think there’s a major assumption we are making by thinking that resumption is in January. I recalled during my CBI my assessor said within the first quarter of next year don’t know if others were told anything contrary.
Regardless, Father let your will be done.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 9:52pm On Oct 25, 2015
There are always plenty sides to a story, and it'll be great for the company if they hire people who are capable of seeing the whole picture at first try. It'll be good if a few more see the full picture once guided a bit, but it will be pitiful if most of the hired ones stick to a single story albeit a privileged one; very pitiful.

The applicants with no employment have the ill luck of probably solely banking on this recruitment exercise, especially those who resigned jobs to go on masters, high risk venture there.

The applicants in paid employment have to deal with the drudgery of probably waking up to an unhappy place of work daily.

Both scenarios surely not ideal and doesn't take away from the pains of both. I have been in both scenarios and truly know it's better being in paid employment whilst waiting.

Please, if you can, kindly develop the ability to see from another point of view. It will be beneficial ultimately.

dimdice:
my point exactly....guys without a job can only hope for the best till the result comes out.....guys with a job however have the dilemma of focusing at work to better themselves there (which of course they r not enjoying, if not they wouldn't be anxious for this) and looking for alternative jobs (y look when NLNG could call soon).
I think I'm totally confused reading myself too

Hey free advice, stay away from Alcohol and cigarette. If you've smoked hemp in the past month or taken coke, just write to the recruitment team to take you out of contention.

He knew he was on waiting list since April thereabouts. Do not show your pessimism abeg.
Congratulations forkadict, you're a REAL guy, I'll search you out at work soon.

Please, stop spreading pessimism Abeg.

vantage7:
Ehen, my turn now for the felicitations. Congrats bro! So now you're gonna be doing all those analyses of train 7 and what not for real! Don't worry, we're right behind you.

Okay guys, this dude waited a whole year before he was contacted. Granted, that is far more likely to normally happen in the case of experienced hires than gts, and I'm not saying either case is fair or not or anything (cause I dunno what's going on in there) but imagine constantly checking your mail for a year in anticipation. Let's try and borrow a leaf even if it's a tiny one (of course no one would reasonably expect ours to be close to that long). Of course it's a tad easy for me to say because I'm employed but you're very wrong if you think the anticipation isn't killing me too.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 5:11pm On Oct 15, 2015
Say availability is immediate and very interested to join the team. Don't let the reply waste time at all.

For the experienced guys on waiting list, I believe your call is dependent on the graduates' in the sense that you'll be taking up roles of those who'll be the mentors; people have to pass on the NLNG culture to us and cannot truly expect them to take too much responsibility without affecting required quality. So congrats to you.
gj:
I've been on NLNG waiting list for sometime now. But recently received a mail from them asking me to indicate availability and interest.
did anyone received or known anyone that has ever received same mail. what is it signifying?

I feel NLNG management are just being "childish". Because person say no notification after Wednesday, they now will send it tomorrow. Anyway sha, it's been real and emotional. Peace out.

Dear Nigerians, please let's try to find the root cause of issues and not barely look at symptoms. The victim of exposure here tried to paint a "saintly, I cover my tracks persona" but was quickly outed. Albeit the display of evidence is much, but all the same you should expect such if you display hypocritical behavior.

I started this with dear Nigerians because obviously not all of us will be successful, so my future colleagues please exhibit informed behaviors.

Working back from the fact its January resumption and the one month notification period to employers. Latest notification window is first week in November. Good news, we have less than a month to notification.
On the idea of less than 90 people, possible yeah. That's best in each department, then best 2 from each state. Whatever it is, I don enter.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 7:06pm On Sep 29, 2015
Good day Nigeria LNG management team,
I am a candidate in the ongoing graduate recruitment and candidly my words herein surely reverberates the intentions of most of the candidates. I do accept the market is unfavorable with the low gas prices and the policy direction of the nation is uncertain with no economic team in place and the FID for train 7 unsigned. These and few more obstacles unknown to me affect the recruitment process.
I have grown to truly love the company Nigeria LNG limited, with all the strides made and obstacles overcome in its history; and the premium value the company places on its people and stakeholders. I personally burnt all bridges to push myself to be the best candidate if you needed to select just one and I believe my name rests at the top. Having had my interview in June, my heart skips beats once mails drop and this isn't healthy for me.
On behalf of all the candidates, kindly get back to us with the results of the interviews to enable us get our heads in the zone quick; given that many of us have truly put backup options on the back-burner. We will appreciate a notification of the outcomes today even if resumption is hypothetically 3rd quarter next year.
Thank you for the opportunity to join up with the premier team of professionals in Nigeria. Together we will build strategies to make Nigeria top 5 producers of gas in the world.

Kind Regards
Graduate Applicants

PS: We are all available for immediate starts.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward:
This thinking is what I had been subtly referring to. I am appreciative there are voices drowning such out. Whatever your story is, kindly do not look down on others because you know not theirs. And in your being grateful and appreciative of yours, do not stagnate but rather strive to be even better.

I sincerely thought the time taken for this recruitment would have shown most of us real life but some are still cocooned. It's apparently good because you need all sorts of characters in teams to ensure success.

Like play like joke, neither ministerial list nor successful list is out. Uncle Babs, Oga Inuwa; Abeg give directive now. I want to make money for your company.
incredu:
Just to clarify. Between 2013 and now, I have been employed - Twice actually. And I mean gainfully employed, bought a nice car, wore suit daily, lived in my own apartment, and whatever other thing employed dudes do. So there's a lot of experience.

At the moment, I am not employed. This situation is not even a year old. I still try to get busy with other non-work things.

Depending on what ur mindset is, the situation is better or worse than you think. Whatever! When is this list coming out?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 8:30pm On Sep 24, 2015
I was going to stay off of here cos some people truly cannot see past themselves, but had to drop this. Plus some more discerning individuals are speaking up.

If you see a young woman in the attached picture, it's OK. If you see an old woman, it equally is. If you see both or none, you're very fine. Just understand and accept the image can be seen from multiple angles.

If you ultimately get this job, I plead again; do not be like the arrogant ones who do not see past their bubbles. Kindly accept there are so many others out there.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 9:53pm On Sep 22, 2015
Succinctly explained. Let me know quick whether to come back to naija and lounge for 3 months before resuming or hustle and process Australian work permit and never set foot in Africa again. Abeg decisions need to be made.
vantage7:
Exactly, and because we got periodic updates on the status of the exercise. Chronicles:

>Success mail was in July and we were told to be on standby for the next stage.
>In December we got word that the next stage would be held late Q1 2015. And we later found out that the huge gap (July-December) was "due to ebola".
>Then early March this year we were told that Q1 2015 was no longer feasible due to rescheduled elections.
>In May, we were finally given dates for the AC.
>Then we were sent reminders early June.
Now this is September. If resumption is going to be Q1 2016, late September/early October wouldn't be a bad time for feedback mails to drop accompanied by a time frame for medicals.

But primarily, I think it is difficult now more than ever because of the added anxiety of thinking you could get cut at the final stage, just when you were about to make it through.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 5:16pm On Sep 22, 2015
I feel this to be true. I'll just like to know my fate very soon.
artmedia:
Bro, kindly remove your mind from resuming this year. Trust me that isnt happening at all. Several NLNG staff, said it on the interview day that resumption is Q1 next year. Inside 'SAUCES' have also maintained same. Also the staff on the AC day said 3months from when AC finishes. It finished about 1st week in August, so expect feedback from sometime middle of October. Lets just be calm and start being really expectant from say Oct 15th for the medical invites.

Shalom!

My people, I want to resume this year. If our employers want to give the 1 month notice period, then we need to have offer letters by next Tuesday. It's really unusual to have December resumption. NLNG na beg I dey beg, do your boy well.

These days, the waiting have seriously awoken the fear in me..
I alwys ask myself every now and then what would happen if per-chance my name is not on the list.??
Yeaa.. I would cry.. Yeaa.. I would cry well well.
But after the crying, can I really move on with my life like nothing happened.? Especially now that I have fallen so much in love with the company....
The fear is just too much..
I dream of NLNG everyday and everywhere, even during short naps at daytime..
I can't imagine not fulfilling this dream.
The thought of it alone is so scary.

Shell took more than 100 into their training school before 2007, got many into the industry but the lazy others poached their best so they reduced it to under 30[ the kinda figures you're used to], this recruitment is into so many arms and hence the large numbers that'll be recruited. Engineers will be more, yeah but the numbers will be high. Just pray to be among the finally selected.

Guys I bin notice one small thing with people wey scale fence enter jobs like Shell Chevron et al; dem dey do like say people wey no fit do same no reach. Totally oblivious of the situation of the generality of the populace. We will be many who will get in, please let us have empathy. Do not act like others are "alapa manise". Let's us really make a difference. I believe getting this job is not just to drive the best cars and go on posh holidays to Zambezi. We can really be a difference to the company, our loved ones and Nigeria especially. All the best guys, I know our wait is almost over. By his grace, there'll be certainty by the end of the month.

I like your play on words. Hehehe
