He should not go and bring the Exxon recruitment style of putting people on 2 years waiting list then bouncing them. He should just stick to bringing sanity to NNPC.
vantage7:
With the appointment of a new NNPC GMD by the President, there will be a substitution in the NLNG board.

Sure Y'all are smart enough to know your performances have been determined latest the Wednesday following your AC. Those who surpass the criteria been identified and those who meet them still in the pool. For a company that needed us to resume 8 months ago before the Ebola epidermic, you think resumption is next year.
Infer from the 3 weeks post-exercise completion time it took the team to notify of performance prior Ebola; and expect notification of performance end of August. Resumption might be staggered, and should commence from October. All these barring a major disturbance the size of Ebola.

Let me better put it this way, higher percentage of the best brains will not have to work with consulting firms and banks because of nepotism in this particular exercise thankfully; but some might still slip through the cracks.
Most have put in their best and we all just pray that our best is good enough for this unique Nigerian company.
I personally went in to the exercise thinking the probability of my efforts mattering high compared to some recruitment exercises I've been part of; and believed so even further with the way the day was conducted.
Not all risks can be mitigated against, accept nepotism as a risk and strategize to put yourself at the top.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 2:21pm On Jul 23, 2015
Guys this thing is pretty simple, nepotism exists we know it and we don't like it. Unlike one of Rockerfeller's spring out company who wasted people's time and emotion after recession only to employ connected fellows, or Edison's company who only recruit friends of family. The only multinational who was fair is the European one whom loads love to hate, they give opportunity to loads of unconnected, nepotism still plays a part but 30% merit is alot given precedence of competitors.
To NLNG, the process has been designed to reduce nepotism as much as possible, so if we have a 70% merit selection ultimately that's great.
If you started this process and didn't factor this into your prep, ramping up your presentation even after being given 2 years notice; you're a joker. grin
Though some might slip through the crack, more competent hands will be recruited as the future of the company depends on this.
Assuming fake people were recruited in 07, you think they won't have blown up the plant with incompetence? Train 7 isn't beans, 8M capacity. They need right people and they'll hire right.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 10:51pm On Jul 17, 2015
Retire after 8 years and build a plantation with the payoff. Quite simple.
adhominem:
In as much as I recognise the supposedly huge financial rewards awaiting successful applicants, I have reservations concerning the career path the coy offers considering the few reviews on glass door. It looks like one might be stuck doing the same thing for a long while.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 10:44am On Jul 15, 2015
Actually with little research, you can know exactly what they are looking for. Let's not make this whole process more than it actually is. The way some are behaving, they'll call prayer meetings every morning at work if they get it.

weomet:
That's the issue with rationalising things that happened, you may think that you have done well by your own standard and reasoning but it seems there is always an angle to criticize any strong point and strengthen every weak point.
It's only when we know what they are looking for that we can then estimate how well we performed...seeing that we will never know what they are looking for I suggest we just let it be.
I'm not really fazed by the whole scholarship thingy whether na mobil or shell or imperial or UCL...all na story...who will get in will get in.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 5:54pm On Jul 10, 2015

Guys,
This is just an expatiation of the recommendations sent by the recruitment team. Believe in yourselves and apply the breadth of your knowledge, I only want to work with the smartest people, so if you aren't good enough; the process will gladly drop you by.

NB: Please do not raise your voices during the group exercises or try to be domineering; can derail every other person in your group.
dway4ward:
Help has come,
First you'll answer a questionnaire. Then assessors come and you have a case study, make a presentation from the case study. takes almost 2 hours totally. Take a tea break. Have the group task, pretty novel. Takes 2 hours thereabouts also. Take a lunch break for an hour. Then massive grilling/grinning at the one on one interview.

Whatever you do, DO NOT FLY ARIK. You cannot risk the dissapointment, you can fly them later oh, but not this time.
4mula22:
In a dilemma...

Should I book a direct flight for 319k (with the hope that NLNG will reimburse)... or go with a cheap flight of 198k (and spend 2days travelling) just in case they don't reply favourably?

Analysts in the house... over to you!

Expecting invites to roll in within the month, and equally stiff competition for places.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 12:03pm On May 04, 2015
Interesting for the competition, a friend studying for his masters recently got an offer. Reduced competition for Ekiti, but really a great team member missed. Hope the process concludes before too many get poached.

Ma foya, Ma beru, all na play. Though I will like the request for updated CV/ request for present location/ notification of assessment centre day and location mail to drop right away, I will be expecting the mail after handover and there is certainty of peaceful transition especially with Nyesom.
Moreover, its just 1 stage left that'll typically take 1 month to complete and expected resumption is October thereabouts, so there is adequate time for all. Stay true to you.

Its pretty interesting. That took long enough.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 6:53am On Apr 13, 2015
Some have contacted NLNG multiple times with regards change of location, but no acknowledgement of any sort. Makes sense though since the dates aren't fixed yet. The profile pages are also offline so no changes possible from there.
I'll suggest a reply to the final invite stating dates of assessment, it is well.

Ramadan is sometime in July. Proper planning required so no excuses around that time.

Some of the AC candidates already have 6 years experience now. It'll be all very interesting.

If you piece disjointed information together, you'll realize the Oracle probably facilitated this information dissemination. Just hope he doesn't get into trouble for trying to be helpful.

If the experienced interview is mid October, then the graduate interview will be November. All good.

Kai, waiting for close to a month now. I pity those PTDF guys, thinking They'll do the interviews before going to the UK. Well reduces the competition for some of us. Will they have even notified NLNG of the scholarship?

Hello all,
Can anyone describe the typical role of a graduate trainee, like an engineer for example. The core values required, same as other multinationals in the oil and gas industry?

Ireport it is a dissappointment we still have people who think like you in Nigeria. You dont understand the simple statement of "a journey a thousand miles begins with a step". It is a big dissappointment. You just want to defend your faith and you dont even know your faith, bet you're one of those christians who follow your pastor and not jesus, cos tis in the bible that the temple of god is in a man's soul. People did wrong in the time of the wrong people and you say we should let them be? If we do so how will we move forward as a country, please go and know yourself and set your priorities rite, you re still young and if you keep with this kind of mentality you will be a problem when the youth want to take Nigeria to the next level. it is sad there is nothing we can do about your nationality, u were born a nigerian so please change your mentality for Nigeria to move forward,

FYI: Other state governors are tryin to immitate lagos state government
