Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward:
I had to make a choice between adding NSE and COREN or choosing to go on a paid scholarship. First line of action would have enabled me survive in this tough economic clime but I saw it as too much for a graduate role and the team could read that as one who'll not be as trainable (one with too much external experience might be more stuck in his ways and not adapt as quick to our organisation). The second line of action, further studies will show willingness to learn and can counter the excess experience, hence my choice. A sane recruitment will take a year from advert to resumption, I expected to complete my thesis off-campus. I took this decision because of the image they had portrayed. My skills set is strictly for the industry affected by this oil price crash. Do you know if the great Dane is in accounting or IT with easily transferable skills? That line of "move on" is very patronising, as you know not individual unique circumstances.

I am actually moving on yes, I knew I'll be the ONE if that was all was needed by NLNG; but with this delay and lack of opportunities in engineering; I'm taking my skills to another industry, and I'm not selling to a Nigerian management again.

I don't think that guy is in the recruitment process. Bringing God into minute affairs of man, when God has given you capacity to reason is utterly weak, and has ruined one of the most godly nations, your very own naija.
Do what is right and don't bring God into issues.

If I observe unusual colouration of the cryogenic system's protective coating; and it's not a typically documented characteristic. I make recommendations from research, and my suggestions aren't heeded because the manager fail to sit on it. The systems fail ultimately, do you think the money will keep me happy. This I believe is the kind of system they run, unappreciative. I doubt career satisfaction is attainable in such a system.

For many, it is not just money. I wanted to join a system that single handedly improved the availability of cooking gas for Nigerians. I wanted to postulate a similar idea, make money for the company and ease life for Nigerians, that was my attraction to the system. I saw them as a people who value Nigerians, and expected to be treated with value throughout the recruitment process (expected 9 months). I was always going to make money, but not all the avenues had a history of empowering Nigerians. This indecisiveness had totally erased my positive convictions, not just because of the present management; but because the future management ( the sauces on here, and expectant rapturees) also excuse the indecisiveness. I am tired of fighting systems to do what is right, I hope not as many are tolerant/accepting of wrongdoing just because you earn good.

Money is not everything.

By the time you analyse them against their core values you see epic fail. I wonder how professional they'll be, you might have to lobby and lick a** to get promoted. Very funny company.

ItsTime4me:
I once said those guys guys are incompetent, some people here did not believe me. You don't know how capable a decision maker is until he faces a dire situation. Waiting for things to be perfect before he can make decisions is a huge indication of INCOMPETENCE. I hope someone from Nlng is reading this. Take it from me that una core value of excellence na mere washi. It's in tough times that you can really proove that you are excellent. Taking forever to make a decision on a recruitment that has lasted for close to 3 years? Haba!! What height of INCOMPETENCE! una no get shame for eye? Nlng is even more confused than Nigeria herself. After una go dey claim excellence. Excellence my black ass. Anything una like make una do. I dey cane my line dey go cos # I still believe in Jah's undeserved kindness

Caring is one of their core principles, but it only applies to those who bear their name(staff) or can directly disrupt/affect( Bonny indigenes/ business partners) their business.

StringerBell:
What I don't get is why some ppl were given closure and some others weren't. It's not like there's any certainty (based on the numbers mentioned here) that when the closure eventually comes, it's gonna be different from what some others got a long time ago. Why do some have to wait longer for the same outcome? This is the one thing I can single out as "unfair" in the entire process.

Not all oh brother, some will sponsor you for such training and pay you living wages. Even McKinsey that send you on paid MBA expects two years service. 5 years is plenty mehn.....

Congrats brother, whatever you do, accept the offer before the deadline; if that is accepted before the NLNG calls and you're successful, notify the NLNG management of the new bond and request for them to get you off it.

Them making you an offer shows they want your skills and persona in the unique NLNG environment, we'll see if they truly care and bring you on.
Dfavouredone:
First, congratulation bro.

How soon are you expected to commit to accept the offer, if you can delay accepting the offer to watch out how NLNG play out, then do.

But otherwise, accept it. You know a bird at hand is .....

A company that offers to train you outside the country for a year must have a comparatively good package.

Some people also had this challenge before whether to go for their msc or not; they have gone, completed it and back yet NLNG is yet to conclude the recruitment.

If you can delay the offer fine but if you cant, then accept it as you re not even sure if NLNG rapture, you will make heaven. shocked shocked shocked
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 2:53pm On Mar 01, 2016
People please let's be smart and not ask for specifics. You can infere from kaitung & forkadict information that probability of dropping from now on is little and the next communication is this month.
That is adequate enough. No specific date needed, it'll drop SOON.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 5:36pm On Feb 24, 2016
The thing he was trying to pass across is, the call is soon. Which we all know plus, no one else is being dropped, which we'll know once the final mail drops.

If that last info is wrong, many will be rejoicing and will drown out the "lone wolves" dropped. I'm not resting on my oars though. Personally, I'm gradually dissociating myself from the NLNG brand. It's taken too much from me. Can't put it all here, but if I get this offer I'm chasing before the Q3 resumption, I'll reject the NLNG offer.

A smart and resourceful person shouldn't go through what they've put me/us through.

If they like take everybody, if they like take one person, na their business.

Brotherly/Sisterly,
You don make us smile with the lovely poem already,
No come spoil am now,
Na simple error for spelling, people dey make am.
I bin try reason literary ingenuity into the two highlighted,
but they were too isolated.
If same intentional wordplay was used in an harmonic fashion, then could have been literary ingenuity.

Now just take the simple correction on the chin my good friend, and thank you for showing us this part of you.

Just thinking out loud. If as a company with your revenue in dollars, operating in an economy with a different currency (Nigeria), can your staff salary and bonus be paid in dollars?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 12:20pm On Feb 18, 2016
Now this is getting ridiculous. Will you just delete any reported comment? Without consideration of circumstances. That is lazy at best, and totally inconsiderate. Very synonymous to the Supreme Court, who do not consider implication of actions or precedence being set.

Someone with no interest in this thread posts a derailing comment and was rightfully escorted off the thread, that was all.

It's a good development. No possible extrapolations though, given that Iraq and Iran still pump significantly high volumes. Saudi and Russia also have reached their peaks, so not much volume increase was expected from them.

Just glad a placebo is offered, soon we'll get the true prescription.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by dway4ward: 7:13pm On Feb 15, 2016
See people this thing is pretty simple. Numbers have been trimmed down alot, agreed. A few are still in the recruitment process, all who cannot say for sure if/when they will join the NLNG team. First there will be a mail detailing eventual success/failure, and ultimately a date to resume. The exercise has gone on for such a long and insane time.
We are here as kindred spirits, surviving this wait together. Someone came here earlier in January to let us know resumption is in Q3, that information broke off many holding on to resuming soon, making them make alternate plans, moving on with their lives. Recently, snippets came out to make us think Q3 might be or might not be, and Q1 is probably notification for medicals. Good development.

All I am saying, please understand this excruciatingly long recruitment exercise has taken alot from people, and some inaccurate information will be doing great harm to some here. Please do not think of some as being weak on here, you know not their stories.

The real Forkadict, congrats boss. Just stay true to yourself, there will always be noise, just do you.

So the day came and went. We'll now have to wait for "soon". Please I've consistently asked from those who have sauces here, Is the resumption Q3? That's what I got from a long thing sauce. I need to confirm this so I can really make alternate plans.

Please, please, please, if you cannot answer this direct question, say nothing about expected date.

We here know how little information we gave out after the AC, even though we signed nothing. There's just a way about this.
forkadict:
My apologies if you feel that way. But sometimes in life, it pays to view issues from others' perspective and not just yours. I am very sure that when the successful ones get in, they will understand why it is not wise to talk in black and white on issues like this. Ever heard of 'confidentiality agreement?'
