The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, #EFCC, Ibadan zonal office on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 secured the conviction of four internet fraudsters.

The convicts are: Olatunji Samod Oladimeji (a.k.a Theresa), Stephen Ayoola Ogunmefun (a.k.a Michael Schwarz), Adekanmbi Abdulazeez and Tella Adefemi Ibrahim.

The anti-graft commission had dragged them before Justices Ibrahim Watilat and Mohammed Abubakar respectively sitting in Federal High Court 1 and 2, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

They were accused of sending pornographic and indecent pictures, and fraudulent representation. The offences are contrary to Section 22 (2) and punishable under Section 22 (2)(b)(iv) of Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention Etc) Act 2015.

They all pleaded “guilty” to their respective charges.

The prosecuting lawyers, Murtala Usman and Abdulrasheed Lanre Suleman, urged the court to accept the plea bargain and convict them accordingly.

Justice Watilat pronounced Ogunmefun and Abdulazeez guilty and sentenced each to five months in prison.

While Abdulazeez was ordered to refund $200, Ogunmefun will pay back to his victims sums of €800 (Eight Hundred Euros) and $75. All the payments will be made through the Federal Government of Nigeria as restitution to the victims. They are also to forfeit all the items recovered from them by the commission.

Equally, Justice Abubarkar jailed Tella and Olatunji for two and three months, respectively.

He also gave the order that Tella forfeits a sum of N1 million, a Honda Accord car, one HP Laptop, one IPhone 8 and One Samsung X9 recovered from him.

Besides the jail term, Olatunji is to restitute the total sum of $700 and £50 (Fifty British Pounds) and also forfeit his One Infinix Note 4, one black Dell Laptop and One silver HP Laptop.

EFCC, on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, arraigned a banker, one Ogunleye Bamidele Ayodele before Justice Hussaini Baba Yusuf of Federal Capital Territory, FCT High Court, Maitama Abuja, for allegedly obtaining the sum of N74, 760,000 (Seventy-Four Million, Seven-Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira only), under false pretence from one Auwal A Danyaro, Chief Executive Officer, Triple-A Multi-Concept Global Ventures.

The arraignment of the accused who is facing a nine-count charge, bordering on obtaining money under false pretence, followed a petition to EFCC, by the complainant who alleged that the accused, a Staff and his account officer at First City Monument Bank Plc; approached him with a bait to help him get United States Dollars from the Central Bank of Nigeria at a lower exchange rate.

According to the complainant, he parted with his company’s Triple-A Multi-Concept Global Ventures’ N74, 760,000 (Seventy-Four Million, Seven-Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira only), to the accused without the defendant buying the alleged Dollars nor refund his money.

Count one of the charge reads: "That you, Ogunleye Bamidele Ayodele on or about the 21st of November, 2017 in Abuja within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud did obtain the sum of often Million Naira only (10,000,000.000) from one Auwal A Danyaro, the Chief Executive Officer Of Triple-A multi Concept Global ventures being money transferred from his company’s account number 3905025021 with First City Monument Bank Plc to one Ajayi Adeniyi Joshua’s account number 4668460010 with first monument bank based on your instruction as part payment of a total sum of 74,760,000 (Seventy Four Million, Seven Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira only) under the false pretence that you were going to give him United State Dollars from the Central Bank of Nigeria, a fact which you knew to be false and thereby committed an offense contrary to section 1(1) (a) and punishable under section 1 (3) of the advance fee fraud and other fraud-related offenses act 2006”.

The defendant pleaded not ‘guilty’ to all the charges and the prosecution counsel, Iwebafa Gift Odibo, asked for a trial date and prayed the court to remand the defendant in prison custody pending a hearing.

However, the defense counsel, Osuji Udoka Geraldine, told the court about a pending application for bail on behalf of her client. Justice Hussaini Baba ordered the defendant to be remanded in Kuje Prison and adjourned the matter to May 15, 2019, for bail application and May 30, 2019, for hearing.

Today, May 9 was the 31st death anniversary of Nigerian national and stateman, Chief Obafemi Awolowo. He played a key role in the independence movement of this great nation.

Apart from his face being on 100 Naira notes, some other achievements of the late sage who hailed from Ikenne, Ogun State are catalogued below;

1.) He named Nigeria’s national currency as ‘Naira’ when he was the Federal Commissioner for Finance. The late sage took the name of Nigeria and collapsed it as ‘Naira’

2.) Awolowo introduced free primary education for all and free health care for children in the Western Region.

3. )He established the first television station in Africa in 1959.

4. )He also erected the first skyscraper in tropical Africa:the Cocoa House (still the tallest in Ibadan).

5.) Awo as fondly called was conferred by President Shehu Shagari with the title of the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR), the first and only non-president to be so honoured in recognition of his sterling qualities and contributions to the service of the country.

6.) He was the first individual in the modern era to be named Leader of the Yorubas (Yoruba: Asiwaju Omo Oodua), a title which has come over time to be conventionally ascribed to his successors as the recognized political leader of the Yoruba peoples of Nigeria.

7.) The man widely believed by admirers to be the best President Nigeria never had was the first Leader of Government Business and Minister of Local Government and Finance and first Premier of the Western Region under Nigeria’s parliamentary system, from 1952 to 1959.

8.) In 1949 he founded the Nigerian Tribune, the oldest surviving private Nigerian newspaper, which he used to spread nationalist consciousness among his fellow Nigerians.

9.) The party he founded, Action Group was the first to move the motion for Nigeria’s independence in the federal parliament and he obtained internal self-government for the Western Region in 1957.

10.) The University of Ife was renamed Obafemi Awolowo University on 12 May 1987 in honour of Chief Obafemi Awolowo first premier of the Western Region of Nigeria, whose brainchild the university was.

Last year they invited the best 200 people to assessment center and only 120 of us scaled through to the medicals stage.

Success in advance for those who took the test yesterday. please note that you might get a mail before the end of tomorrow and if am right just like last year when i applied the Assessment center would be this Saturday at Lagos in Churchgate, Victoria Island. Please start getting set to travel. If you scale through this stage you be going for medicals and within 2 weeks training school. I wish you all the best of luck.

I was once like you guys last year when i applied and now my story has changed. The assessment center has four (4) different stages and it all going to be one day from 7:30 am to 5 pm.

As regard to the pay structure all the blogs carrying the pay structure of Polaris bank are actually wrong. You would be paid monthly and also benefit quarterly allowance after confirmation. It actually armed robber salary, if you know you know.

Contract staff in Polaris bank earn 75k a month and quarterly of up to 30k. Now imagine what a full staff would be earning.

Zenith Bank no dey do any graduate trainee ( I hope this sink well this time though). The only different between Zenith and other banks is that everyone get converted eventually so long as you can wait (4years).
When you get ICAN on the job, dem go give you 250k education refund and promote you. Abeg no let me shout o

Lol, off course all entry level in Zenith is contract (Whether first class o, 2.1 o or 2.2) except if you're coming in with an ICAN in hand. Then you'll be given ET position (salary is still 131k). People actually think Zenith pay big money. They were paying 75k before they increase it to 101k last year june. Make una no pm me again o. I no dey reply. If you wanna know how to get in talk here I'll give you step by step on how to go about it but just know say na Contract job of 101k with no other benefit for 4years before getting promoted to ET (Non-negotiable).

B.sc are employed on contract under a consulting firm known as Peopleplus (owned by same Zenith) located at Plot 2 Ajose Adegun VI (5th floor). If you like carry your CV go there, nobody go answer you o. That's where Zenith HR is located. And you want to know they recruit day in, day out. No come here argue o. I can quote everything for you even the internal stuff. I can quote their Head of HR and at least 5 staff in HR for you. No just come here and argue what you don't know. Lol

I can tell you about the bank from A to Z. To add, I had their offer.
