CareerDoctor Compares His 7-year Salary In Nigeria And 6-month Salary In The UK by DyshApp(op): 10:12pm On Oct 17, 2025
A Nigerian medical doctor has stirred serious buzz online after comparing his earnings in Nigeria to what he now earns in the United Kingdom.

According to the doctor, identified as Dr. Tolu, he spent 7 years working in Nigeria without ever earning up to ₦185,000 monthly, even while juggling multiple jobs.

He revealed that after finishing medical school, he moved back in with his parents and lived with them till he was almost 30 years old — without owning a car.

However, after saving up to write the required exams and moving to the UK, his 6-month salary abroad reportedly surpassed his entire 7-year earnings in Nigeria.

Here’s what he wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
After Medical school, I moved back in with my parents. Lived with them for 7 more years until I was almost 30 years.

Didn’t buy a car. Worked several jobs, sometimes 2 at the same time. During this time, no job ever paid me up to ₦185,000 a month — 7 years o.
Saved enough to write exams & move to the UK. 6 months salary in the UK was more than all my 7 years salary in Nigeria combined.
https://x.com/tolubinutu/status/1979021061573206219?t=Ug1tTovARqx5rkcb3tBEdQ&s=19

This revelation has sparked discussions about the state of healthcare salaries in Nigeria, brain drain, and why many Nigerian professionals are relocating abroad for better pay and work conditions.

Is the UK really that much better, or is it just hype?

CelebritiesHow I Learned To Mind My Business After Being Beaten On Set – Opebe by DyshApp(op): 10:36pm On Oct 15, 2025
Veteran Yoruba comic actor Yomi King, popularly known as Opebe, has opened up about some of his early struggles in the movie industry — and it’s not the kind of “acting” you’d expect!

In a recent chat on Behind The Fame Podcast, Opebe revealed that many of the beatings he received while filming weren’t scripted — they were real! 😩

According to him, he faced actual blows on set, especially during one unforgettable scene with Yinka Quadri in the old Yoruba movie Eku Meji.

In his words:
“Those sufferings were beyond acting; they were real beatings. That’s what they call acting, you have to do it well and real for people to know it truly happened. Baba Suwe doesn’t mind. Anyone that knows him well knows he will beat you directly; ask the director.”

He went on to explain that the beating from Yinka Quadri wasn’t just “for the camera” — it was personal. Apparently, Opebe had earlier sided with Baba Suwe during a misunderstanding between the two actors, and Yinka didn’t take it lightly.
“When he replied me, it was a slap and a severe beating. I began to shout, ‘Cut! This isn’t a movie anymore.’ He laughed and said, ‘In your life, you won’t interfere in people’s fights again.’”
Lesson learned the hard way! 😅

Opebe said the experience taught him to never take sides in another person’s quarrel again.

RomanceTope Alabi: How 4 Men Rejected Me Before Finding My Husband by DyshApp(op): 10:17pm On Oct 15, 2025
Gospel singer Tope Alabi has opened up on her difficult journey to marriage, revealing how four men “stylishly left” her after seeking spiritual advice about their relationship.

In a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, the 55-year-old singer recounted how, as a young woman ready for marriage, things always took a strange turn each time she brought a man close to meeting her parents.

“When I became an adult and it was getting to a stage that I needed to take men to meet my parents, something strange always came up. The men would just say they needed to go and pray about it and afterward, they would stop reaching out to me,” Alabi said.

She said the rejection usually came with spiritual undertones. On one occasion, she learned that a suitor had visited prophets who allegedly warned him against marrying her.

“One of our intermediaries once told me that one of the men had gone to meet prophets who told him I was not okay to be married to,” she said. “I can count like four men that stylishly left me. Would you then tell me not to thank God whenever I remember that?”

Alabi added that she eventually met the man who would become her husband through her boss at work. But even that encounter came with its own twist.

“The man promised to marry me, but I told him that’s what all men say. I told him to go and ask about me,” she recalled. “After he told my parents he would come for proper introduction, we stopped seeing each other. My father had already given out my hand in marriage to another suitor before he travelled.”

The gospel singer, who was previously married to Lekan Olaoye, with whom she had a daughter, Ayomikun is now married to Soji Alabi, her longtime producer and manager. The couple share three children.

Tope’s story, she said, is a testimony that God’s timing never fails.

“When I look back, I just thank God for how everything turned out. It was not easy, but it was worth it,” she concluded.

Her story is a reminder that rejection isn’t always the end — sometimes, it’s God’s redirection. 💫 Share your thoughts or read more inspiring stories like this on our webpage(in signature)

Celebrities‘I Never Felt My Music Belonged In Church’ – Johnny Drille by DyshApp(op):
In a recent chat on the CreativiTEA podcast, the “How Are You (My Friend)” crooner explained that although his faith in God remains strong, he never really felt like his style of music fit perfectly within church walls.

He said:
“For me, I love God. I am very much involved in church. But I never really felt my music was in church. Every now and then, I get invited to churches to sing, which is kind of interesting.”
Johnny Drille also admitted that he sometimes faces criticism from some Christians for performing in church even though his songs aren’t strictly gospel. But for him, the message matters more than the label.

“I’ve gotten a bit of backlash from my Christian community every now and then when they invite me to churches. But at the end of the day, the music is positive. It speaks to good things that sometimes the church doesn’t want to talk about.”
He also touched on a deeper issue — how the church often avoids talking about love, even though it’s something everyone experiences.

“The church shies away from talking about love. A lot of times you go for some Christian weddings and you hear Davido and Wizkid. What if the church decides that we want to start doing our own Christian love songs?”
Johnny, who started out as a music director in church, said that experience helped shape him, even if his personal sound didn’t fit the typical worship genre.

“There is a place for worship music, but there is also music about so much that the church could be singing about… I was a music director, directing the choir, not singing in front of the church, but I think it did help me become the musician that I am today.”

CelebritiesAsherkine Explains Why He Stopped Making Binge-eating Content; Warns Others by DyshApp(op): 9:52pm On Oct 14, 2025
Famous media personality, Akinyemi Oluwaseun Omotayo, popularly known as Asherkine, has explained why he decided to stop creating binge-eating content.

The content creator was previously known for videos in which he consumed large amounts of various foods in a single sitting.

In a post on X, Asherkine revealed that making such videos caused him to lose sight of moderation.

He further explained that he struggled with gluttony and experienced health complications as a result of excessive eating, prompting him to discontinue the content for his well-being.

He wrote…

“I never answered to why i paused making this type of food content; i genuinely enjoyed clearing up over 5 different meals regularly until my body told me.

“Even though i had an active lifestyle at the time and tried to stay fit , i lost the concept of moderation as mindless binge eating became the OOTD even when i wasn’t creating content. i wouldn’t stop eating until i started to feel abdominal discomfort.

“Despite being full asl , i always wanted to keep eating! gluttony had made its way. asides the general discomfort , heart palpitations, excess weight gain , irregular sleep , sneaky high blood pressure count, constant fatigue and so on… the mental battle to beat gluttony is probably the hardest thing to deal with.

“I can’t express how disrespectful gluttony is and how much power it holds but it’s mad underrated. It’s 2 years after and i still chat to the pit in my tummy.

If you struggle with COMPULSIVE EATING DISORDER , shout out you. pay attention, i’m no health practitioner but don’t underplay it.

HealthColdrif: 14 Children Die After Taking Cough Syrup In India by DyshApp(op): 3:57pm On Oct 13, 2025

14 Children Die After Taking Cough Syrup — A Wake-Up Call for All

A tragic case in India has once again raised global questions about the safety of cough syrups and the strength of pharmaceutical oversight. Fourteen children in Madhya Pradesh reportedly died after taking Coldrif, a cough syrup manufactured by Sresan Pharmaceuticals. Many of the children developed acute kidney failure before passing away.

Authorities have confirmed that a sample from one batch of the syrup contained extremely high levels of diethylene glycol (DEG), a toxic chemical used in industrial products such as antifreeze. Even small amounts of DEG can cause kidney failure, especially in young children. Following this discovery, officials banned the sale of Coldrif, seized bottles from the affected batch, and arrested several company representatives.

The Coldrif tragedy highlights what can happen when safety systems fail but it also shows that strong oversight can make a difference. For most families, cough syrups remain safe when manufactured responsibly and used correctly.

The key lesson isn't to fear common medicines, but to insist on better safeguards, transparency, and accountability so that such incidents never happen again.

CelebritiesEntertainment‘people Didn’t Take Me Seriously’ – Tems Opens Up On Early Career by DyshApp(op): 11:36pm On Oct 08, 2025
Grammy-winning Nigerian singer and songwriter Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, has reflected on the challenges she faced at the beginning of her music career.

Speaking in a recent CNN interview, the 30-year-old artist revealed how difficult it was for people to take her seriously.

She stated that she often felt overlooked and unsupported during her early days in the industry.

“It was really hard to get people to take me seriously, not just as a producer, but as a singer. I didn’t feel safe, and I didn’t feel seen, and I didn’t feel supported for a very long time,” she said.

The “Free Mind” crooner stressed that authenticity remains her most important value, describing it as the foundation of her artistry.

“Authenticity is everything to me. That’s the only thing I cannot compromise on because that’s all that I have, who I really am,” she added.

Tems also spoke about her initiative, The Leading Vibe, a platform aimed at empowering women working in behind-the-scenes roles within the music industry.

The singer said the program was inspired by her own experiences of feeling invisible and excluded.

According to her, the goal is to create more opportunities for female producers, managers, and sound engineers, helping them gain recognition in a male-dominated field.

“There are so many talented women who can be producers, managers, audio engineers, but they’re not even visible. I want to make them visible and redefine the narrative of women in music,” Tems explained.

She further revealed plans to expand the initiative beyond Nigeria, with Kenya being the next destination.

“There are women everywhere who just need to be seen. All they need is that chance, and I believe it’s going to change the shape of the music industry,” she said.

CelebritiesWhy You Shouldn’t Search Your Husband’s Phone Without His Consent – Senator Sheh by DyshApp(op): 8:24am On Oct 08, 2025
Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has sparked conversation online after advising women against checking their husbands’ phones without permission.

In a post shared via his official X handle, the outspoken lawmaker warned that snooping on a partner’s phone could lead to emotional turmoil and unnecessary conflict.

Sani explained that not every truth uncovered in life is worth knowing, especially in relationships where trust should be the foundation.

According to him, many heartbreaks and domestic disputes begin when one partner invades the other’s privacy in search of “proof.”

The former senator further stated that when the devil directs you to your husband’s phone, he wants to open your eyes and shut down your heart, implying that such curiosity often leads to pain rather than peace.

He urged couples to focus on building mutual understanding instead of giving in to suspicion.

His words …

“If you cannot handle some truths, don’t go searching for them in this imperfect and temporary life.Don’t search the phone of your husband without his consent. When the Devil directs you to your husband’s phone,he wants to open your eyes and shutdown your heart.Avoidable tragedies should be avoided!”

RomanceEntertainmentdon’t Confess Cheating To Your Partner – Teju Babyface by DyshApp(op): 1:45am On Oct 04, 2025
Popular comedian and media personality, Teju Oyelakin, better known as Teju Babyface, has argued against confessing infidelity to one's spouse.

The media personality, via his Instagram page, in a viral video, stated that no one should confess to cheating.

According to him, many people opine that one should come clean in cases of infidelity, noting how the Bible is also misquoted to back it up.

Reacting to it, he stressed that confession of infidelity should be done to God alone, stressing that confessing to one's partner does no good to them.

He said:

"Never confess to Cheating: The Shocking Truth! Everyone tells you to 'come clean' if you cheat. Even the Bible is misquoted to back that up. But let me be clear: confession is to God, not to your spouse.

"When you confess to them, it is not honesty, it is manipulation. You are just transferring your guilt and sabotaging your relationship. There is no benefit to them (your spouse).
All the benefit is yours."

The video quickly went viral, with viewers both laughing and commenting on the situation. While some criticised her, she defended the clip, emphasizing it was purely humorous.

“Must I drive the car? It is not mine, so I don’t have the need to be entitled to his car. A man who pays school fees, house rent, and feeding can’t be labelled bad or wicked because of a funny video,” she wrote.

She also encouraged financial independence for women:

“Women, hustle for your own money, especially if your hubby isn’t big on sharing. Get the things you desire without waiting for anyone to hand them over.”

PoliticsSenator Natasha Resumes Duties After Six-months Suspension by DyshApp(op): 12:53am On Sep 30, 2025
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central) has officially resumed duties at her Senate office in the National Assembly complex, Abuja.
She arrived around 12:30 p.m. with a crowd of supporters — including activist Aisha Yesufu (co-founder of #BringBackOurGirls) — all waving Nigerian flags. Security initially tried to stop the march at the main gate, leading to some teargas and pushing. Eventually, Natasha and a few aides were allowed inside.

Earlier, the senator and her supporters had marched from the FCT High Court in Maitama to the National Assembly. Once inside, she headed straight to Suite 2.05 (her office in the Senate Wing), which had only just been unsealed, and sat down.

Speaking to journalists, she declared that she owed nobody an apology and was resuming her role as a senator. For now, however, the National Assembly has not officially confirmed her reinstatement.

Background on the Suspension
Natasha was suspended in March 2025 for alleged misconduct during a February plenary.
Her six-month suspension included: locked office, loss of security aides, suspended pay, and ban from Senate premises.

She could have returned early if she issued a written apology, but she challenged the decision in court instead.

In July, Justice Binta Nyako ruled that suspending an elected lawmaker for six months denied her constituents representation. She urged the Senate to review the suspension but did not order immediate reinstatement.

Natasha was also fined ₦5 million for contempt over a social media post.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio appealed, insisting the court should not interfere with Senate internal matters.

Her Response
Natasha described the past six months as “difficult but remarkable,” thanking her husband, supporters, and the people of Kogi Central. She also accused Senate President Akpabio of running the Senate like a dictatorship:

“Senator Akpabio is not more of a senator than I am. He is not the governor of this place, yet he treated me as if I were a servant or domestic staff. It’s very unfortunate that in 2025, our democracy is being run this way. It’s unacceptable.”
Despite her suspension, she said she never stopped working for her constituents by pursuing projects and opportunities behind the scenes.

What’s Next?
With plenary set to resume on October 7, 2025, the key question remains: Will she be fully cleared to sit with her colleagues, or will there be further resistance?

For now, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is back in her office — and the Senate will have to deal with it.

RomanceWedding Cancelled After Lady Refused To Call 11-year-old ‘aunty’ by DyshApp(op): 12:24am On Sep 30, 2025
A lady has taken to social media to share how her wedding was called off three weeks before the due date over her refusal to address her 11-year-old sister in law as ‘aunty’

The post, shared on Facebook by a relationship adviser, Adefemi Taiwo Damilola.According to the bride-to-be, it all started when she asked her fiancé’s 11-year-old niece, Temilade, to help her zip up her dress.

She had called the girl by her first name, which didn’t sit well with the mother-in-law, who requested she address Temilade as ‘Aunty Temilade’ as a sign of respect.

The bride, who revealed she was a master’s degree holder and nearly two decades older than Temilade, argued that it was inappropriate to call a child ‘Aunty.’

However, her mother-in-law reportedly insisted that all family members, regardless of age, should be addressed with ‘Aunty’ or ‘Uncle’ as part of tradition.

The disagreement escalated when the bride-to-be also greeted another niece casually, prompting further complaints about disrespect.

Her fiancé, who took his mother’s side, accused her of allowing her pride to get in the way when she refused to comply.

The dispute ended with the mother-in-law sending the bride out of the home of her husband to be, calling off the wedding, and the fiancé blocking her on all social media platforms.

CelebritiesStop Using Sponge To Bathe – Lady Warns, Reveals Harmful Effects by DyshApp(op): 12:12am On Sep 30, 2025
A Nigerian lady has gone viral after strongly advising people to stop using sponges of any kind while bathing.

In a trending video, she held up a sponge as an example and explained that scrubbing the skin with it leads to what she described as “micro tears” – tiny cuts on the skin. According to her, these small openings allow micro-organisms to penetrate, which can result in skin infections.
She further explained that the skin naturally produces oil that protects the body, and constant scrubbing with sponges strips this protective oil away. This, she said, makes people feel itchy and uncomfortable after bathing.

The lady admitted that it might be “too late” to give such advice since many people are already used to bathing with sponges, but she still felt the need to warn Nigerians.

In her words:
“Don’t use sponge to bathe, I no say e don dey too late for me to advise una. I no say una be my oga and madam.”
However, she noted that people who engage in hard, dirty jobs might still need to use sponges for proper cleaning, but those working in offices or doing light jobs should completely avoid them.

Do you agree with her that bathing with a sponge does more harm than good, or do you feel sponges are still very necessary?
