Pastor Oyedepo Jnr, the resident pastor of Faith Tabernacle and son of Bishop David Oyedepo, has sparked conversations online after revealing that he and his wife have been married for 17 years without a single argument.

The cleric made the revelation while preaching in church, recalling the foundation of his marriage and his courtship days.

He narrated how a teaching from a preacher on 1 Corinthians 7:28 about “troubles in the flesh” during marriage struck him deeply.

He said, “Years ago, I heard a man teaching from 1 Corinthians. I was not married, just courting my wife then, and he was talking about marriage. His subject of teaching was that ‘he that marries will have trouble in the flesh.’ The message was different kinds of troubles.”

“After he finished preaching, I read 1 Corinthians 7:28, which says, ‘If you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. Nevertheless, those who marry will face troubles in the flesh.’ What were the next words, ‘But I spare you.’ He left that part.”

After reflecting on the scripture, he resolved with his then-fiancée that their union would be free of quarrels.

“I told my wife during courtship that we will never have an argument. Our wedding anniversary was in July, 17 years now, and we have not had one argument. We’ve never had a day where we’re raising our voices,” he said.

Oyedepo Jnr. further disclosed that many doubted his conviction at the time, insisting marriage would eventually change his perspective. However, he maintained that his experience has proven otherwise.

His testimony has since stirred mixed reactions on social media. While some praised him as a model for peace and mutual understanding in marriage, others expressed scepticism, arguing that disagreements are a natural part of relationships.

The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested three young ladies seen in a viral video assaulting a lady identified as Nancy.

Days ago, a disturbing clip circulated on social media showing Kadi and two other ladies physically attacking Nancy. According to reports, the attack stemmed from allegations that Nancy had an affair with a man linked to one of them, as well as claims that she spoke negatively about them to other men.

In the footage, Nancy, despite attempts to defend herself, was overpowered by the group. She alleged that Kadi had previously “broke-shamed” her on WhatsApp, mocking her inability to afford a wig.

The situation escalated as the assailants forcibly undressed her, recorded the assault, and shared it online, sparking widespread outrage and calls for their immediate arrest.

Responding to public pressure, the Bayelsa Police confirmed in a new video that the three suspects have been identified and are now in custody. They are expected to face prosecution for their actions.

Talent manager Mike Premium has debunked viral claims that Phyna demanded N1 billion from the Dangote Group.

Premium clarified that the reality star actually wanted her sister, Ruther Otabor, flown abroad for medical treatment. Recall that Phyna lost her sister in a Dangote truck accident near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo state.

Before her passing, Ruth had been in a coma for days while Phyna struggled to get justice and proper care for her.
Sadly, Ruth eventually died, leaving many heartbroken. According to reports, Phyna had allegedly demanded one billion naira in compensation for the injuries.

However, Mike Premium, who claimed to have been handling the case, confirmed that Phyna never asked for such an amount. He uploaded WhatsApp chats showing that Phyna requested her sister be flown out of the country for urgent treatment. The media executive also emphasised that Ruth did not die a natural death.

“On no occasion did we talk about N1 billion as a demand! False narrative!! I was the one handling this case underground since the news broke out, without social media. This was my direct appeal to Phyna and the legal counsel I provided to support her in seeking justice for her sister because she really didn’t know how to go about it. "The first and most urgent demand was that her sister be flown abroad for emergency medical treatment, because it was clear from the beginning that her condition required advanced care that wasn’t available locally. But instead of receiving compassion and immediate action, she was met with delays, excuses, and now… tragedy. Dangote no get two head as long as I’m concerned; him no better pass me or the person he killed.

"We are the same in the presence of God. They should do the right thing. Let it be known: This was not a natural death. Her life was forcefully taken—not by fate, but by human negligence and disregard.”

Swiss food giant Nestlé has sacked its Chief Executive Officer, Laurent Freixe, with immediate effect after it was revealed that he had an undisclosed romantic relationship with a direct subordinate.

In a statement, the company said the move was necessary to protect its values and governance standards.

Freixe, who joined Nestlé in France back in 1986, only became CEO in September 2024. Before then, he had served as head of Nestlé’s operations in Europe and Latin America.

Following his dismissal, Nestlé’s board has appointed Philipp Navratil, the current CEO of Nespresso, as the new Chief Executive. Navratil joined Nestlé in 2001 and has held several leadership roles, including overseeing global strategy and innovation for Nescafé and Starbucks brands before taking charge of Nespresso in July 2024.

Chairman Paul Bulcke expressed confidence in the new leadership, saying the board believes Navratil will accelerate growth and efficiency while keeping the company’s strategy on course.

Meanwhile, Nestlé has been facing financial pressures, reporting a 10.3% drop in first-half profits in July, partly due to sluggish consumer spending in China. The company’s share price also fell by nearly 25% last year, raising concerns among Swiss pension funds invested in the firm.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate and entrepreneur, Anita Akide aka Tacha, has stirred reactions online after saying that “every girl needs three other boyfriends.”

Speaking on The Podcast Network on YouTube, Tacha explained that women should not rush into relationships but instead explore their options before settling down.

“You need three other boyfriends in your life… I’m not saying to sleep with all the boyfriends. But at least… You just never really know,” she said.
She also advised women to remain single until marriage, stressing:

The Dangote Group has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Ruth Otabor, the sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna.

Ruth died weeks after sustaining injuries in a road accident involving one of the company’s trucks near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State.

In a statement issued shortly after her passing, the conglomerate said it had been actively supporting Ruth and her family since the incident.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ruth Otabor, who was injured in the recent road incident involving one of our trucks in Auchi, Edo State,” the company said.

The Dangote Group explained that since the accident, its officials and insurance partners had been covering all financial and medical expenses, including making arrangements to fly Ruth abroad for advanced treatment.

“Arrangements had been made for her to be flown to India for advanced treatment, pending medical clearance from her doctors. Sadly, despite these efforts and Ruth’s brave fight to live, we lost her today,” the statement read.

The company further reaffirmed its commitment to safety and accountability in its operations, while offering condolences to the Otabor family.

“At Dangote Group, safety, accountability, and compassion remain at the core of our operations. We remain committed to strengthening our safety systems and supporting those affected in moments of tragedy. May God grant her mercy and eternal rest,” it added.

Ruth’s death was earlier confirmed by Eko Solicitors & Advocates, who stated on behalf of the Otabor family.

Nigerian singer Reekado Banks has reflected on his 2018 exit from Mavin Records, describing the decision as “premature” and driven by youthful naivety.

Born Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, Reekado chose not to renew his contract with Don Jazzy’s label after five years, believing he was ready to thrive as an independent artiste.

But his career has since taken an uneven path, with stretches of reduced musical output while he pursued other ventures.

Speaking on the Echoroom podcast, he revealed that he underestimated the realities of going solo.

“It was not a conflict situation. I was pretty young and pretty fixated on what I wanted to do. I wanted to leave. Anyways, my contact had ended two years prior,” he said.

“I signed a three-year contract. I allowed it to ride for another two years. I was there for five years and not renewing the contract.

“So, when it was time, I thought I wanted to do this now. I thought I could do it now. I just embarked on the journey.”

He admitted that many were right to call his exit hasty.

“As many people would view it. As many people would view it as premature. As soon as I jumped into the sea I realised how premature it is,” he added

Veteran rapper, Jude Abaga, better known as M.I Abaga, has opened up about marriage, music and politics, describing his wife, Eniola Mafe, as both his first investor and his most honest critic.

Speaking on The Podcast Network’s “Outside The Box”, the 43-year-old said his wife backed his creative agency, TASCK, at the earliest stage with a personal cheque before any external investor did.

“The very first cheque that came in was from her. She has been the most supportive person in my life,” he said.

A wife in the United Kingdom (UK) has reportedly had her husband deported after he allegedly assaulted her just a month after she brought him to the UK as a dependent.

This was revealed in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a user identified as @lekan_abiodun, who claimed to be a friend of the woman involved.

According to him, the man allegedly hit his wife, prompting her to report the matter to the authorities.

Following the report, the husband was arrested and subsequently deported.

The post further noted that the woman divorced him and has since remarried.

A passenger was dragged off a plane in Nigeria after allegedly refusing to switch off her cellphone.

The incident occurred on Sunday, Aug. 10 on an Ibom Air aircraft that was traveling from the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, the airline confirmed in a statement shared on Facebook.

The airline identified the passenger as Ms. Comfort Emmanson, claiming that her "conduct posed a serious threat to the safety" of crew, passengers and the aircraft.

The airline explained that she had reportedly been "instructed in line with standard aviation safety procedures, to switch off" her cellphone, adding that the pilot-in-command also made an announcement.

Another passenger sitting next to Emmanson then allegedly took her phone and switched it off, prompting "a verbal tirade" from her, the airline said, adding that "the situation was eventually calmed, and the flight departed as scheduled."

Media personality, Toke Makinwa speaks on her journey to motherhood after she disclosed that she’s expecting a baby.

Recall that days ago, the media sensation had revealed that she was set to welcome her first child.

Speaking during an interview, she noted that she had prayed to God to make her a mother before 40.

She noted that she and her partner did it and she became pregnant that December.

Toke Makinwa added that there have been this misconception that she bashes men and hates them. She clarified that that’s not true, and she’s a hopeless romantic.

She said …

“The popular belief out there is that I bash men, I hate men. It’s never been the truth. I’m a hopeless romantic. People did not know that I was depressed. Till now people did not know why I did that thanks giving service and I’ve never talked about it till this moment. At the start I told God I want to turn 40 a mum. I turned 40 in November and He did it December. He didn’t fail. God is never late. He just didn’t do it the way I thought it was gonna happen…”
