CelebritiesPeller Cries Out After Receiving Over ₦18m Tax Bill From Government by DyshApp(op): 1:20am On Aug 13, 2025
Popular Nigerian TikToker, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Peller, has voiced his frustration after receiving what he described as an “outrageous” tax bill from the Lagos State Inland Revenue Service (LIRS).

In a video that has since gone viral, Peller revealed that the agency had asked him to pay ₦18 million in taxes — an amount he insists is far beyond his earnings.

“Government, please pity me. I don’t have anything, I’m just managing. How can you tell me to come and pay such a huge tax? Do you want to kill me? You have children like me at home too; why are you doing this to me?” he pleaded.

Peller suspects that the bill may have been influenced by a rumour circulating online, alleging that he paid fellow content creator Gehgeh ₦25 million to feature on his livestream.

In a follow-up video, he firmly dismissed the claim, stressing that his online income is far smaller than people assume.

“Please don’t listen to him. I didn’t pay such an amount. My fans contributed to cover the studio costs. Even the partnerships I get online don’t pay more than ₦200k or ₦500k,” he explained.

The teen TikToker said that the exaggerated figures circulating about his earnings have created a false image of his financial status, possibly prompting the hefty tax demand.

CelebritiesShe Doesn’t Cook, Clean — Halle Berry’s Ex-husband On Failed Marriage by DyshApp(op): 6:23pm On Aug 11, 2025
Halle Berry’s ex-husband, David Justice, has opened up about their short-lived marriage while reflecting on what could have saved the relationship.

The former MLB star married the Oscar-winning actress in 1993 after a whirlwind romance, but the pair divorced in 1997.

Speaking on Thursday’s episode of the All The Smoke podcast, Justice revealed that while their union started in a “honeymoon state,” doubts soon began to creep in about whether Berry was the right partner to start a family with.

Admitting that he had little relationship experience at the time, Justice said he entered the marriage with traditional expectations shaped by his Midwest upbringing.

“In my mind, I’m thinking a wife at that time should cook, clean, [be] traditional. Then I’m thinking, ‘Okay, if we have kids, is this the woman I want to have kids with?’” he explained.

He noted that Berry “didn’t cook, didn’t clean, didn’t really seem motherly,” which led to early tensions.

Justice recalled that Berry proposed to him after just five months of dating, and although he accepted, he wasn’t certain his heart was fully in it.

“I couldn’t say no… I didn’t want to make her feel bad,” he admitted.

Their busy careers soon became another strain, as Berry’s acting projects kept her travelling around the world while Justice’s baseball commitments kept him on the road.

“We spent a lot of time apart… she was doing movies in this country, that country,” he said.

Looking back, Justice believes the marriage might have survived if they had sought professional help.

“We honestly probably could have made it if I knew about therapy. If we knew about therapy, we probably could have made it,” he reflected.

Berry and Justice first met in 1992 after she spotted him playing in an MTV celebrity baseball game and passed her number to him through a mutual acquaintance. Their whirlwind romance, however, ultimately could not withstand the pressures of distance, career demands, and mismatched expectations.

CelebritiesMiddle-class Nigerians Now Begging To Survive” – Chimamanda Laments by DyshApp(op): 12:54am On Aug 05, 2025
Award-winning Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, has expressed deep concern over the worsening economic hardship in Nigeria, saying even those who were once “securely middle class” are now begging just to survive.
Speaking in a recent interview on Channels Television, Chimamanda said:

“Life has become so hard in Nigeria, and me I can see it. People who were formerly kind of securely middle class—not that life was rosy for them—but they got by, are now people who beg and are in need. That worries me greatly.”

She pointed out that what truly matters is not stock markets or financial reports, but the reality of everyday Nigerians struggling to afford food and other basic needs.

“The level of suffering, how expensive food has become… I think the biggest political judgment one can make is about the lives of ordinary people.”
Chimamanda questioned how Nigerians earning minimum wage are expected to survive in this economy, describing the situation as "terrible" and “deeply troubling.”

She also warned that this level of hardship could push some into dangerous decisions.

“It’s not to excuse crime, but when life gets very hard, even people who before would not have considered certain things suddenly are willing to, and that’s dangerous to society.”

CelebritiesWhy I Didn’t Get Married In My Early Years – M.I. Abaga by DyshApp(op): 11:19pm On Jul 31, 2025
Rapper MI Abaga has opened up about his path to marriage, sharing the introspective struggles he faced as his friends and peers settled down earlier in life.

During an interview on the Jay On Air Podcast, he discussed feeling a twinge of regret around the age of 37, as he compared his life to that of his friends who had married in their mid-to-late twenties and were now raising teenagers.

However, he said his outlook changed dramatically when he met his wife just before turning 40, shortly after ending a previous relationship.

According to MI Abaga, his journey to marriage taught him that everyone has their own unique timeline, and that being ready is crucial for a successful relationship.

He said: “I felt a little bad about being unmarried when I was 37 because my friend who got married at 25, 26 now have 14 year old kids. I have friends who have kids who are going off to college now and some of them who didn’t marry had kids early. Jesse has a 21 year old child and I don’t have any kids of my own yet so you miss out on some of that.

“No complaints because I got the opportunity to meet this beautiful woman who I’m married to now and I really see some Providence In that. At the end of the day, when you’re not ready you’re not ready. Everybody’s timeline is different and this is something that is lost in humanity today.

Within my timeline, It just so happened that I had left a relationship around age 39 and met my wife around 40. She was there at my 40th birthday, at that point I was ready, so I asked her to marry me, we got married when I was 41”.

Reflecting on his past relationships, MI Abaga acknowledged his own immaturity and stubbornness, expressing appreciation for the kind-hearted women he had encountered.

“I have sadness when I think about how I was in my former relationships. I met a lot of kind women in my life who were supportive to me. I just wasn’t mature and I was stubborn,” he said.

RomanceShaffy Bello Urges Women To Rethink Material Expectations In Relationships by DyshApp(op): 10:10pm On Jul 31, 2025
Actress Shaffy Bello has shared some real talk that I think every young woman (and man) should hear. During a chat with Ifedayo Agoro, she addressed something a lot of us don't like to admit — the pressure we place on men to meet high financial standards, even when we’re still trying to figure ourselves out.

She said many young women are still stuck on the idea that a man must be rich before they even give him a chance. But in doing so, some women end up holding themselves back. According to her, instead of waiting for a rich man to “complete” you, be that rich person yourself!

Her exact words:
“I want to be that man that women dream of meeting. Not wait for him — BE him. So when you meet a good guy, you’re not depending on him, you're building with him.”

She also spoke about how a lot of guys are under pressure to “impress” with expensive dates and outings — sometimes spending over N150k in just two weeks on someone they just met — all while earning N450k monthly, if not less. Add bills, grooming, transportation, and work expenses to that and... e choke.

Shaffy encouraged ladies to think differently — don’t just demand; also support. Not every date must be at a fancy restaurant. You can plan something affordable and still meaningful. Talk, ask questions, share visions. If by date 2 or 3, your goals align, great! If not, no harm in walking away early.

She also called out older women too, saying even many “aunties” are not setting good examples. We should all be mindful of what we promote — someone is always watching.

Ladies, what do you think? Can you date a man still trying to figure it out financially?
Guys, have you felt this pressure to impress even when you're not financially there yet?

Jokes EtcBB Africa Rejection Launched My Career – Timini Egbuson by DyshApp(op): 11:40pm On Jul 21, 2025
Actor Timini Egbuson has recalled how he got dropped after making it to the final stage to represent Nigeria at Big Brother Africa.

Speaking in a recent episode of The Culture League podcast, Egbuson said the setback turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as he landed a role in the popular TV series MTV Shuga Naija the same year.

According to Timini, his participation in MTV Shuga was a career-defining moment that launched him to where he is today.

He stated that if he had gone on Big Brother Africa, the hype might have faded by now, or he might not have made it in the entertainment industry.

He added that the experience taught him that lost opportunities can sometimes be blessings, and when doors close, it’s essential to dust yourself off and keep moving forward.

He said: “I have learnt that sometimes, lost opportunities could be a blessing. I have so many colleagues that have gotten opportunities that I wanted, I’ve gotten opportunities that people wanted as well.

“But when I look at the trajectory of my career, some of those things that I might have gotten would have completely derailed me from where I am today. And I believe that where I am today is where I am ordained by God to be.

“I was supposed to be on Big Brother Africa some years ago, it was about five of us, we’ve done all the necessary things and they asked us to pack our bags and wait to be called to join the show. I even hired someone to manage my social media but they didn’t pick me. I think Tayo went, I’m not sure who went that year. But that was the year that I did MTV Shuga and MTV Shuga is what launched my career to who I am today.

“If I had gone on Big Brother, the hype would have gone down by now or I might not have made it in the entertainment industry. So, sometimes, when you lose opportunities, you just have to count it as a blessing, dust your feet and keep on moving. That’s one hard lesson I have learnt”.

HealthWhat Medications Can Become Harmful After They Expire by DyshApp(op): 1:03am On Jul 20, 2025
We all know medications come with expiration dates, but do they really matter? In many cases, yes. While some medicines might just lose their effectiveness over time, others can actually become harmful or even toxic once they're past their prime.

WHICH MEDICATIONS CAN BE DANGEROUS AFTER EXPIRATION?

Insulin

Insulin doesn't hold up well after its expiration date. It can break down and lose its ability to properly manage blood sugar levels. For people with diabetes, using ineffective insulin can be dangerous and might lead to serious complications like diabetic ketoacidosis.

There have even been reports of unusual reactions-like widespread skin rashes-after using expired insulin. While more research is needed, it's safest to stick to in-date insulin only

Epinephrine (like in EpiPens)

Epinephrine is used in emergency situations to treat severe allergic reactions. The problem? It loses effectiveness pretty quickly once it expires. If it doesn't work when it's needed most, the consequences can be life- threatening. That's why it's crucial to keep your emergency allergy meds up to date.

Eye Drops

Eye drops are particularly sensitive to contamination. After they expire, they might no longer be sterile, meaning bacteria can grow in the bottle. Using them could lead to serious eye infections or other complications like corneal irritation or even vision problems.

Tetracycline (an antibiotic)

Some antibiotics, like tetracycline, can be especially risky when expired. Not only do they lose their power to fight infections, but in rare cases, they may also cause kidney damage. Outdated antibiotics can also contribute to antibiotic resistance, making infections harder to treat later on.

If you're holding on to old medications—especially life-saving ones like insulin or EpiPens—now is the time to check their dates. The risks aren’t just about reduced strength—they can be toxic, dangerous, even life-threatening.

InvestmentFrom Bitcoin To Blockchain Your Beginner Guide To Crypto by DyshApp(op): 12:31am On Jul 20, 2025
Bitcoin has been making headlines again, recently reaching a jaw-dropping $120,000 (around £89,000 or ₹99 lakh). Much of the buzz is thanks to political support, new financial products, and global interest from both investors and tech enthusiasts.

But let's face it the world of crypto can feel like stepping into a maze of unfamiliar terms: blockchain, ETFs, cold wallets, and more.

No worries - we've got you covered.

Whether you're just getting started or want a clearer picture of what's going on, here's a friendly breakdown of the most common crypto terms, explained in plain language

BITCOIN

Let's begin with the name nearly everyone's heard: Bitcoin. It's the first and most famous cryptocurrency, a kind of digital money. Unlike traditional currencies like dollars, euros, rupees, or yen, Bitcoin isn't controlled by any government or central bank.

That freedom is part of its appeal, but it also makes Bitcoin unpredictable. Its value can rise quickly... and fall just as fast.

Over the years, Bitcoin has become a symbol of both innovation and risk. Some view it as digital gold, while others are more cautious because of how volatile it can be.

BLOCKCHAIN

If Bitcoin is the star, blockchain is the stage it performs on.

A blockchain is a digital ledger - basically a global spreadsheet that records every cryptocurrency transaction. These records are grouped into "blocks" and linked together in a chain (hence the name).

Each transaction is verified by people around the world using computers often called miners to make sure everything checks out. Once verified, the transaction becomes a permanent part of the blockchain.

This system helps keep cryptocurrencies secure and transparent, without needing banks or middlemen.
