Yes, when they don't speak up, you say it's because a member of their tribe is in power and they don't want to lose patronage. When they speak, you say they are scams and shouldn't speak. You are offended when they speak and offended when they don't speak. tega192: |
Don’t put words into Senator Ireti’s mouth, she spoke about the triviality of the seating issue and stated clearly that she is not aware of the other issues. She did not cast aspersions on the claims of sexual harassment as you’re insinuating. tunjijones: |
Amazing beings we have here, you would think others from different states would call upon other sub-nationals (state and local governments) to do more in developing their states, and encourage the government to extend this to other rural and urban areas outside the capital. I can’t fathom the kind of thoughts that run through people mind these days. Imagine comments like “people are hungry so what’s the need for electricity” 😀 Bola4boy: |
Common, I’m not a big fan of the president. However, Dogara specifically mentioned local government autonomy and the recent tax reforms. Can you fault his assertion that those are two bold and welcome moves the president has made? I know it’s social media but that does not stop us from putting on our thinking caps when discussing issues (especially when raised in a commencement speech). Brendaniel: |
Leave us alone like that, I just returned from my church in Winners Chapel in US where professionals including myself, a cybersecurity researcher and professor of Computer Science, nurse practitioners, medical doctors, government contractors, software engineers, managers in Fortune 500 companies like Deloitte, Microsoft, KPMG, and so many other took the week off to attend SHILOH and serve as ushers and media people. These are the Nigerians that win awards and you celebrate; the same people you call foolish. Guess what, we are streaming live and some people drive 1 hour to come to church when they can watch at home. For us in US, we go from 12 noon till 3pm and 12 midnight to 5am. Many are blessed beyond what you can think and send money home to people who think we are fools. Infact, over 70 delegates traveled live to Canaanland from US, and some are not from our church or Nigerians. You need to know how many African Americans are looking for an opportunity to be a part of SHILOH at Nigeria. Finally, please face your live and let others face theirs. There are generals in the military and CEOs who after giving their billions 😀 are presently cleaning toilets during SHILOH as part of their service in the sanctuary unit. I Please respond courteously if you want to. I just thought I could share inside thoughts with you. Nothing here is made up. riverbird: |
The chancellor of government-owned institutions is a political position and appointed by the president, it used to be majorly occupied by traditional rulers back in the days, who were largely passive and only come to the university only on convocation. The vice-chancellor is an academic and handles the day-to-day running of the institution and chairs the university senate. As you can see, the new day chancellors and governing council that passed the boundaries of their roles have been booted out. If you want to handle day-to-day activities, go and pioneer your own private university 😀 techbro1: |
Well, he was referring to actors and not producers (and we can count the few of them which you literally listed almost all of them).
I'm not sure this dude knows what he's saying. Funke Akindele's movies have made almost 3 billion naira at the Nigerian Box Office. After paying taxes to the government and royalties to actors who star in her movies, I'm sure she will have at least 2.5 billion naira as her own personal profit. |
This is one very illogical argument I hear all the time and I have to comment because I live in America and have seen people fall into this trap for lack of knowledge. If your salary in N1,000,000, you can afford to conveniently live in a N500,000 rented apartment annually and pay from 1 months salary. The factory worker you referred to cannot get a 1 bedroom apartment to rent for less than $800 monthly and so there is virtually nothing left after working for an entire month. There is no factory worker or (even any average worker) that can pay his annual rent from 1 month salary. So as far as living conditions is concerned, the FG worker with N1,000,000 is living in the dreams of the factory worker earning <$1000, who will most likely need to share an apartment with a friend. I am not saying migrating is a bad idea, however stop cherry-picking where to convert from $ to N. I see people migrate with their family because they were told you can conveniently make $2000 (3 million) monthly through Uber but no one told them they will also pay over N2,000,000 for rent monthly 😀 If you are going to respond, please stay within the nexus of my argument and don’t extrapolate to anything I did not say. Thanks docdes: |
Read this story and see what a pastor did for this man. It is this generalization that will make an American say all Nigerians are scammers and we will be angry. It is this generalization that will make an American say Boko Haram is all over Nigerian and we will be angry. It is this generalization that will make an American say Nigerian is a shithole and we will be angry. It is this generalization that will make an Ibo say all Yoruba's are ritualists and we will be angry. We need to stop generalizing. https://www.nairaland.com/8136231/spent-24yrs-prison-following-friend dazzlingd: |
It's okay to have a problem with Christianity. However, do not make it make you loose your sense of reasoning. 1) He was accused and then arrested, a day has to be fixed for the case to be heard in court. That has not be done in over a year. 2) Why is he being chained to a bed in such an inhumane manner? 3) How many times have CAN in Nigeria written letters to help people evade justice? Infact, people have argued that CAN doesn't support Pastors in trying times, and that's why many churches are not CAN member's. It would be a different thing if he was tried and convicted and people are protesting. The case of people languishing in courts without trial is commonplace in Africa and it's a barbaric act. Go to Nigerian prisons and you will hear tales by moonlight of people accused and abandoned in prison with instructions not to allow the case get to trial because they cannot prove their allegations. The goal is just to make the victim lose some precious years of their lives. Pray it does not happen to you or any of your loved ones. Finally, I have not said the Pastor is guilty or not. I've never heard of him. Let him have his day in court! beardedboy: |
Bishop Oyedepo prays for everyone that comes to him for prayers and leaves God to do the rest. He is aware that it is the job of politicians to politick so he advises them and hopes that they hearken to him. There are numerous people he has prayed for who did not win elections. Betta Edu is a member of the church and a privileged daughter of the Bishop so she might be expected to tarry longer that PO, who was travelling the nation. She has shared testimonies of her work as Commissioner of Health in SHILOH in the past and it's visionary and expected for Bishop to support her for the national level. Obi had met Bishop personally in Ota before or after SHILOH I believe and they met in other fora and I'm sure Bishop prayed for him. I and many other Winners across the nations of the world are logging to SHILOH from viewing centers and God has been doing great things. We don't want to push the narrative that only personal prayers with Bishop are answered. This would be totally against what Bishop has preached all through SHILOH. Tareq1105: |
Students with Hijab have been writing jamb in CU for ages. My friends from the IT team of CU (CSIS) are the ones who administer the examinations. This has been happening for years and I see students with Hijab all the time. Infact, people with Hijab come into Canaanland to withdraw money from the ATM machines and they are not stopped. As someone who knows the Covenant University system very well, whoever stopped them was acting on his own volition. Security at the gate sometimes have a mind of their own. Encyclopedia1: |
Anyway to know you're real? Drastick: |
My wife had our kids through CS and we live in US. There was really no help and she feels really tired. We took almost 2 years before trying to conceive again and it was condom throughout. We had our second kid and she's not even seeing her period yet but she's so scared of getting pregnant again so its condom again until we start trying for our last kid. I'm a man who has seen her cut open twice to bring out our daughters and I feel the least I can do is to standby her and make the sacrifice. It has nothing to do with being weak, having waited to conceive for 4 years, I just dread the day when she will be pregnant and regret it and blame me for it. That will be stupid, especially thinking about the prayers we made to have our first child. I feel your pain bro, my daughters are 3 years apart and I know what I go through here in America. But again, the deed is done. God will see you through. Your pain can never be compared to the pain of waiting. Let that be your consolation. JonOfAustrlia: |
His stupidity ![]() Chimookigwe: |
You are grossly misled by you last statement. What you do not know is more than what you know. Now, CU does not even allow people who did not choose it as their first choice write her entrance exams. I lectured in CU for 4 years and I was born and bred within the campus of a 1st generation Federal University. My father was a Professor and I know the children of may professors who sent their children miles away to CU, despite having excellent JAMB scores. Did you just hear of what happened in Kogi State University, 13 students killed by cultists? The students I mentored just graduated and are all on LinkedIn showcasing their strengths and many have began to access opportunities in entrepreneurship and industry while their colleagues are thinking of NYSC without any skills to build their lives on. When the VC's and lecturers of other universities come for conference, they do not want to go back home again due to the quality of the amenities in CU. I however agree with you on the issue of relaxing some rules and regulations. Threebear: |
That is Pastor Adelaja's trademark now. Well, he should quickly relocate to Nigeria and lets see what comes out his newfound ministry. Image123: |

The information is 100% correct. I know the family of the bride and a family friend who attended the wedding stated that it was Bishop David Bakare who joined them that spoke about she turning Evangelist Owojaiye down about 50 years ago. It was the lady who has never been married before. Rebsy: |

You just made your calculations unnecessary complex by multiplying by 12 and later dividing by 12. Why didn't you just divide the N1 bilion by 400, 000 right away and arrive at N2,500/month ? Blue3k2: |
Happy Birthday to your Mom. However, only for the sake of correction will I like to let you know that if she is +1 today, we cannot wish her a 'belated' birthday. 'Belated' means its already past. P.s Everyone join me in wishing my Mom a belated Happy birthday, she is +1 today. Help like
|
Good evening everyone. I have followed all the posts on this platform and it really helped. I took the GRE on September 1st and was targeting a minimum score of 320. I ended up scoring 311 (Q - 159, V - 152). I basically started preparing in mid-july when I registered for the examination. I prepared hard but didn't have enough time to take full-practice tests because I left it for the last week and unplanned assignments from the office crept into my schedule. On exam day, the major mistake I remember on my Quant is that I marked four questions in the second part and when I returned to the first one, I spent all my time trying to solve the question that I could not get back to at least guessing in the other 3. I actually didn't answer three questions. I am a Lecturer in a University in Nigeria (2014 - date). My field of Study is Electrical Engineering (Wireless, Mobile and Communications Engineering). I had about 2 Years field experience with a Telecommunications company in Lagos between 2010 and 2012 before I obtained my Masters degree. I also have a couple of publications (not really in the top journals of my field). I had a 3.94/5 in my first degree and a 4.52/5 in my Masters programme. I work in the University I got my Masters so it will be easy to get LOR from my Profs. I need help on what schools to apply to considering my GRE score. A friend of my who works in the US is advising me to apply to schools some of our classmates in the university attended. They include Tennessee Tech University, Worchester Polytechnic University, Clemson University, University of Kentucky, University of Massachusetts, Lowell and University of New Mexico. I have researched them but they really don't have the kind of rating I would have preferred. I need a lot of advise. cc @Scholastica16 |

Have you ever asked yourself why the South is better developed with higher quality of life despite the North occupying top political positions? It boils down to being strategic.
