The most educationally backward lead Nigeria.

Yes i quite agree that these statistics are very true and fantastically annoying but in my own opinion we deserve it.
The real uproar should be towards us sotherners who are such cowards. Whenever them northerners get to positions of power, they appoint their kinsmen to juicy and sensitive positions with reckless abandon not caring what others think, say or do. But when we southerners get to positions all we know to do is to try and please the north.
As far as am concerned, we fear them. We no get liver, we no get balls.
Jonathan ruled this nation for 6 years, but lets ask ourselves, what did he do for even his own Bayelsa state. Nothing!!! Nothing to prove to the future Bayelsans that they once had a President. All his aim was to try and please the North. 80!percent of our budget went to the North. Where are all the almajiri schools he built for them? All empty as at today.
Yet all we know to do is to grumble and make noise on social media..
Lets arise from our sleep and stop making the North our overlords. Lets throw caution to the wind and make sure when it comes to our turn we too give them a taste of their own medicine.
Talking about getting to our turn sef, when will dat be again, seeing every political party is zoning presidency to the North come 2019!!!
I don't have a single tear to shed for Nigeria, but my endless cry is for my fellows southerners who fear to step on the feet of the mallas!

Honestly, while reading these posts gives a sense of euphoria when i consider that i read five out of those op posted, and a whole lot of others by different commentators, i feel sad at the same time that reading culture has all but died in Nigeria. Can we get todays children away from the tv with all its forms of entertainment, can we get them away from the game consoles, internet, social media etc

WEEP NOT CHILD? i must shed my tears for THE AFRICAN CHILD, who cares less whether EZE GOES TO SCHOOL or not. destined to be THE BOY SLAVE when the ADVENTURES OF SOUZA no longer appeals to him. IFEANYI AND OBI are no more his playmates so he is NO LONGER AT EASE. Thinks more of THE CONCUBINE so early in life while others are seeking THE PASSPORT OF MALLAM ILIYA. He is like a BOTTLED LEOPARD when there are ANTHILLS IN THE SAVANNAH to explore. CRY THE BELOVED COUNTRY Nigeria for THE RETURN OF SHETTIMAH is no more feasible. No more hope of being A MAN OF THE PEOPLE, as the centre can no more hold for THINGS FALL APART is now our case...

JIGHU:
STOP THE IDIOCY, ODUDUWA DID NOT FALL FROM THE SKY WITH A CHAIN = FACT, ODUDUWA DID NOT MIGRATE FROM MECCA = FACT, YORUBA PEOPLE EXISTED BEFORE ODUDUWA CAME TO IFE = FACT, ODUDUWA DEFINITELY WAS ROYAL WHEN HE LANDED IN IFE FROM HIS MAGICAL POWERS AND APPAREL, ODUDUWA DEFINITELY MIGRATED FROM A NEARBY POWERFUL EXISTING KINGDOM =FACT.......DUDE FROM ALL ABOVE IT IS CLEAR THAT ODUDUWA WAS THE MISSING PRINCE FROM IGODOMIGODO (BENIN EMPIRE) .....THE RESORT TO ORAMIYAN SPECIFICALLY BY THE EDO UZAMA IS PROOF POSITIVE....

There is no where in that article that claimed that oduduwa is a benin prince. the statement there is 'even if oduduwa is a benin prince'.

Thanks bro for the above.
Truth be told, every group has its own cultural history whether oral or written. However you look at it, the Benin history of Prince Ikalederan/Oduduwa makes more sense than what the yorubas hold on to that Oduduwa descended from heaven with a great chain. I wonder how people can believe such a fairy tale in this generation.. (SMH)

The fact that the yorubas were the first to embrace western education and hence the first writers of modern Nigerian history does not make the fables that was shoved down our throats in primary and secondary schools to be reality.

OP please forget about fairy tales and embrace reality. It is a known and accepted fact that Benin empire were the first to have have ambassadors in the royal courts in Europe but do we force that down the throats of others??

For those still doubting, i leave you with a simple question: How comes the name ODUDUWA has a Benin meaning but yet no known yoruba meaning or translation??

Education / Re: I Had Another Nasty Encounter Today. Help Please! by eagleccentric(m): 4:04pm On Feb 26, 2016
OP if you really want to help people, keep on but prepare for nasty experiences and most importantly please be safe.

Here's one nasty experience i had a few years ago in Abuja.

I was driving towards jabi and a lady waved me down. At first i thot she was a stranger in town because where she was, i know there was no way on earth she was going to get a cab. She introduced herself as Ibinabo (I will never forget). We got talking and she said she just closed from work on her way home. Approaching Jabi she told me she was in no hurry to get home and wouldnt mind accompanying me to while away time. I picked up my parcel at the bus park and took her to where she said she was living. She asked for my phone number and i declined saying i was only being the good samaritan. After much pestering and still more refusals from me, she then asked me to come and have a drink with her at home. Bro, i refused and she let me be.

A few days later, i was at church and my pastor began to narrate the experience of o colleague of his at work. Apparently, the man had picked up a lady exactly where i picked up Ibinabo. Dropped her off exactly where i dropped her off, but in his own case he decided to accept the drink from her. She took him through a bush path to a run down hut in the bush. Told him thats where she lived. No sooner had he sat down that two men came in and started the usual talk of "they have money, they need money to wash it bla bla bla". The guy then knew he was in some serious sh**. There was nobody for miles around and even if he shouted who would come to his rescue. He decided to play along and even told them he had some money in his car and needed to go and get it. The guys kept insisting that he gives Ibinabo the car keys so she would go and bring the money. He responded that where he kept the money nobody would be able to find it. They now asked the lady to accompany him to the car, and as soon as he got there, bro he took off, swearing never to help anyone again.

That would have been my lot too and maybe even worse, but because my mindset was pure God delivered me.

If you are born to give help, you may not be able to change who you are, but be careful, there are still a lot of Ibinabos out there...

Standing5:
For the delusional ones amongst us, Buhari has been running same economy other ran with oil earnings averaging $108+/b at average $35+/b. We should be concerned about how this man is being able to meet our 70% recurrent expenditure needs. We have situation where over the years past govt have increase recurremt bill foolishly in response to increased earnings. Imagine the effect of Yar'adua regime increase of federal worker pay, Governing arms of govt pay incrememt under OBJ, quadrapule increament in leakages since the last time oil sold for $20-somethin a barrel that has taken place. All these are now clearly added responsibility with no corresponding developement to sustain. They 16 years of excess earning and its near-total spending on recurrent bills by prfevious administrators is contradictory to what is obtainable in similar oil export dependent economy like ours. Nations like Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Norway, UAE, Iran, Kuwait, Angola, Canada, Chicago state in the US you name it.

Yes Buhari met a lot of mess and he is taking his time to see how much he can clear.

The window of opportunity Nigeria enjoyed as a result of the oil windfall in the PDP years were wasted away. Rather than save and invest, useless Governors were shouting "Share the money, share the money". The money was shared, their children are abroad, you and i are left to face the reality of a ravished economy.

One thing you can't take away is the God effect in all these. Nigeria has defied every law of economics and is still standing even to the bewilderment of our enemies who felt imminent collapse was coming. God truly has a plan for this nation...

I see only one problem, we live in a society where numskulls are ruling eggheads!!

I got interested in this because you mentioned STEM and Germany. That tells me you know something about development which our government seem to know nothing about.

Recently, I heard the CBN governor blaming imports for our bad economy. Well, that's right, but what he seem not to understand is that import dependent economy is a symptom that something is wrong. What's wrong?. The root cause is lack of STEM in schools. The root cause of our economic problem whether in Nigeria or other African countries is lack of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education- STEM.

We don't know science!!. NO NATION WILL INDUSTRIALIZE WITHOUT SCIENCE!. Only science can solve the poverty problem of any nation!.

Aside this, every other thing you listed is chasing shadows, the same old treating symptoms instead of the cause of sickness.

To begin any economic development in Africa, the first thing that needs be done is restructure education in Africa. Ban English and French is schools and give free education/scholarship to every student studying sciences; chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics.

Fiscal policy or investments or whatever you call them are cosmetic solutions, they're treating symptoms as you rightly stated. Africa cannot develop with the current western brainwashing model of education we inherited from Britain and France. Western education is anti-development!!.

No need to write an epistle here, cause all these was discussed in full in part 1 and 2 of the link on my signature.

Very correct.
Without investment in STEM, we will go nowhere.
Countries we call developed or industrialized dont pay lip service to Research and Development (RD). Here we have a Ministry of science and technology that is just a ministry by name, no single output in the last 50 years.
See China for example, at a time they were poor and underdeveloped like us, but with heaving investments in training engineers, see what they have become.

The OP talked about devaluation being good for our economy as it will encourage production. I call that textbook rubbish!!! Translate that to real terms and relate it to our economy. How can a devalued naira aid production when all the tools and equipment, even bolts and nuts needed for production/manufacturing is still being imported. In other words, at 310 a dollar, the tools cost almost twice as much as they did this time last year. Where will the money come from. Who can afford production with the rising cost of inflation??

We are in deep sh*t and clearing the mess is what we need to do right now..

The meaning of sexy has been there but some ladies can die, just for people to call them sexy anywhere they go, they now do it like a competition, who is sexier. Smh

Family / Ever Considered What It Means To Be Sexy??? by eagleccentric(m): 10:39am On Jan 20, 2016
Hey good people

Have we ever truly truly considered what it means to be sexy??

One dictionary defines it as "arousing or intended to arouse sexual desire"

In lay man's terms, it means anyone that sees you should think of sex first and nothing else.

Ladies, is that what you truly want for yourselves, to be thought of as a mere sex object rather an an object to be desired, loved and cherished??
Like a lot of us know, the way men are wired, our testerones are triggered by what we see, and as soon as that little guy's button is pushed, he takes over 90% of a man's brain function and will not rest until he feeds. Then what happens, you cry that you've been used and misused. Remember what you give is what you get. Garbage out - Garbage in. Gone are the days when only "callers" had to walk down the streets calling out their wares, and only those desirable enough could be called in. Today, there is no clear cut difference between a "caller" and an average lady whether in schools, offices, markets and even revered places of worship..

something is definitely wrong!!!

The way sex is so cheap these days, the rate of guys wanting to get married has greatly dropped. Why not, when he can just go out and get it for free. Men think they are like bees which have to move from flower to flower to flower. Women on the other hand think they are like the Venus Flytrap. In all honesty, how many have you trapped after your ware has been sampled??

Its now looks perfectly normal for women to display flesh like their life depends on it. Abi u don become eleron (Butcher)? Are you selling meat? Go and rent a shop in the market na??

Please good sisters, let men see you and say in their hearts "This girl na marriage material" rather than see you and say "Kai, i must cut my share".

The ball is in your court..

Chose who you'd rather be...
