Health › Kogi State Disagrees With NCDC, Says Kogi Is COVID-19 Free by Easternsun2020(op): 2:53am On May 29, 2020

The government of Kogi has maintained that the state is free of COVID-19, accusing the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) of having an agenda to spread the disease across the country.

On Wednesday, NCDC had announced that Kogi recorded two cases of the virus.

But Haruna Audu, Kogi health commissioner, had said the state government would not accept any “fictitious” claim from the NCDC.

Speaking on Channel Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Kingsley Fanwo, commissioner for information, described the cases reported in the state as a “beautiful fraud”.

Fanwo alleged that one of the patients, an imam was stung by bees before he was transferred to Abuja from the Federal Medical Center, Lokoja, where he was tested and declared positive for coronavirus.

“As far as we are concerned, the declaration of those cases is fraudulent and fails the major credibility test, it is a backdoor declaration that is laden with a lot of fraud,” he said.

“A patient was admitted to the FMC Lokoja for symptoms far from ‪COVID-19‬ but they were not attended to there. They were brought to National Hospital in Abuja where they were tested and declared positive within 24 hours.

“We do not only think this is a beautiful fraud, but we also think it is a very bad script acted by bad actors.

“The man is a chief imam, they went for a burial and he was attacked by bees and it affected his sight. He went to a clinic and when he was not recovering fast he was referred to the FMC Lokoja.

“We got wind that they were attempts to take the man to Abuja without following the NCDC protocol, we sent our people so as to test to know if he fits into the criteria, on getting there the FMC officials said the man ran away from the hospital.

“Only for us to hear that their ambulance and the staff of the FMC followed the man to Abuja for them to say they have conducted tests and say he was coronavirus positive.

“NCDC should stop defrauding this country. I am not one of those people who think NCDC is helping, I think NCDC has an agenda to spread ‪COVID19‬ to the federation and when there was no case in Kogi, they did all they could to ensure that Kogi has a case.”

Mrs. El-Rufai was bashed by Nigerian Twitter users for not commenting on the lingering crisis in Southern Kaduna but coming on Twitter to celebrate having 80, 000 followers.

Well, Mrs El-Rufai has responded to their criticism. According to her, she is married to a governor but is not part of the government

A lot has happened in the past. I erred, other parties involved had their fair share of blame, but we all make mistakes. I was younger and new in the industry and in retrospect, some things could have been done differently instead of left unresolved.

It will be extremely difficult or impossible for a former US president to go to jail. The Americans think it belittles the office. Instead of jail, a former president would be granted pardon. A good example is Nixon. After Nixon was removed from office, the next president, Gerrard Ford, granted him pardon for all crimes he 'committed or might have committed.' Trump cannot go to jail no matter what he does while in office as the President of the United States.

Washington(CNN) President Donald Trump on Wednesday threatened to "strongly regulate" or even shut down social media platforms after Twitter applied a fact-check to two of his tweets this week.

Trump did not elaborate on what actions he could take. But the threat is Trump's clearest expression of intent to use the power of government to target his perceived political enemies in the private sector -- businesses that already enjoy wide latitude under the law to moderate their platforms as they see fit. And it raises the stakes for Twitter and Facebook as they grapple with Trump's misleading claims about mail-in voting and his baseless insinuations that a cable TV news host had a hand in an aide's death decades ago.

"Republicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen," Trump tweeted Wednesday. He went on to accuse the tech industry of trying to interfere in the 2016 election, before repeating an unfounded claim about voter fraud stemming from mail-in ballots.

The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of one Kamoru Ajibola, for reportedly chopping off the wrist of his mistress' husband during a scuffle.

Ajibola was arrested alongside his friend Ismailah Mohammed, who was accused of helping in chopping off Tunde Ajayi’s left wrist.

The incident reportedly occurred in Amuda Oba area of Modakeke in Osun State on Monday May 25, shortly after Ajayi accused Ajibola of sleeping with his wife Kemi. An eyewitness told The Nation;

“This led to a heated argument between the parties, but this morning, Ajibola and his friend came here to attack Kemi’s husband."

The state's police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident and also disclosed that the two suspects are in custody as investigation continues.

Opalola said;

“On 25 May 2020 one Tunde Ajayi of Amuda Oba was attacked at his residence by one Kamoru Ajibola and his friend Isamilah Mohammed. Earlier, Tunde Ajayi had heated argument with Kamoru over an allegation that he was dating his wife.

“The two suspects have been arrested and the investigation is ongoing. The Commissioner of Police, Mr Johnson Kokumo has said anyone found wanting will face the full wrath of the law.”

A Twitter user has taken to the platform to call for her boyfriend's arrest after he allegedly assaulted while pregnant with their baby.

The lady who is 5 months pregnant, said she was pummeled by her boyfriend for calling the police for "putting his hands on her." She also alleged that this is not the first time he is beating her up.

@MuvaTone gave off the name of her boyfriend as Eric Reeves and further disclosed that he lives in Montgomery, Alabama. The Twitter user who revealed that she just found out that her boyfriend has also been beating his other baby mamas, said she has filed charges against him.

She tweeted;

If y’all see him at any Houston airports or train stations please CALL THE POLICE. I’m 5 months pregnant with his child and he beat the hell out of me for calling the police for putting his hands on me! If he make it back to Alabama he Will be free and this isn’t his first time.

His name is eric reeves. He live in Montgomery Alabama. Yes i filed charges and so did the state i just found out he beat his other bms who also file charges and he still out here free to take down his next victim. I don’t need sympathy i just need his ass in jail.

Crime › Four Men Caught With Five Human Heads In Ondo (Photo) by Easternsun2020(op): 11:38pm On May 25, 2020*

The Ondo state police command has arrested four grave diggers working at a public cemetery owned by Akure South Local Government after five severed human heads were found in their possession.

The suspects whose names were given as Kunle Olomofe 45; Adewale Abiodun 40; Akinola Sunday 69 and Oluwadare Idowu, 67, were arrested while trying to severe the head of a tipper driver just buried at the cemetery. Family members of the deceased tipper driver had come to make arrangements on how to permanently secure the gravesite when they saw that his remain had been exhumed.

“It was when we caught them in the act which led to their beating that we discovered that they were in possession of other human heads. We immediately contacted men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) who came to pick them up”the family member said

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro said an investigation into the matter has commenced. The suspects have been remanded in police custody.

A Ghanaian man whose wife allegedly plotted with her lover to have him killed still showed his soft spot for her after she was remanded in Police custody for the second time by the Asokwa District Court in Kumasi.

He was pictured handing money to his wife for her upkeep in prison following her second appearance in court on Friday, May 22.

The 27-year-old woman called Mavis 'Maadwoa' Brepo, married to David Gator, 55, allegedly planned with her 50-year-old boyfriend, Patrick Asare, to kill her husband so they could settle down together.

Mavis Brepo and Patrick Asare were reportedly arrested after an assassin they had called to do the job turned out to be the Manhyia Divisional Police Commander.

Since their arrest, Gator has maintained her innocence, claiming that she was under the influence of a spiritual force when she planned with her lover to have her husband killed so they could both get married.

The two suspects made their first appearance in court on Friday, May 8, 2020.

Adom News reported that Gator who was in court with other family members assured his wife of his undying love as she cried profusely after the hearing.

He also gave her an undisclosed sum of money and reportedly told her it was for her upkeep in prison while an investigation into the matter continues.

The publication also claimed that Mr. Gator has long forgiven Mavis and appealed for the charges against her to be dropped so that he can take her back as his wife.
