imo state people full Anambra state in their 100s of 1000s @ Fegge, Awada, Nkpor, Obosi upto Oba all in Onitsha- Anambra and also @ Nnewi. Infact at times one will keep wondering whether imo state extends to that area.

@ Abagoro, you must be insane. Anambra is the beginning and end of Igboland..now go dive into Onitsha River Niger. Awka is a young state capital and its coming up strongly with the UN Habitat Masterplan. Its one city I have seen with modern edifices, cool and serene with boisterous hospitality in the recent time.

2/3 of imo state people are living and earning a living in Anambra state. 97% of investment owners at Onitsha Bridge Head drug mart are all people from imo state. You should be grateful that we harbored you lost ones. Go to Nnewi its the same story of imo people all over the place.

Its will shock you to know that no single ANAMBRAN family is living in the entire imo state.. But you ediots are all over Anambra making living, making money and enjoying freedom, unlike your place there is kidnapping and criminality from jobless youths.

Abagworo: Maybe on individual basis "yes" but with reservations. More than half of Anambra live outside their State. In fact they are the most displaced Igbos followed by my own Imo(Mainly the Orlu area). However standard of living is much higher in Imo.

Like I said earlier I've withdrawn my criticism of Obi because I recently discovered that Anambra and most Nigerian States do not have the resources. I was erroneously comparing him with Rivers, Akwa-Ibom and Lagos who are earning 5 times more than other States and having same level of responsibility. Truth be told the quality of roads done by Obi are poor but still good. He has managed his little resources better than Akpabio. Imagine if he gets 16 to 20billion a month like Akpabio.

That Anambrans are all over the world does not still reduce the population of the state from being the highest in the SE zone. Infact the state is home to most SE people which makes its population to most Igbos who live in Anambra. The fact is that Anambrans are capitalists, they are usually in the major cities as Lagos, Onitsha, PH and Kano. Again its not true that more than half of Anambran live elsewhere. Most Anambra families I know lives within the state. The fact is that while Anambra issue is different is because it has bulk (75%) of the big names that come out of SE.

Your comparison of Anambra with states that got higher allocation is born out mischieve and envy, because its not today that you knew that AK collects higher allocation than Anambra.

Presently Obi has grown Anambra IGR thru attracting big businesses and multinational to the state and above all the listing of Anambra as an oil producing state (13% derivation). This will effectively lunch Anambra to compete with states like Rivers in a fews years time. Even before Anambra became an oil state, the state's IGR is higher than most SE states.

Lagos IGR and GDP success story didn't come from any other reason but the fact that they have good and capable leaders

In about 7 years of the Obi administration, i was hoping he would at least get round to fixing inner-city Onitsha, Awka and Nnewi roads ; if indeed he has done this, then someone should post loads of pics of different areas in these cities so we can at least silence the critics.....and any problem areas would be shown and put pressure on the state gov't to perform better.

The other night i was watching NTA news about roads done by the federal gov't, and they showed shots of Onitsha Upper Iweka/Bridge head area, and the whole place was chaotic, cluttered-up and strewn with rubbish.....i just held my head in exasperation. What first impression would anyone have of us when they enter Onitsha from a much cleaner and decent Asaba?; even if the road is a federal gov't one, that doesn't stop us from keeping our open spaces tidy.....that whole area should be swept clean every evening after dusk in preparation for the next day, but what you see is rubbish of months ago lying everywhere.

One may want to quarrel with my assertion, but i think Anambra gov't doesn't care much for having a pristine, green and welcoming environment; and not just this administration, but right from when the state was created; not just Anambra to be fair, but almost all Nigerian states.....with the exception of Lagos, Rivers, Enugu, Cross River and Akwa Ibom.

I don't agree with you. I don't think you have been to Onitsha recently, maybe you were talking 5yrs ago. Its only Cross River and Akwaibom can boast of such green environment because of low population in that areas. Places as lagos and Rivers be added to list of greenery, but not Enuugu wawa state

Not really. Obi meant that both FDIs and other oncoming investors has sunk over 15B. Sabmiller alone has invested over 15B in Onitsha and more are coming up in Awka and other parts of the state. Orient Petroleum has since resumed exploration and refining in Anambra after investing billions in the state.

Abagworo: I know this junction. Passed it on my way to teaching hospital July last year and it was hell. There's a market by the side. Capital oil and Ogbuawa's 6 storey building is around there. The road was very bad then. I'd like to see more of the road past the hospital and into the villages.

Am sure you will not recognise it anymore, because it has been reborn-ed and transformed all the way to Odumegwu Ojukwu road. The market has gone, that is where government cleared to give way for the reconstruction and beautification of the popular NNEWI TRIANGLE

I just wonder. The last I was in Awka for a wedding I could not believe it. Infact let me post some pictures I took on my way to Saint Father Cathedral Awka. Awka presently is being turning to a hospitality city. I could still see these Onitsha and Nnewi boys coming into the town for weekend trips.

afam4eva: You can't say a governor is working after alluding that it's mainly roads that he has built and those roads are roads connecting the country side.

I also want to believe that Peter Obi has done well in building rural roads even though these roads are camera shy. But that's not a reason whyy we should give him a pass mark. He's left other things unattended to. If Peter Obi was ruling an Ebonyi, i would have given him a pass mark but this is Anambra we're talking about and Anambra is not a state where you build roads and we'll see he has performed.

Really, i can't wait for Obi's tenure to be over so that a more ambitious governor will take over.

Where is your own governor for the past 5months..?

Obi is tops when it comes to SE. He has made the environment conducive for world class investors to troop to the state. He has built roads to the ends of every community in the state, making Anambra a one-city-state. One can leave in Agulu or Nanka while working in Awka due smooth roads all through. You keep on hating and your governor keeps on missing without showing up. Your state, enugu state is largely rural. The state developed about 15% leaving the rest bushy and inaccessible. I could remember going to Udi for a friends trad. mehn I could not believe that people still lives in such a stone age era. I could still see mud houses, poverty in the highest order and above all most dangerous roads I have ever plied and high level of unemployment in Enugu state. A journey 30mins took us about 2hrs.

Obi has made all Anambra communities developing simultenously, we are not doing window dressing by focusing on the major cities. By 2015 your state will be begging Obi to come develop enugu state and not what chime is doing, resurfacing roads that were done 50yrs ago and you gullible people calls that transformation
